Hai Zin Lim, I have been use your technique when I'm Drawing and it works. Sometimes I put a lot of detail so, it looks weird. Thank you for sharing this. You teach me a lot of charcoal drawing technique. Thank you so much
thank you for this. i just drew along with you and I'm kinda surprised how my drawing turned out. I've never worked with this technique before and it's so fun. thank you for sharing your skills!!!
What a valuable resource you are to artist of all levels. I understand most of the planes of the head but am sometimes at a loss on some of the construction lines you start with but towards the end of this demo one that was particularly confusing came to an "ah ha" moment when you used it to put in a dark at the precise place needed. Thank you for your efforts to educate us with so much thirst to learn. Many great artist throughout history and you stand tall amongst them.
Thank you man for this amazing tutorials.Your tutorials are by far the best even though there is no voice. Proko is good too but he's rushing hes tutorials and yours is just,no words....Im progressing really quickly with drawing thanks to you.
This is indeed an excellent record of a highly skilled artist at work. But your comment on Proko’s work is misleading: his lessons are at an early student level and address explanatory in the Brady sense
Thank you so much .You are talented beyond words. Be nice to have the reference on the side of the screen so that we can better follow your line of thoughts.
These are awesome Zin thanks again, reminds me of the Voltaire drawing cast. You seem to use a blend of styles starting with a circle like bridgeman method, then switch to a more academic block in and separation of light and dark using the core shadow and mass shadow shape. Finishing with edges out of the core shadows and into the half tones. I'm starting to work in much the same way my problem is that when I start with a circle it's hard to draw that circle in the correct proportion when compared to just using a more academic straight line block in. I still have problems keeping my values separate, as I tend to over work some areas and values become too close.
Thanks for watching video and commenting your impression. I've used this approach for a college level class, Head Drawing. Because the step's break-down is clear so that students feel easy to follow. My personal style is rather close to the other video, Allegro 96 which is not suitable for a representational drawing class. I have same obstacles, such as; drawing accurate circle and value apportion so I continue playing to solve the puzzle game.
awsome that it's possible to get feedback once a month! In case you become a patron for 10 dollars a month (or more with more possibilities of course) Hope you will get soon the 500 dollars a month, good for you good as our teacher good for us being your pupils. Thanks a lot for your inspiring way of teaching
Thanks for sharing this and giving insight into your progress. I would love to see even more explanations and insights into what decisions you make. Great video, I enjoyed sketching along!
hi thank you.. i would like suggest that can you put also the reference for this step by step tutorial..i want see how you modify the value from the reference😊 please make a video again like this with reference thank you❤
Artists like Zin Lim seem to know how each brushstroke or pencil mark will 'read' even before they've made it. Exceptional talent.
TooleyPeter Its just repetition of patterns and measurement, not magic!

Do you have videos on or using graphite pencils?
NOt yet
Woooo
only problem is.. I have no charcoal...
where can you buy charcoal?
At an art store you can find one.
here at our place there's no art stores. only regular stores. and they sell graphite pencils. but they don't sell charcoal.
Amazon?
Thank you. I like your style. Please show your reference.
I do not have one for this demo.

What method do you use to shape/sharpen your HB charcoal pencil? Thanks.
Utility knife and sand paper
