- In this video we address all the problems with the new daily driver 6.0 powerstroke turbo diesel! Between all the Ford updates and the previous installer error, we had our work cut out for us. Stc fitting, blue spring, 6.4 banjo bolts, stand pipes, dummy plugs, and even the cold side intercooler pipe. We solve the majority of the issues! The truck wouldn’t even go over 55mph, but we got the 6.0 powerstroke running healthy!!

This is why it is essential that these 6.0’s don’t need to end up in the hands of a mechanic who isn’t properly trained. Nice work getting it back in order.
Good to see a non ignorant young guy doing this and being knowledgeable I was around your age when I bought my 06 f350 6.0 in 2008 still have it plus an 03 as well now 👍
Thanks for your videos! You keep me hopeful for my 6.0 🤣
@Alvin Ronan damn nobody cares!
I built fence out of my truck you help me out a lot my friend it makes my living without that truck running I can't make no money
"We have our little *whistle* there" 👌
love seeing 6.0 content. very well done man keep em coming!
You look and sound like an honorable mechanic I wish I had someone like you in my area haha.
Love the large pipe wrench and hammer in the video. my go-to when working on my truck.
good work brother. keep this channel pumnping boss. never sell the 6.0! im keepin mine in the fleet 4 eva
Seeing the stock coolant reservoir triggered me I had so much trouble with the plastic one I had a aluminum one its wonderful
Sweet video man, it’s the little upgrades that can make 6.0s great again!
Your a jewel dude! Going to have my 2005 6.0 head gaskets replaced. They want to charge $4500 is that to much??????????? Thank you.
How many miles was on this truck during this?
I've read somewhere that sometimes the turbo variable pitch part could cause a power loss cause it become sticky. I drove one while working and ended up finding that info. Nice videos.
My 6.0 powerstroke diesel blows out the stand pipe about every 3000 miles. Is there a solution to this problem
Do you recommend a EGR delete for the 6.0?
Love your content. Been watching for a long time and inspired to hoping to start my own channel soon as well to give back content for the 6.0 community.
New to 6.0's but im curious isnt there some tuning that keeps the egr from opening?
Concerning fan clutch/water pump upgrade....how did you terminate the electrical connection from the OEM fan clutch to the 7.3 fan clutch. How does pcm deal with that?
Essential Upgrade for EVERY 6.0 Powerstroke = BIG GREEN DUMPSTER!! LOL!!!!
Just Kidding!! Good Job getting it taken care of!!!
I noticed you installed a j pipe I have one to install I’m gonna order your up pipes to go with it I’m just weary because the j pipe is a bit crooked where the oring is anywhere you recommend I get a j pipe ?
Should you use the Ford OEM EGR cooler connector or the one that comes in the kit ok
my truck has 100k miles -new egr cooler new oil cooler but it is getting oil in coolant, no overheat -no smokes runs perfect, no more than 7 degres between oil temp and water temp.... any opinion?
thanks
At the beginning of the video Cody refers to a box of some type of pipe and said "You guys know what this is......" Please, what is/are those part(s) and if anyone could please provide the part #(s) I would appreciate it. Also, Cody mentions, and refers to 6.4L banjo bolts. Please, where do these go in the engine, and what year(s) of 6.4L, or a part #, should I acquire? I just bought a 2006 F350 w/6.0, and it's going to need quite a bit of work to be roadworthy. Thanks
Love yur channel Cody , very helpful and explanatory . Do yu take on a side work ? Where yu located , would like too chat about getting some work done if so .
I've got a 2006 f350 6.0l has power coming to ignition bur nothing going to engine please help
Your killing it with the videos homie keep it up👌🏼💯
Dude when I bought my Powerstroke I had the same issue I found out that the aluminum threads to the EGR were stripped out and I was a thousand miles away from home so I cleaned it all up and put some JB Weld on it for the night it's held for the past 3 years it's really a shame the previous owner let it go that long I had soot everywhere on the top of the engine but really thinking about getting the odog intake, fuel bowl delete and regulated return....
Do you have the part numbers for the delete kit and the O-rings and gaskets?
Where did you get those metal pipes? Im looking for them cant find anywhere?
Best sounding diesel
Wanted to know where you are located new to channel like it and I also wanted some pointers for my 03 f250
Did you do an EGR delete kit? Which one did you go with
What is the part number for the test plate block off
We have a 2003 F-350 with the 6.0. It just started having an issue. When towing a camper, after the truck is warmed up, it loses power, starts to sputter and eventually stalls. When not towing it acts like a new truck. Any advice?
What is he doing when starting the truck. My 6.0 doesn’t make that sound for that long
Another great video man as always but I do have one recommendation, when you title the video put what you did into the video title. I have a tiktok and a lot of ppl were asking how I did the high idle and I was recommending them your video but they had trouble finding it because the title never stated what you did in it.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Subed. Need to do some things on my 05 excursion. Not as simple as my old 7.3 IDIs
Thanks for all the great content, you and other have helped me through my project. I've just upgraded the STC fitting and oil cooler. If you wouldn't mind answering a question, should I change the oil right away or wait until I've run it for a few miles and then change it?
Run the oil at normal change intervals. No worries, I change oil around 5-7k miles with Schaeffers 5w-40
Yep I love Schaeffers oil best oil out there 💯‼️🤙🏻✌🏻
Thanks for showing the part numbers.
Is it possible to change the oil pan gasket without engine removed?
correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure people just raise the front of the engine which gives you the room u need
Yes, generally you just have to jack the engine up a little to sneak it out.
@@LeftLaneDiesels im 17 looking at buying my first truck. 7.3s are expensive so i was looking for a 6.0. any tips when looking to buy?
Look up diesel tech ron he has a video on it
Dude I think I just need to bring my 6.0 there. lol good job man.
Great video mate - I’m a diesel mechanic from Australia not familiar with these rigs. What would you suggest the best tools to work on a 6.0 are ? For example 3/8 drive tube sockets (common tools needed)
Gonna need to remove intercooler pipes and coolant bottles for most jobs on them, clamps for intercooler pipes are usually 11mm some are 10, coolant bottle is held by two 8mm bolts, valve covers are all 12mm bolts and I believe 13mm studs, Snap-On electric ratchet is almost a must if you want it done quick and easy, also for the oil rail on the passenger side you’ll need a stubby T30, I bought the vim tools stubby kit. Other than that nothing special other than like a specialty tool ford sells for the injector harness plugs but I just use a socket to press them out, I can’t remember which I think I use a 16mm or 17mm, they’re not too hard to work on once you get most of the bolt on stuff out of the way
My truck just said "Dad we should live next to this channel "
Where can I get that cap for the up pipes
So I have a f250 4x4 changed the shocks still making loud clunking noise from the rear end only going over speed bumps but it sounds and sometimes feels like the bed is gonna break any ideas?
Spring isolators, spring eyelet bushings, loose u-bolts, loose shock. If I could see it in person I could find it
Bad body mounts
Uneven sound during cranking before engine start makes me think it has compression issues.
Do you have a part number for the 6.4 banjo bolts please?
Great content my friend. I have a question, imma install new injectors into my 6.0. It has no tunes, just stock. What injectors do you recommend? No heavy hauling, just a daily driver.
OEM from Ford
Thanks a million brother. Awesome work on your great explanations in your awesome videos. Keep up the great work...👍
Where are you located
Great videos, I’ve got a 04, 6.0L with a few upgrade. it’s bulletproof with Kc 2nd turbo, egr delete, Suncoast international in the trans but running the SCT programmer. ( not so happy with ) it just started throwing a code P0407 EGR Sensor B circuit Low, witch there is no egr it has a blocking plate...can you recommend a good custom programmer? I live in Michigan just north of Detroit
Dm me on Instagram @left_lane _cbull
I have a 6.0l Excursion, the only Ford/International parts left really are the block...
Hell yea man good work. Tricky to find the dang oil leaks on these lol it’s like “whack a mole” expert level. I’m curious to see what you find out
Just subbed to your channel man. Love it so far. How long has that stc upgrade kit been out ? I have an 06 the had the stc fittings replaced before I got it but I think I'm getting a HPO leak developing. My icp desired at wot is 2900 and my actual is 1500 to 1800 depending. Ipr percentages is 82. I'll probly be tearing into it here soon. Guess I should have checked when I did the oil cooler since it was right there..lol. Keep up the good work bro 💪
Is the truck tuned?
@@LeftLaneDiesels Yes sir. From what all I've read , my symptoms are pointing towards a weak hpop. Truck starts great cold or hot. No long start, just breaks up really bad under heavy acceleration . Its tuned ,deleted, stage1 kc with 10 blade, studded ,airdog2 ,7.3 fan and aftermarket all aluminum rad and coolant filtration. So it's got alot dont to it. My next upgrades once I get this sorted out is gonna be 155/30 , Odawg sr2 and a ficm tune to help with a faster spool up. I Tow 13k from time to time and do alot of hualing . I do like run my street tune here and there and gave fun also 😁
Can you please show me how to hit FF and have this all happen so fast, please? lol. New subscriber from Canada "eh" 😂 I'll be checking out your other videos as well. Appreciate it
Can you help me. I have coolant coming out the reservoir cap. I bought a new cap and it started doing it again. On cold I’ve topped the coolant to full. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any tips you can give me please.
You could be filling the reservoir too high... correct full level should be less than half full... much lower than the indicator marks show.. or it could be a bad egr cooler or blown head gaskets.
where did you get that egr delete kit from?
Hey man having glow plug issues as well have a code for glow plug cylinder 2 , replaced #2 plug . Code still there . Now a week later . Codes for both glow plug cylinder 2 AND cylinder 5 ... next I’m thinking GPCM ... what do you think ?
Yes most likely a GPCM issue
@@LeftLaneDiesels thank you sir and awesome video ! Just finished replacing exactly what you did on your video . Only leak I have left is a rear cover OR rear main leak
I don’t let any one touch my 6.0. My hands only b
What state are you out of?
I own a 2004 6.0 Dually but the best upgrade might be a 5.9 .
Absolutely
Everything needs to be done
@10:08 I worry about my 6 l when I turn it off. Doesn't want to start when it's warm? I've got a contribution balance cylinder six and cylinder four code and ICP code
Dummy plugs? Possibly
Hard warm start is bad hpop especially if it is an 03-04. Or leaks in the hope system. Contribution codes are usually injectors or bad compression.
Sounds good my man
Where are you from? I live in Ohio. Is Wyse Auto in Ohio? I've got an 03 with 235,000 runs good have done a bit of needed maintenance egts run hot from tired original injectors and turbo.
Yes Wyse Auto Repair is located in Ohio. He is the top notch trans builder for all the Ford diesel trucks
What would you say the best custom heads are to buy when rebuilding a 6.0?
Kill devil diesel o-ring heads! Tell them I sent you!
@@LeftLaneDiesels can you put the link on here so Ik I’m on the right company
@@ReqnBTW below I dropped a link you can follow to make a purchase. You will need to select your dowel size 18mm or 20mm. Then it also gives you options for adding head gaskets, studs, and a valve spring option.

How much is that one piece y pipe

Should have changed your oil cooler when you had intake off.
Have 2005 f250 turbo diesel with egr delete. been running great and love it. I have been driving with no prolbrems . use a scangauge to watch the engine. going to work It just turned off and my IPR pressure was 14.5. came right back on but continued to do that ever once in a while. So I replaced the ipr valve. good for a while but did again. so replaced again and still does it ever once in while. dont have to stop to restart. not sure where to go from here. runs great most of time and gas milage is unchanged. has pleanty of power .
Interesting, potentially a icp sensor issue. What year truck? Replacing with oem ipr?
@@LeftLaneDiesels 2005 and ipr is oem
Will watch icp pressure
@@tonypalmersr.4498 well the ipr % reading is a computer input to the ipr. The number one input is from the icp sensor. I wonder is there is an issue there, check for oil in the pigtail.
@@LeftLaneDiesels ok
love the videos and keep on rockin bud
Do you know any good filter housings
No head studs?
Truck is actually already studded
nice 6.0 great video👍
Great video
Great Video....
Hey guys just a 7.3 dude stopping by things are well ;)
Can you recommend a 5r110 transmission? Sun coast are a bit too pricey for my budget, I'm currently looking at the Warren diesel stock plus
Warren transmissions are good options. But check in with Sam wyse at Wyse Auto, he’s also a leader in the industry for transmissions in our trucks. Tell him I sent you. (419) 576-4465
Just asking, I’m looking at bullet proofing my 6.0 but doing some research I could just buy a stage 3 built long block for a little less, just curious on opinions of buying instead of just bullet proofing..
Show me your pricing. A bulletproofing is around 5k. Define a “stage 3” long block.
Yeah I did my "bulletproof" for 5,200 but I also put a stage 2 cam and had it torn down to the block and did a engine refresh and fixed issues I had because I had lifter failure and had to do a new camshaft my was destroyed from the lifter and I put new up pipes and full 5inch turbo back exhaust and was only out like 5,200
@@joel5716 I was looking at bullet proof diesel saying they have different stages of bulletproofing starting at 6k and going up but I have seen long blocks with stage 2 cams pronged heads valve trains for 8k with forged rods. I’m just curious on what would be better throwing the money in now and still needing to build the bottom end or waiting till mine has a inevitable cooling system failure and replacing it with a built long block..
@@LeftLaneDiesels I’m going off of dynamicdiesel60.com prices. I have had my 6.0 for about a year and love it just am curious about when to throw my money. cab off jobs arn’t cheap.
@@joel5716 where was this done at?
that cranking spell did not sound good it was not a steady load on the starter witch indicates a base/ mechanical engine issue at 15:18 i hear uneven starter load. dieseltechron has a you tube video on this very subject
I disagree with this. Something to keep in mind are the different components that can affect a starter. Such as a wire out starter, poor connections, weak batteries etc. this engine has no internal faults that affect cranking.
nice tee bro!
Some dumb! Ehh and i love ya! The entry
Dude how’d you get them finger nails so short 🤔
what kind of crap has happened in this country when the guy on the TH-cam has to say you guys already know what this is here
Anyone have discreet recommendations on where to go for what’s in the bag lol. I have to with my truck and having trouble locating
We’re becoming a third world toilet with tyrants in power. But other than that everything’s good.
Best upgrade is selling it then buying a 6.7 with all the money you would have put into the 6.0
False I have less than 5k into this truck. Could drive it as is and would be super reliable. 6.7 is 20k plus, then if you take a loan on it, full coverage insurance and expensive truck payments.
@@LeftLaneDiesels yeah i guess i was more of saying from someone's perspective of having to pay someone to do the work
@@whatsBF3 still cheaper than a 20k plus truck. Also 6.7s are more money to maintain and repair.
“Heathy 6.0” 😂doesn’t sound too healthy
