I think the M axles, diff and steering are something to keep in mind too. Those are expensive parts that come stock on the 1M and will add loads of extra cost if you want it to be exactly like the 1M. Those parts are shared with e9x M3 tho so you could find a cheap crashed donor for a more affordable price
I would do a Ford 8.8 kit from SLG. For 6 grand, you get a 1pc driveshaft, 8.8 diff, G-force axles, and everything is straight bolt-on, and will be nearly indestructible. This is coming from someone that did Mfactory diff plus SLG axles, and semi-regretted it. For the steering, the M3/1M steering rack is straight bolt-on (but keep your non-M tie rods) so I just bought a salvage one from a rear-ended m3 for $350.

Absolutely stunning! Head turner for sure. One thing about numbers... The 900ish units were for North America. 740 of those were for the US. So yeah, rather rare especially if you consider those lost to accidents or being stolen. Again... Stunning example... Especially with the 513 wheels (personally didn't like those a few years back when they came out but in that refinished color and in this build they DO look nice)
Lets say i want to build one but i dont mind keeping the stock exhaust do i stil need to move the battery en charcoal canister ??? And the windshield reservoir is that a must ore can i do whitout it im gone have a n55 version

Do you think I can do the rear 1M conversation myself to the point of the fiberglassing & cutting/welding the inner fender metal, and then ship it to a body shop to finish & paint? I'm mechanically inclined, but I'm not a body guy very much. I don't want to do a bad job, nor give hackjob work to a body guy who will have to do double work to fix it. Second question: Are CES n54 850hp bottom mount kits permanently discontinued? Or will they still take them on as special orders? I've been eyeballing this kit for a while now, but their site always says "sold out"

It’s a good looking car but did you replace the differential with a 1m or m3 lsd? Did you do 1m control arms and other suspension pieces that are on the 1m? Just curious how close it actually is to a 1m and not a 135i with a 1m body kit. Cheers
Great question: the differential is neither 1m or m3. It’s a modified 335 3.46 big ring gear differential(previous owner built this as a drag car before it’s rebirth w me) The control arms are off of the e9x m3 (front and rear) the suspension is a not-so-great st coilover setup, I have ohlins coming instead. Future plans: full e9x m3 subframe, diff, hubs, conversion. 👍

Have been thinking about doing the same sort of thing to a M240i, trying to make an M2. I really want and need xDrive in my next car but the skinny body lines of the M240i compared to M2 are killing me.
What about - GTS rims - full 1 M interior - 1 M exsaust - breaks still 135 one - side mirrors - 1 M differential - 1 M steering rack Those alone will cost 20 k + usd
GTS wheels have nothing to do with a 1m. I’ve done mirrors as well, just not in this video. Also, as I went over in the video: this is purely cosmetics.
I really would love to hear your thoughts on how E82 vs E92 vs F82 driving dynamics and feel? I'm going to S65 swap my E82 but meanwhile I want to buy F82 M4 but not sure about it 🤔 I just love those god damn E82s!
Most people won’t do as much as the labor that it takes to get a 135 to this point so I’d add an additional $10k to that price tag so maybe $30k rather than $60k for an actual 1M
Prices from UK to US seems insane! Looks quality though brother, looks to have been done to a really high standard. Shame we live 1000's of miles from eachother, two jet black 135i 1M clones next to eachother would look pretty nuts haha! Especially one with N54 one with N55 DCT! Cant wait for the mods on this one, want to see how similar of a route we go hahaha!
@@davidmitchell5638 The second hand market for them is definitely less over here. In the US the N54 manual seems to be the highest price where as over here the N55 DCT has the highest price. But even the OEM parts from BMW etc, Im sure theyre alot less over here, maybe its down to import and shipping costs from Germany etc but, who knows haha!

the 1m at 60 65 is cheap, that car will cost more than a M3 in ten years, but the fun of built your project is endless
