Not only that. I actively search for game development tutorials. This is the kind of stuff my search history will be full of. But yet. I only get this recommended recently.
Amazing honestly, I do editing and it takes so long + the coding and effects. This must take so long with so much effort and you deserve so much more attention. Great job and keep it up!
I can't tell you how happy I am that this type of channel exists! Recreating features within games is something I find way more fun then actually making my own games so to see a channel dedicated to it is great! Keep up the good work :D Maybe not as much of a feature but one thing I would love to see is you recreating some sort of boss fight. I used too and still do love recreating boss fights from games :)
This is incredible. Only discernable difference is the sword leaves his hand and stays in the enemy a wee bit longer in the original version. Nice work, excellent explanation!
This is the Chanel I've been looking for since I started game development at the beginning of 2018. My man, people arent wrong when they say this channel is going to blow up. This is amazing stuff!
This is pretty cool! I just noticed your channel through Twitter and just had to subscribe, especially how you coded in the FFXV warp and the Persona 5 All out attack, I can't wait to see this channel grow!
This video is all it took for me to subscribe, and I don't even usually subscribe to channels I really like lol I just look them up when I wanna watch 'em. Here's hoping your channel keeps growing because it seriously deserves it.
Im so glad i clicked on this recommended video ! Im really bad at working with Unity, but those videos could help me ! I really don't understand how you only have 20k, you deserve so much more ! Will make sure to talk about this channel !
Only thing that is still different to the FF effect is the timing of the camera. In FF the camera moves AFTER the teleport of the character, in your version it is simultanious, camera and wrap happen at the same time, that's why the particle effect is barely visible. But this could be fixed really quick and the video itself is really great! Keep up the good work :)
This also has to do a lot with the fact that noctis has much more fleshed out throwing animation and so the sword goes flying before his animation has finished. It's cause his arm still carries momentum from the throw and the loose ruling is that he ports when the weapon itself lands at location. If he messes around with the timings and adds animation during sword travel, then as long as the camera follows the physical player, he won't have to mess with the camera timing that much. Big reason for the camera being "delayed" is to let you see the momentum and power Noctis puts into his throw, which creates a more impactful effect and feeling. It's also why he tends to jump up in the air or remain airborne because you can then exaggerate his movement and create rotational momentum and the eye gets something to look at because he's still in motion. That being said, that's what animation teams and or combat-animation artists/choreographers are for in the first place. Since it's not so much animation magic or gameplay design as it is just general understanding of choreography. He still more or less nails the original concept.
Just found your channel. This is so great. I was a Unity game development teacher at a university; I would have definitely showed them your channel, but I don't teach there anymore.
This video is amazing! It is great for people who have already some knowledge of Unity, because you give an idea of what you did and wich tools you used, so that we ourselves can research how to use them, making the video itself very lightweight to watch, but also very heavy on insights! I never thought about "borrowing" animations from the net, and that site sure seems to have some pretty good ones!
Hey, just so you know I found you through your twitter post. I’m really glad you did. I just recently started working with unity and all your videos have given me a good look into a lot of things I’ve seen in games and always wondered how to recreate. Your channel is gonna blow up soon- mark my words!!
Most channels that show this stuff have a screenshot that isn't the actual implementation, and the end result is never as close as you want it to be. But your implementation is legit! Nice work!
Hey man I just found your channel from your Reddit post. I love how you go step by step through your process and make it simple to understand how you made each mechanic. It's really motivating, keep it up!!
It’s insane how you can do all this in what seems like probably a few hours when it takes full teams months. Not to mention all the non-buffered detail you go into to explain and give direct actions and visualizations so even people who may have no understanding can follow along (ie; me still learning) Definitely have a new sub here.
Hey, I only found out about this channel last night, but everything I've seen is really good, and 2 or 3 uploads a month?!?! That's super fast for the work you're doing! I'll be sure to share this channel with some of my friends, this channel is gonna be big, I can tell.
Wow. The amount of work you spent on this video is amazing! You not only did an excellent job on the actual warp strike project, you did an amazing job editing this video to have your narration match what you're showing. Bravo good sir! Subscribing!
Man, I am so glad that I discover this channel and thanks to random recommendation. I don't have any programs or skills for game development but I am curious how did they make games. Thank you and it is really informative.
This is amazing. Truth be told I always wanted to work with the software to create but was always put off by not knowing how. The combat and story I would love to bring to life... maybe one day...
Dude, super underrated channel! Just found you and looked through some videos. My god.... underrated is an understatement dude if anything. You definitely deserve more attention. Amazing job dude! Keep this amazing shit up!
holy crap this is awesome! I love how short yet detailed but to the point you are with your process. if that makes any sense xD I just really really like this. :DD
This is so cool!! I don't know how to code that much, so seeing you recreate something from one of my favorite game amazes me, 10/10 would code again :D
Awesome video! The pacing is nice and concise, but there's just enough detail so that you can figure it out for yourself. So many guides get lost in explanations that are easily findable on the net already. Also, the fact that you put forth the effort to polish it is great as well. Many gamedev guides out there don't really seem to realize the effect of good presentation, but you clearly do.
"Warpstrike from Final Fantasy XV" *FF7 music starts playing* Jokes aside, this was a really cool video! Definitely worth the watch, it's amazing how well you managed to recreate the warpstrike itself.
As an idea: Try to make the signs from 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' please! Especially Aard, the shock wave, is interesting! P.S.: Great channel, you and your quality are just amazing!
This is so good! Thank you very much for showing off how you accomplished this! Just enough detail to let people know how you did it, without going into too much to overwhelm. Also, the quality of the effects you used is really impressive! I was convinced this was an Unreal tutorial when I clicked on the video! This also helped me overcome a hurdle I've been struggling with for awhile, which was determining how games handle warp systems (E.g. do they just teleport the player there? Is it animation based? Or do they use some sort of lerp?)
I always had an interest in computer programming and currently taking classes in my highschool. This video definitely confirms it. I guess I finally decided on what my major will be now in college :D
Such an amazing work really well done and super motivated! In a near future would you be able to do a entire course? Such as learning how to program solve by making games, or anything that you would prefer :)
I'm not tryna criticize, this is still amazing, but in the game he yeets his sword and waits for it to hit the enemy before warping, still you did a great job
@@donotdisturb9105 it's easy to understand without knowing game development. Basically teleport once the game sees that the sword touches the enemy with in-game physics
If I had one small bit of criticism to give to such an outstanding work, it would be that you usually show the final result of your project before going on with the making process. I think using work in progress footage for this bit would preserve the impact of the end reveal, where we can see it all come together ! Giving a sneak peek at what it's gonna look like to tease the viewer is fine, but having it be something around 50% finished would avoid spoiling it all while still giving a good idea of how it shapes up. Incredible work nonetheless, always super satisfying to watch !
Thank you for your feedback! I used to think like that when I started but then it got to a point where a lot of non-developer people were watching and already had fun checking the result quickly! But I do get what you're saying - I might reconsider! Again - thanks for the comment!!! Cheers!
Mind blowing tutorial, thank you very much ! You explain really well and the work put to the video editing is really nice too ! :) This is very inspiring to see recreation of famous games effects such as yours !
Noctis exists in Tekken 7 and Dissidia Final Fantasy it functions in a similar way except in Tekken 7 Noctis' warp animation takes effect in different ways depending on if you hit the target or not.
That’s freaking cool how you even put the Lock On symbol on too the issue though is Noct doesn’t throw his Sword like that he leans forward to throw it. Plus could you do the Armiger attacks? That’d be amazing
This channel will blow up soon for sure. The consistency in quality so far has been amazing.
