No problem, sorry to here about house fire. I think Kirby have come along and and a lot of things have changed for the better. The hard floor attachment i preferred being able to take wheels out , to clean of lint and dog hair. Love my Avalir 2 great investment
@@KirbyEnthusiast ok cool thanks for the reply. In my area I have an opportunity to buy a g5 for $100 (us dollars). Same seller has a ultimate g for $115 and another ultimate g with what seems like all the attachments for $160. He claims to have completely cleaned each machine, new inner and outer bag and new belt. Each machine looks great too so I'm trying to narrow it down. I don't really need attachment. I have two wet dry vacuums with plenty of attachment for them. So of these which would you buy??
brian beck I go the ultimate G. I think that is the better machine . The G5 only has a 600w motor . Kirby lowered it on the G5 then went back upto 635w from the G6 again. Plus you’ll have more airflow from the upgraded mini emptor
No, they didn't "decrease" the motor's power, they made it more efficient. I put the em-tor of a g5 with a paper bag on my avalir 2 and it still pulls 140 CFM. If you listen to a g3 and an avalir 2, the avalir 2 will sound considerably faster
Wait until you see my decembers up load video , I used to work for Kirby and have 2 700w G3s and a 700w G4.. Kirby reduced the later G4s down to 635w which is what is running from the late G4 right upto the Avalir 2. Ring Kirby they will confirm this .

My favorite is the Diamond Edition. My least favorite is probably Sentria II or Avalir 2. The Sentria is alright. The G7 has the Gsix emtor. My Sentria has the newer Avalir 2 style one. I love the older G series more. I love the square headlight all thta. Good video as always.
@@KirbyEnthusiast I don't see any evidence anywhere that the g3/early g4 had more power in the 110v version. They all seem to be 7 amp motors. Looks like they saved the best for the u.k and Aus.
I though that was for coins, I inherited my grandmothers Legends 2 and as I was cleaning it (it was really that dirty, just a new habit since Coved on new used items) I saw that and it looked like it was for coins.
Hi Patrick. I am writing from Madrid. From all the accessories between G Ultimate and Sentria, did they change the hose? It is so hard to get information on the Internet... Thank you very much for your video!!!

@@KirbyEnthusiast ill let u know in a few days. I was actually going to drive there afew mins ago to see if they toss any goodies in the dumpster, buts its snowing like hell tonight!
The difference between the G3 and G4 was in the tech drive, they made the shifting more smooth. They also changed the fan blade between the G4 and the G5 from plastic to Kevlar. You may also want to check into your smacking of your lips or clicking if your tongue out gets really annoying really fast.
I have yet to update this video , I had only been on TH-cam 4 months when I recorded this . We all have to start somewhere, hence our 1st videos are always our worst as we learn to become more comfortable in front of the camera. The G4 was the last Kirby to have a Grey fan , then Kirby worked with NASA to improve fan design .
Thanks for the in-depth review, one can notice, that you are THE expert on Kirby's. I was considering to buy a G6 for my family, but unfortunately it was too heavy and loud for my wife - what would you say: Are the later models, for instance the Sentrias, lighter and less loud? Have a nice sunday, good sir💪
The Sentria 2 , Avalir 1 and 2 are a little lighter, due to the base being Composite instead of Aluminium like the G series. If you are in europe they now have a muffler in the bag to make them a little quieter.
I still use my g4, it’s worth upgrading the mini emptor to later style if g4 still runs well Then I’d recommend that until G4 wears out . Should be link in description to upgrade parts in my Amazon Kirby shop
Would you know how Kirby makes their vacuums to run on UK mains power? Here in the states my G4 is rated for 120V 50-60hz. I'm guessing if I tried to run my specific kirby on UK/Europe mains, I'd probably destroy the vac or trip a breaker!
@@KirbyEnthusiast back in the late 90s, I was growing up in Cleveland OH where Kirby is based. While taking a German class, the teacher told us to pass the words to our families that Kirby was looking for a receptionist who spoke German to handle affairs in 🇦🇹🇩🇪🇨🇭
When we demo the G3 we always used the baird meters with black cloths and sand. It's interesting that you mentioned using salt as we were always told that salt causes damage to the tech drive, not sure how? I had no reason to disbelieve it at the time, but since looking around online for this info has come back with nothing, I can only assume this was nonsense. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Really enjoying your content by the way, thanks!!!
Never heard of salt damage , I’m assuming they are on about the aluminium. But the amount of table salt we would put down was minimal. I remember the black cloths with the red dot in the middle for the Velcro and the 3 springs you would slide over to hold it on. Used to use these on the mattress test . Shocking the amount of dead skin you would pull out of peoples beds .Real selling point in the demos
@@KirbyEnthusiast thanks for the reply, so pure nonsense then. I'm guessing that a service guy once had to repair a tech drive system and found some salt inside and added 2 and 2 to make 5. Then I guess they told someone and that info just got handed down throughout the branch. Those black cloths were horrible, and big too. So by the time you'd finished the whole room was covered with these filthy black cloths. I remember pulling an inch high pile of GREEN dust/powder out of someone's matress! Not so happy days!
