I saw Augie at the Shell about 15 years ago and brah killed it. He and Jo Koy could do an amazing show together

Being the same mix and growing up around Filipinos, I could hear the accent before he said anything lol. Only difference is my mom is the Filipino parent. And no, we are not Mexican 😄
I am curious, please, don’t take offense to this, because it is literally just a question of curiosity that you can’t ask a regular old white American, because they won’t know the answer. Why is Pilipino spelled with an F, when, to my knowledge, there is no F in Tagalog or in the Pilipino language. My best friend for many years would always say let’s go to the crap department instead of the craft department and we just thought it was hilarious. So why is it spelled that way?
@@ShadowpixyI’m not Filipino but I would venture to guess it is just anglicized that way. Same way Japan is actually called Nihon. Germany is actually Deutschland.

The guy with a Bluetooth doing the Haka down the street was really funny. When I went to Hawaii and saw them do it the first time, I thought it was hilarious when they stuck their tongues out. Yes, I know what it means.

Even on the big island we get Sonne ( they call Sony) on the show with the Chapman’s- da kine bail bonds men- how is sonne these days? Shout out to helping the youth with fighting. You never get enough exposure - you like help hawaiian youth see sonne- at rhe old airport boxing school he has that you won’t even know is there unless you catch him training whatever kid shows up and says they want to learn- this man needs a Nobel peace prize and Elaine Watai for her work with the youth.-and many more but those are two that come to mind right off the top of my head. Mocking mental illness via a joke that was tired before I was born...
I’m sure I’m gonna catch flack for this and I don’t really care. It’s my opinion, and I’m entitled to it; the homeless thing about the people being violent with themselves, or talking like that themselves, which I have personally witnessed, isn’t funny to me because you know that person needs help. More than just food. There is some kind of addiction or mental illness going on there and I just don’t think that’s funny.
A talented comedian can bring attention and lightheartedness to that which is sad, dark, and generally unpreventable by the average individual.
That being said, you have a kind heart, and I understand where you are coming from.
Sometimes hue-more helps people face what might be otherwise uncomfortable and/or painful.

Alisa I’m with you on this one too. Generally “punching up” is good taste in comedy, but “punching down” is less funny.

This is type of comedian that got into comedy from making a twat of himself at school (the kid that never realized when people were picking on them)
I was stationed on Hawaii for three horrible years. It's a place where everyone hates everyone.
So was Ice-T, army ranger. I was at Ft Ord California, too expensive to do anything but drink. Lightfighter.

no, o'ahu locals especially kanaka have a rough spot for the military because of what has happened on military. also, again, o'ahu pretty rough
