Had the same experience when I visited my Ex GF aunts house, definitely eye-opening on how other people live. I was the only foreigner in the whole suburb as far as know
The last one was by far the best for 3k. Hope u got it! U seemed traumatised chubs 😀. It makes you grateful for what you have when you see places like that but I think for your average filipino that kinda place is fine. Good luck to anns brother
so true, very common for Filipinos 👍 i sing and repeat a lot when uncomfortable and there was a lot of that in this vid 😳😬 yes we locked in the last one for 2 months 👍
Hey, these areas looked very clean and tidy. They dont all look this good. As for the room search. This may have been one where Anne needed to be the one filming, and you needed to stay away. Your being there as a walking ATM, will seriously impact her bargaining and negotiating power on the price.
no she let them know and is familiar with Filipino price, they grew up in it and there seems to be an understanding and code 👍 when it comes to other things we have a system
The adage of " you get what you pay for " definitely applies to those rooms shown. I'm sure there's some out there who can't even afford those rooms so let's not judge and just appreciate what we have atm.
Obviously there’s a significant gap between poor and rich there. It’s hard to watch it sometimes but it is what it is. Thanks for the video and stay safe Chad!
Hello, watching this I can see how you feel out of place sometimes, and I wonder how much of that is the language. I was there when the base was still there, my friends and I came up with a way to talk that bothered our wives/girfriends. Speak in pig latin or english really really fast. You'll be surprised at how little they'll pick up what you say.
Why you so scared lol. Dont judge the people based on the surrounding. Might surprise you that the best and kindest people in the phillipines are the poor.
i have no problem with Filipinos but when you enter areas like that they look at Foreigners differently becuz they seldom see any there, theyre wondering why youre there and i try to place myself living in those conditions.. its a strange paradox
Thanks for the informative video. I'm pretty sure that some of your subscribers have never seen this part of the Pi. It's eye opening and it exists all over and not just Angeles. Once he gets established, he'll be able to upgrade his living quarters. I enjoyed this video.
so true 👍 its a first for me and for a lot of people, there will be more from there soon and possibly other areas similar to that.. it’s reality Her brother is excited, it will be interesting to see what he thinks of AC

I liked the first and last place. The last place having its own CR is nice. The first one needs a lot of work so if the price is low that might be worth it
This is the Philippines I love to explore as the province is where you meet and see the real Philippines. Plus, it's not as scary as the first impression gives you as you are treated very well by the locals. To me, it's the reason I go to the Philippines to be out of my comfort zone as the big cities are to westernised for my liking.
absolutely that makes sense 👍 we traveled to Anne’s province of Aklan and i felt a litl out of place the first visit but was very impressed at the cleanliness friendliness and of course fresh air 😁👍

yes i believe most foreigners would be uncomfortable in a place and surroundings like this 😳 everyone wants to find places with prices like this but then when they actually see the conditions its an eye opener
I completely understand. I'm looking for a modest apartment and will be willing to pay someone to help me find one when I get there. I'm not interested in living like a millionaire. @@chubsDubC
Hi Chubbs & Anne. Very interesting Great efforts for the brother and also getting this to us. I was feeling uneasy just watching you make your way through the maze-like streets in what looks like squatterville Would be much worse at night as looks like no light poles? Wishing annes bro the best of luck.
yes true, the majority of Filipinos they pass on the streets here live in a little nicer accommodations (10k php) but thats after years in areas like this 👍
You're getting too deep into the weeds for me. Looks a lot like California where there's no middle class, just rich and poor. The poor get everything free and the people that have jobs pay for it.
It puts things in perspective when you see how others live.
yes it does 😮😀
☝🏾❤️🤙🏾
There has to be something better than that. Does the toilet even work? How humid is it there? Did you check the place for mold.
he’ll be able to look around when he gets here, his input is needed 👍
for now it will suffice
That is a good sister helping her brother out
yes it is, he has been here a few times and this will help ease any anxiety from the transition 👍

i was over thinking it most likely but 1st time in those areas my guard was up
I spent a day in Tondo, Manila in the fall of 1977. An experience.
good stuff, truly living at those moments… sponging everything around us 😳
The hook is set. You keep getting deeper my friend…

Welcome to the simple life of people in the Philippines.
Philippine people don t complain much as long as they have a roof. God bless them
you hit the nail on the head there 😀🙏
simple and happy

@TB-xx4gc yes you did 👍 she knew the one gentleman and he knew everyone which made it easier

That bar near the beginning of walking street is really closing? Wow I’m shocked 😮

The only problem with going with a filipina to negotiate prices is that the price goes up if you are a westerner.

Minnesota was starting to show a similar divide 👍 and then each cold season the story was finding tent city people places to live with heat 😳
Your feeling is understandable. You just experienced what looks like a slum labyrinth.
right 👍 not used to all the eyes on me and the conditions but do understand
