3:30 Ford Motor Co. Europe really made a huge mistake by not making the road going homolegated version available for sale in the Australian market, if they had it would have been a case of "win on Sunday...sell out on Monday". Instead treating the Australian public to "look at how great and fast and powerful our little (GM)Holden killer is...but you can't have it!!"

I've seen a documentary on the Ford Sierra with Dick Johnson where they took the turbo off the race car, and it only made 90hp.
Every time he jumped into the vehicle, he would reach to boost nob and put on max boost and shoot off into the race track.
Some of these vehicles produce 650 hp for qualifying for 1st grid position.

@ - if you only knew the truth .
Speak to Allan Gow the 87 team manager - mick Webb the head mechanic or any of the other mechanics they will tell you the truth -
Allan Grice and Larry Perkins were asked why they didn’t use 12” tyres like the Mobil cars - they both said legally they won’t fit .
In 1982 ATCC - one car was scrutineered 6 times and was disqualified 6 times .
      1988 rd 1 ATCC - disqualified for cheating .
1978 Sandown rd of ATCC Car 05 disqualified - cheating again which went back to Bathurst 1975.
We can go on about 79 + 84 Bathursts - but it gets embarrassing and humiliating .

The Eggenberger Texaco Sierras rolled the front guard lips to prevent cutting taller front tyres. They were not the only entrants to roll their guards, but it sure cost ‘em. The Texaco Sierras were bloody fast and would have likely won on legal wheels, tyres and front wheel arches, but they didn’t think it would be a big issue. BMW and Ford were breaking the same rules consistently in the World Touring Car Championship of 1987 without issue. Silly buggers, and a sad day for Ford fans.
Dick Johnson wasn’t completely negative about the Sierra. I remember a few times when he lamented about how fast the Sierra was in comparison to the new V8 Supercar category, one time in particular he mentioned how the Sierra “really used to boogie” up and down the straights at Bathurst.

The Sierra was good but the bores were fragile. Everyone split bores. Dick Johnson has his own engine building facility, and they worked out the main cap bolts lined up with head studs so drilled through the block and this braced the block and kept the head gaskets somewhere near the deck. Also this stopped bore twist somewhat plus much more. Also they tested one of their race enigines on the dyno bypassed the the turbo and made 110 horsepower or something then they turned over 620hp +. John Bowe Johnsons co driver thought it mental going from 110-620+ in an eye flash. Further the europeans that had the chip machines didn't play ball, so Johnson used a contact in rally circles to obtain one and opened up the injector cycles to whip it good, Devo. The GTR32 was the ultimate weapon at Bathurst nut the Sierra was formidable.

That was the most entertaining video about the history of the Bathurst 1000 I have ever seen - I haven't stopped laughing in 10 minutes - this must be a parody !!! - but I will make two points 1- Bathurst is a very tribal race- usually blue oval V the lion. The ford fans hated the sierra, and the Longhurst sierra (1988 B&H - with Mezera - I was there) had a yellow oval (it's in the museum at hell corner if you want to check)
2- yes the Klauses dominated the WTCC - helped a lot by the fact they cheated.
FISA suck! FISA suck! Crowd chant greeting Ludwig and neidwitz onto podium.
