- Did you know this crazy fact about Inside Out 2? When the first Inside Out was released, Disney had no plans for a sequel. The director even mentioned that he had no ideas for continuing Riley's story. However, as some original films didn't make much money, Pixar decided it was time to bring back old hits with sequels, leading to the announcements of Inside Out 2 and Zootopia 2. Interestingly, when they decided to revisit Riley's story, the technology used to create the emotions in the first film was considered obsolete and had been discarded. Because of this, each character had to be recreated from scratch. Just redoing Joy, with all her intricate particles, hair, eyes, and dress details, took over a year. New animation, shading, and lighting tools had to be developed, which is why the film is taking longer than Disney initially expected. It's a huge effort to make this incredible film happen.

Nah that's what Disney has always done. Look how many versions of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Freaky Friday and other Disney classics exists. Their formula has always been if it's popular remake it till people get tired of it.

The filmmakers took good time and effort into this amazing sequel! I never even knew it would happen since someone made fake trailers for it. Inside Out 2 is equally as great as the original! You know, I think both movies are tied for the title of Favorite Movie Ever!
I saw the trailer and was like "wait... that doesn't look like the emotions. They look different." And now I know why!

I'm genuinely surprised that Disney or Pixar don't vault the assets that they create for these movies. Even if they consider the tech to be dated, the ability to use the models for promotional and merchandising purposes seems so rife with possibility that its almost a total blunder of a choice to scrap them completely.

Take your time and do it right, you’ll end up with a good movie. I think this is one of the main reasons why the people who make movies and need to actually care about the content of what they’re making, and not just what they think the fans would like. Both movies are a work of art, and I hope it takes a long time until a 3rd movie comes out, but that we get little Disney shows like thought bubbles. I never knew about that show until a week ago.
In the 1st movie, their console was upgraded. Shouldn't that be a clue that there'll be new emotions one day? And here is it.
