    I think Brittany Parks's choreo was the closest one to Dua Lipa. Will Johnson's was the most original one. And Brittany Cavaco's ballet version was the hardest one, because you know the song's beat is quite slow for this type of choreography, it's unbelievable how she managed to keep still in various positions now and then.

    • @merry_christmas
      @merry_christmas 3 ปีที่แล้ว +131

      I realized the song is instrumentally monotone/boring. For lyrical dancing it's great, but ballet typically needs a lot more melody to play with (elongations, accelerators, etc).

      There's so much to learn across the different dance styles. The fundamentals may be the same (like kick ball change), but the accentuation, flair and nuances can change the feel of the movement. You never really stop learning as a dancer. There's always more to explore. Even the professional dancers I've met like to explore different styles because there's so many different levels that can add up into an individual style.

      @lizzylambardo8103 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Classes are so fun and dance is such an amazing form of self expression! You'll do wonderfully 😊 a couple little tips going in: the mirror can be cruel, so dont put too much stock in what it shows you (mostly use it to make sure you're moving your body properly and that's it); also, dont compare yourself to others in the room bc you never know why they're there or how long they've been dancing. Focus on you and growing yourself. Some high level dancers will occasionally go back to easier classes to work on their foundation and technique. So if you see a really good dancer, watch and learn from them, but dont compare yourself to them. If you walk out of class feeling better about your dance ability than when you went in, you've had a successful class. You got this!

      @@justinpark3996 Nobody gains anything from putting people down or discouraging people (even if you're the one doing it to yourself). I've been dancing for practically my whole life. I really wish someone would've told me this stuff when I was between 8 and 10 years old and just starting to look around and compare myself and being self conscious about the mirror. This is the best advice I could possibly offer to dancers looking to start classes. It can be so intimidating. But if you keep these two things in mind, it'll help a lot! I swear that dance is like, 80% mental game. The other 20% is effort and talent. If you can keep focused and in a healthy mental state, nothing can stop you! Best of luck to you! 🙂❤

    This was so cool to watch! The different styles, the encouraging reactions from the others, the huge differences in how motion (and even stillness) could be expressive - it was so neat! I don't dance, but I feel like trying after watching this.

    There's so much joy in watching how an artist expresses themself, and seeing that shared joy and appreciation in the hearts of the other artists reacting. And what a great song choice too - seriously one of my favourite songs!

    Jazz Britney was so fun to watch! She definitely gave off the vibes of someone who was waiting to have the studio to herself to jam out to her own coreo her own way! Pure fun!

    I thought this song was actually great for ballet as being on pointe is like levitating, and Brittany Cavaco really brought that point home in her choreo.

    There is so much content out there that makes me feel like the world is getting worse and worse with no hope for us to stop the downward spiral we're in.
    3 choreo 1 song (or reverse choreo) - where dancers (/artists) get super hyped for one another is such an uplifting piece of media in this day and age.
    No matter the case of despressos I get, these help me recenter without fail. Thank you everyone at Steezy and the dancers(/artists) featured in every video.

    I love how they are so supportive and appreciative of each others different styles! I think Brittany Parks summed it up best pointing out how each had musicality but 2 completley different styles. How each interprets the music is just so interesting - and so cool. (Oh and the BALLET make me so happy - esp to see it done to a VERY contemporary song)

  • @JaneAustenAteMyCat
    @JaneAustenAteMyCat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    The thing that strikes me, beyond the fact that I really genuinely loved all three, is that the ballet dancer could probably do the contemporary and the jazz, but the others couldn't the ballet. Ballet really teaches complete control over the whole body as well as the full-on physicality to do the leaps and extensions in every direction. I *love* seeing these different interpretations!

    Ahh I was hoping y'all would bring in more styles with this series! I'm loving the variety, and definitely hope to see more of all the styles in the series, as well as maybe more choreographing to songs that don't really "fit" the style of dance 👀
