This video shows you how to tie and dye the Steal Your Face pattern.
1. Shirt is soaked overnight in soda ash and spun out in a washing machine.
2. Turn the shirt inside-out. Flatten shirt and line up seams. Repeat on the second shirt. Stack shirts front-to-front.
3. Draw pattern on shirt with a washable marker.
4. Pleat and scrunch along the lines and bind.
5. Fold the rest of the shirt (pleat or scrunch is usually best) and bind.
6. Dye along lines and smoosh.
7. Dye the inside sections of the image and smoosh.
8. Dye the rest of the shirt and smoosh.
9. Flip shirt and repeat steps 6, 7, and 8.
10. Add black to the part of the shirt that’s not the image, with a foam brush.
11. Flip and repeat step 9.
12. Let cure for 24 hours at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
13. Open the piece and wash in the washing machine. Two cold cycles and one hot cycle. You can put newly opened tie dye in the same wash or use old fabric (I use old towels if I only have one or two new tie dye pieces).
14. Hang dry.

incredable! Thank you for your time and sharing your art!🤯
Interesting process. Guessing the "smooch" is done with a cotton towel?
You guessed correctly, thanks for watching!
Sweet, thanks for sharing! Icant believe you went for the two-for!
Thas incredible!
hahah thanks for watching!
What’s the purpose of the smoosh? Does it help prevent bleeding?
That is correct, it soaks up excess dye!
😮 completamente alucinante!!! Impresionante de verdad!!!❤
Very cool I’ve been waiting for you to come up with something to post can’t wait for future videos😁✌️
Came out great! Great work! Thanks for sharing! Much ❤! 😎🤙💨
So this is what a dirty hippie comes up with from a Pizza Hut box? I can't imagine what Mooses Tooth, Alaska's best, pizza and IPA would inspire.
🤣I've upgraded to an automotive toolbox box. More sturdy, more rigid, less dye absorption. You send me some of those random pizzas though, and we will see!
Simply amazing.
How do you thicken your dye gum or alginate? How much do you use?
I don't thicken my dyes, thanks for watching!
Do u have a pattern for the cardboard stealie that you can share a link for
I do not, sorry! I usually use a projector to make stencils.
