The temple is dedicated to life, womb , women and menstruation completely and it is represented by Maa(mother) Kamakhya which has a whole lot of tale and history. The temple is one of the Shaktipiths out of 51 others.

@@zingwibrothers In Indian culture it's not a belief system, it's a way of life. These temples are energy houses, consecrated for specific purposes. Do visit south India especially Tamilnadu for more places like this. There are few temples in the north because they bore the brunt of Muslim invasion.

The red "teeka" or "tilak" is a significant mark in Hinduism and has both cultural and religious symbolism. From a scientific perspective, the red teeka is typically made with a substance called "kumkum" or "vermilion," which is made from turmeric and slaked lime or other ingredients.
Here are a few scientific explanations related to the red teeka in Hinduism:
Cultural Significance: The red teeka is often applied on the forehead, specifically on the space between the eyebrows, known as the "ajna chakra" or the "third eye." In Indian culture, this area is considered the seat of memory, concentration, and spirituality. Applying the red teeka is believed to activate this energy center and enhance awareness and focus.
Cooling Effect: Turmeric, one of the primary ingredients in kumkum, possesses cooling properties. When applied on the forehead, it may have a cooling effect on the body, especially in hot climates. This can help prevent excessive heat absorption and maintain a comfortable body temperature.
Medicinal Benefits: Turmeric contains curcumin, a compound known for its various health benefits. It possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and is believed to have a positive impact on overall well-being. The application of turmeric-based kumkum as a teeka might have a subtle medicinal effect.
Psychological Impact: Wearing the red teeka is a part of Hindu religious and cultural traditions. The visual representation of the teeka on the forehead can have a psychological impact on individuals, reminding them of their faith, beliefs, and spiritual practices. This can contribute to a sense of identity, community, and connection with Hindu customs.
The red teeka holds deeper religious and spiritual meanings for Hindus and is often associated with devotion, blessings, and auspiciousness in their religious rituals and ceremonies.

There are three main forms of Divine Mother (Devi) - Mahakali, Mahalakshmi & Mahasarawati. When we combine these three forms together it becomes a triangle. This triangle is what is in Kamakhya dham as the form of yoni (womb). The bindu in the center is from where the cosmos is created, the origin of all. All creation starts from this point which is the combined form of Shiva and Shakti. There are three shaktis - gyan shakti (knowledge), kriya shakti (action) and iccha shakti (willpower). The seed mantra of Kamakhya is Treem. Tree means three. She is the combined shakti of all the three Gods - Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.
Kam ( desire) + Akhya ( eyes) - that shakti which fulfills all your desires through just the glance of her eyes. Kam + Eshwari ( Goddess) - when she glances at you, all desires are fulfilled.
    History -
When Lord Vishnu cut Sati’s lifeless body with his Sudarshan Chakra, shakti peethas sprang up wherever her body part fell on Earth. The origin of all creation is from Divine Mothers womb (yoni), and Kamakhya dham is where Sati’s yoni (Womb) fell.

Each & everything you saw in temple has deep meaning...
    1. At start you saw fruits and sweets outside ... these are offer to god and then you get it back to share with others and now it has blessings which you share with everyone specially the needy.
    2. Entering temple barefoot ... means to connect with mother earth and give respect to mother nature... as we came from nature and will at last end in this nature ... that's why we call earth as mother.
    3. Lion outside temple shows strength, it also means Nature is most strongest form of god and when you enter inside temple leave your ego outside, but it may be different in different temple as per history of that specific temple ... sometimes elephant which represent wealth and wisdom...
    4. Red dot on forehead is known as "Tilak".... it helps in mind relaxation & focus, their is a whole science behind this which is linked to "Mind Chakra" as their is 7 Chakra in human body, generally we use chandan tilak.
    5. In hindu believe system fire is pure form of god or energy ... so we use incense made from flowers and light candle as these are pure.. also in hindu culture we burn the body and don't bury them as after burning everything will be vanished in this nature from which it was born with the help of pure energy of god refer as fire.
    6. taking rounds of temple in clockwise is known as "parikrama"... meaning...everything in these universe has circular motion right from atoms to planets to galaxy and everything is bound together .. always small elements take parikrama of bigger elements thus big elements take care of smaller elements ... so we ask god to take care of us and show respect by doing parikrama
    7. Coconut & its water is the purest form of water and fruits created by mother nature itself .... thats why it has huge importance and used in prayers and offerings
    8. In hindu culture we worship all form of nature ... be it ... trees or animals... as everything is a part of this nature ...
i hope my comments help you to understand but i have a little knowledge ... right guru is very important to understand Sanatan Dharma

The Red Dot is called as Tilak. It is a tradition and have scientific value to protect our Agya chakra.
The Bandana is kind a celebratory wear on head to represent your devotion. No one gives you, you can buy that.
The sweet is Prasadam. Think of it as a sweet with divine energy from the Temple.
The cage thing is actual for people lining up to see the inner part of Temple. It is mostly for crowd control.
Then candle thingy is called Dipak (or Diya). It is a representation of generating energy to offer to God.
The round walk you did is called as Parikrama. It is like absorbing energy from every side of temple.
If you are not in a state to walk, you can simply sit and enjoy the serenity in chaos. That's Bharat (aka India) my friend.

One of the most important temple of Maa Shakti. And not an ordinary temple.
Maa shakti literally means Mother of energies. The universe is getting energy from her, she's the source.

08:21 The red coloured powder is kum kum /sindoor/suhaaga etc. It is a pigment considered a symbol of fortune, austerity, purity of soul and spirituality, which is considered to be loved by gods. When it is put on mid forehead it is supposed to alleviate your spiritual level and chakras, and also considered a blessing.
That's why you find it everywhere in south asia.
When it is applied to the head then we say we are putting a 'teekaa' on your head, and also worn by women as bindis. And in midhairline as a symbol of married women.

This is a temple built in ancient period..in 15th century, the original temple was destroyed by kalapahaar, an invader. But it was reconstructed by veer chilaraya, of konch Bihar. It is a main centre of Shakti upasana. The energy inside the temple and in the nilachala pahar(hill) is tremendous.
