you have done great by showcasing these understated beauties. I dont know why the trend doesnt catches up in India, outside India these are absolute exotics. I have had some dedicated planted setups in past with these fishes, but they never garnered that respect/attention(say as a typical characin tank) by fellow hobbysists or our Indian online community in general. Thanks to the falling trend its getting extremely difficult to get them now through dealers. Only viable chance now is to go and collect whatever we can find locally here(which I dont prescribe to). We have encountered phutunios, gelius, sophore, badis, a couple of odd killies here but nothing much in recent past due to development activities around the habitats...I hope people give them the attention they deserve.
We agree with your comments 100%. They are valuable and represents the ground realities. But to reverse the trends, effort needs to be put and this is the minimum that we can do. We will try to put more contents on this subject. Thanks again for your valuable feedback
Hi sir Amazing video got to know a lot ! ✨ I had one query can I keep these dwarf banded barbs with shrimps , I have amano , red nose and some cherries ? Will they go together with this small barb species ?
Thank you for your appreciation. Any shrimp is a good snack for the fish as long as they fit their mouth :) So shrimps are best kept alone, and if at all you want to keep them with fish please keep them with small fish and with enough hiding space
@@ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870 dada I have one 15 *10*10 inches planted tank. Would like to make it a barb only tank should I keep a school of narayan barb or cherry barbs would be better.

We think that any fish will love to feast upon baby shrimps whatever may be the type. But if you are keeping them in a heavily planted aquarium there is considerable chance of the babies to survive
Very difficult question to answer. Depends on which part of the country you are from. But in any case we are not keeping much of wild caught fish now a days as stabilizing them takes a lot of time and effort and mortality is high unless stabilization is done properly

Didn't know that Indian fishes are so beautiful!
They are, but mostly wild collected and hence difficult to acclimatise
A video that will stand out among all other videos on fishes..

Just awestruck at the extensive aquafauna from Indian waters
