For me, it was in my 20s, and instantly I was into New Wave music, Ultravox, Gary Numan etc.
i too am 58 and wanted to post here as being their "oldest fan" ... awesome though eh????? First time hearing this will come back again as it always grows on me ...

Indeed and just look what they achieved with the tech available in the late 70s. They must be in there element now with the tech today. I’ve listened to a few of there new stuff and it’s fresh as there old stuff. I’ve loves OMD since hearing them as a kid many moons ago.
Feels pretty great to see both OMD and New Order's newest albums sound just as good as the material they made early on in their careers back in the 80's.
It's normal, if they can create good songs 45 years ago...now it has more sense with a very high technology

It is impossible not to love them. While the elite imposes trash music, OMD and Depeche Mode are responsible for giving meaning and joy to those of us who still have a soul.

True story two nights ago I was in my bedroom at 2am and a glass fell off my table. It was about 5cm from the edge no breeze no radiator heat ..fully flat sturdy table. VERY STRANGE! my auntie said it was likely some kinda earth tremor that wasn't big enough to notice but that effected the glass. Affected? Never know the right one to use. This song is great though.
So modern and still has this unique OMD flavour. The whole album is of great production skill!
It's great when a band like OMD releases new material. It's majestic when that new album is also their best to date.

You can really hear the Kraftwerk influence on this track, which is so fitting, considering their long history of influence by Kraftwerk. I gotta say, OMD has refined where Kraftwerk was going. I'm a fan of Kraftwerk, but OMD is on a whole next level! Awesome stuff, and I'm thrilled about the new album. Can't wait to see them live again sometime soon!

Love the interview with OMD where Andy tells about when Kraftwerk came to one of their concerts! Imagine the pressure!
(I know they met Kraftwerk backstage in 1975, but this was some years later, when Kraftwerk was even bigger.)
Saw them in Leeds few weeks ago, waited 40 years and wasn’t disappointed. Their voices are as spectacular live as they are on albums. The Best 😊

Went to see these with my son in Camp and Furnace in Liverpool where they were promoting the new album. He's a massive music fan in general and absolutely loved the gig. He's 24, I'm 64! Always loved OMD and the show was phenomenal. The sound was great and they opened with my favourite, Anthropocene! Brilliant, going to see them in March 24 in Liverpool, can't wait.
Went to their Leicester show the other day and there were lots of young 'uns, one in particular behind us knew every word to every song even on the new album. Antropocene is my favourite too btw
When other bands are on their last legs, these guys are producing incredible music still after 40 years or more. This track is amazing. A masterclass in great electro pop but even better so is the whole album. Amazing!

Time travel may be sci fi but I was taken back in time by this album, listening to the album charts to find out where it was. This song is complex yet simple. Theres the two different voices, then the singers, the beats going through the song driving it forward but proving space for the message, and that message is delivered in a way that anyone will understand with a finish that pulls no punches. It doesn't feel like 6 minutes. It's brilliant.
This is my absolute favourite from the new album. It's going to be a club classic no doubt!
