People don't get Magnus. He's into his Porsche's, period. He doesn't compete, he's into the car and has his own world.
I really respect him for that. Do your own thing. Forget the rest.
Well, he did compete before he started collecting.
Of course, but that's not my meaning at all. He's not into whipping out his virtual penis to prove to people he has a better Porsche than you. If he was like this, he'd be driving the newest of the new Porsches and modifying them to 1000 HP. That's not his scene.
I totally agree with you. He's an individual, not a follower. That has to be respected.
I mean the least he can do is keep these cars running after the net loss he created with hot topic and the resulting overweight emo girls with 70 piercings
many would say that high levels of creative productivity aren't possible for the "ego competitive". magnus demonstrates this.

I own 03 996TT, and love older Porsches, This video is probably one of my fav by Magnus, Funny thing is when he mentioned about posters on the wall. Because I have one of 996TT on the wall from autoshow in my garage--- back in 2001 -
I told my self that the day will come and I WILL own one, now i have one and same poster on the wall - Every time I pop garage door open , I smile.
One of the truly nicest, most passionate car guys I've ever met. Great to see his collection evolve!
I thank this guy for leaving great cars like this as stock as possible. too many cars these days are being torn to shreds for speed. sometimes you just have to enjoy the ride.
I interrupted Mr. Walker one day in November as he sat near his car along PCH. Wonderful if brief interaction, and came away impressed with his positive attitude.
i would happily watch and listen to this guy talk about his Porsche's all day long!

Thank you Magnus for sharing your beautiful Porsche collection with us. I think the fact that one of those cars can sit for so long and then run perfectly is a wonderful testament to how those cars are built.
Worth it just to hear him say "Boost" over and over in his amazing Yankee/Northern English hybrid accent.
I'd love to just sit and talk Porsches all day with him. Not many people anymore care for cars and actually know anything. Magnus Walker is a prime example of a true car enthusiast.
Yup the '76 Minerva Blue is my favorite but that '77 Ice Green Metallic is close behind

I own the identical car the silver 3 liter turbo 930. I LOVE IT 1976. My engine is out, I have a 500HP 3.4 liter motor. The 3 liter I still own. Greetings from Australia

I keeped getting pulled over bye the Police as they thought the car was stolen or I shouldn't be in it. The Police officer always used to say how did you manage to own a car like this. I reply, bloody hard work. It has new triple stitch interior, 5 speed gear box, engine, big money spend on this 930. Greetings from Australia

I drove an 930 turbo Targa but with the bigger intercooled Engine and it was insane... when the boost kicks in...all Hell breaks loose. Was one Hell of a Experience.
The Targa turbo!? That is an incredibly rare car - only 193 cars. Congrats!

My dad had a 89 targa turbo. Loved that car. Wish he would of kept it.

wow, i have to say these cars just hypnotized me throughout the vid, so gorgeous.
This video came in 2013, before the hundreds of RWB videos that started popping up in the last 5 years. Magnus was ahead of his time, starting in the early 2000's. I bought my first Porsche in 2007, still ahead of the 911 craze. Wish I had scooped up all of those 930s for 25k and G bodies for 5k.
Well done, Magnus. That's an excellent film about your collection - and indeed about the Porsche brand.
I currently have a C4S and am expecting to change to a 911 Turbo or Turbo S next year. Every Porsche owner I've ever spoken to agrees that nothing drives like a Porsche - and all also agree, that they'd never have any other make of car.
What more can you say?

From what I've read he sold felt hats down at Venice Beach in the early 90's, has been described as a "clothing entrepreneur" which probably means "making a bundle of $'s reselling the right bits of old clothing, jeans designer as well renovating/restoring older buildings.
Finally, he seems to be doing quite well doing 911's for a living -
"Magnus Walker’s 1972 Porsche 911 STR II has sold at the annual Pebble Beach auction for $302,500, over double its original estimate of $150,000."
This man's voice is very intriguing. Better then the story tellers in most of Porsche's commercials. Porsche, hire him to commentate on your future commercials! By the way, beautiful cars.

Hello Magnus John from Australia I used to pull 95-100 ks not miles in 1st gear 140-150 ks in 2 nd gear, 3 third gear was good for 240 ks an hours. I couldn't wide 4th out on any race track straight. ITS AN ANIMAL the gearing is huge it just has long legs. Now it has a Ruf spec 3.4 liter Ruf spec engine approx 450 HP with less than 12 pounds of boost. Its running a 915 5 speed box. On excellaration you can put the boot into it an it just lights up the rear tires mate. The 5 speed has quickered the ratio's up more driveable in the streets. I used to only use 3 rd gear in the street 4 the on the fwy. Now I can use 4 th in the streets and 5 th on the freeway. I am about the take of the KKK-27 turbo that has a KKK-29 turbine wheel in it and go to a Garret roller bearing turbo. I believe she will do 600 HP with the original CIS. Its a super strong motor. I have the most utter respect for you Magnus owning all those turbo's I have owned my turbo for almost 20 years I will never sell it. Greetings from Australia cheers mate.

@DennisKololo You're right, there are many modern cars that out perform an old 911. Unless you own one and have the obsession like Magnus obviously has (so do I ) then you don't get it. Watch the video again and listen to this guy, old 911's are in his blood. #911SC

very inspiring. I love the fact, that a collector like him knows his cars that well and even work on it on his own. Not like the most collector which handle cars like a investment.
There was a silver 930 just like that down the street from me, sitting right in front of my bus stop when I was a kid. Love at first sight. I'll have one some day :)

My first experience with a Porsche was in 76 in a 930 turbo as a 9 year old boy. Everything seamed to be at warp speed and I remember the Turbo Lag well! The virus is still there 36 years later.

I absolutely admire Magnus he loves what he loves and did everything he could to get one I'm with s10s how he is with porsches and I hope to one day have a collection of s10s starting with my dad's old 98 s10 blazer 4x4 that I now own and I'll own until the day I die

Funny little thing people don"t realise until they buy one of these Porsches is the
layered timber panel floors , i had to replace mine from wear and tear , i had manufactured aluminium chequer plate replacing the wood :)

There's no lag if you downshift, keep the revs up -- I've driven a 944 Turbo [slightly modified] and knew exactly when that boost was coming on [I know how to drive turbo cars] and had instant-pushed-into-the-back-of-the-seat acceleration every-time.
Damn your eyes Magnus! I have a couple of early cars, a T and an S, and now I seem to want an early Turbo. But in New Zealand right now, the earliest turbos are from 1991, the 964s.
