When I played one during a one shot, I had quite a lot of fun combining Bastion of Law on myself with a high upcast Armor of Agathys (replaced Alarm), since even if BoL nullifies all damage, there was still a trigger for taking damage, thus activating AoA.
That’s pretty sneaky, I like it. Between this, aid and maybe the shield spell you could make quite a tanky sorcerer. The lower HP is my only issue with that idea.
I was going to point this out as well. An upcast AoA (5th or 6th lvl) gives you 25-30 temp HP, and everyone who hits you takes the same amount of damage, and you can use BoL to mitigate damage to ensure that AoA stays up whilst dealing some nasty damage, and this does not require concentration to pull off, leaving you able to use that for something else.
I hope everyone enjoyed the video. I’m still trying to work out the kinks with the new camera. I’m sure you will still enjoy listening and reading the spell descriptions.
Love the content man! I recommend checking out the spiffing Brits new video on using the community tab to help grow your channel. There is an exploit with the community tab
i’m taking mine in the frontline fighter way because i want him to use his abilities for his gain not to keep balance he doesn’t care for the balance or to help. i’m very excited i love him
That sounds like a really intersting build, I don't know a lot of sorcerers focusing on the front line melee combat. I would love to hear how it goes for you.
You should review the aberrant mind sorcerer sometime soon it can do some pretty cool things such as creating a mini black hole once every long rest (or you can do it again for 5 sorcery points)
Think you missed a massive perk of aid. With extended spell you cam cast it before a long rest amd then you get extra hp and all your spells and sorcery points. Combine that with extended mage armor , armor of agathys, ispiring leader and your bastion of law and you can mutigate a huge amount of damage
You make a couple statements in the video that makes me wonder if you read the spells so I just got to set the record straight. While you nailed it with Alarm, it's simply criminal you did not state that Protection from Evil and Good consumes the material component. That's a very important piece of any spell and it's a somewhat weak spell seeing at it's really only useful if you're playing against those certain types of creatures. I wouldn't keep it as a sorcerer unless your in Avernus or another setting that makes it worth taking. Instead simply take Absorb Elements and Armor of Agathys. Agathys, combined with Bastion of Law & Aid, is downright NASTY to attacking creatures. Its not just the Temp HP but the deterrence to being attacked that makes it so good. You're not a Healer so you should dump lesser restoration unless no one else has it. For Aid, the value of this spell can only be detected when you actually play the game. Now that sound condescending, but it's really not something that looks good on paper. Its value is discovered with experience. Multiple times have those few hit points avoided a TPK for my group. Dispel Magic is good but Protection from Energy is not. You really should swap that spell out since its concentration means that when it serves its purpose of reducing damage you can lose concentration from having taken damage. Just take counterspell or Tiny Servant. Summon construct is amazing because Sorcerers cannot summon normally however freedom of movement is just okay. Compared to the incredible spell that is polymorph, freedom of movement can't compare. Now Wall of Force is the best 5th level spell in the game. Greater restoration, just like lesser restoration, should be left to your healer. Fifth level is tough, my first thought would be to take telekinesis however you can take that as a sorcerer spell. The stand-outs would likely be either Passwall or Transmute Rock as they are not sorcerer spells. Hopefully this helps anyone as Avernus and Icewind are not easy campaigns, you'll need every advantage you can get and that starts with good spell selection.

I think an A. I’m playing one now and love the little guy. He’s a Forest Gnome named Vincent. (Starry Night reference.) Anyway, thanks!
Love your videos! You have such a great narrative voice. Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you, that’s very nice of you to say.
Fun flavor wise have magic missile be heat seaking missiles that are coordinated by the calculations of mechanus

I’ve seen the video and it’s interesting, but would it break the TH-cam TOS?
2:45 they could also be the townspeople from Reboot
Great review!
I was a little shocked when you said minions. Reminds me of people that post pictures of minions on facebook.

your right, that is a great catch.
