Streets in Korea can be transform into a mixture of establishments, small business stores or little apartment residential where it’s nice to just go for a walk without any agenda unlike in major states/cities in America (except in NYC) where the urban design are all similar: huge big box store, walls covered with bricks, and all similar housing. No matter where you go everything looks similar. It slipped us into a crisis of loneliness. I’m glad we have Great Lakes and national parks like Yosemite and Zion park.

2년전 성수처음 갓을때 서울아닌거같더라구요 너무 후져서 일주일전에 갓다왓는데 예전보다 활기차보이고 카페거리 안들어 왓으면 볼거없는곳 같아요 지금도 길거리 쓰레기로 지져분하고 바닦에 쓰레기 사람들이 많이버려요 건물들 낡고 허름 그나마 새건물 지어서 좀나아보여요

원래 구경가는 동네는 아니었죠. 주로 공장이 많았던 곳이 성수였으니까요. 그런데 사양사업이 되면서 공장들이 밀려나고, 현재의 다양한 카페거리가 된건데.. 이정도면 상당히 긍정적인 변화라고 봐야죠~

낡고 허름한 건물들에 묻은 시간의 흔적들을 나름대로 유추하며 그려보는 재미도 있다고 생각합니다. 도시가 무조건 재개발 미명으로 새건물들로만 채워진다면 재미가 없을 것 같아요.
