Fiona I found your basket tutorial the BEST. I’ve watched several as I’m getting back into sewing. Thanks for the tip about top stitching and increasing thread length. Lovely idea!
Thank you so much for this awesome tutorial. This is the fastest and easiest basket pattern I've found so far to make. I will be filling mine with homemade Christmas cookies for my grand daughter's preschool teachers! ❤️
Thank you so much for this tutorial, looking forward to giving it a go. Can't wait to visit Woodbridge and your shop again once you are able to open, fingers crossed it will be soon
Thanks! The turning point is inside, just down a side seam as opposed to the bottom, either works but as these are small when you look inside the side seam is less obvious.
I agree, another great tutorial, thank you so much 🌺 but I really don’t like the music at all, there is no reason for it other than to make it difficult to hear the presentation 🙃 hopefully there will be no music in the future.
@@sarahpengelly8439 You’re absolutely correct, always worth experimenting on scrap fabric or paper beforehand if you aren’t sure what you want to achieve. These are such useful containers!
You can make these any size you like, have a play on some scrap fabric. Keep in mind two things, the seam allowance on the base corner will make what you cut larger and you will need to add extra height to the sides of the container. So pleased you are enjoying your sewing.
Hi Fi, a bit late to the party, but I think I missed what weight of interfacing you used? I use H250 would this be sufficient? Which one did you use please? TIA xx
It’s been a while to remember but you can use any interfacing, just depends how rigid you want them also what fabric you’re using. If you use curtain/ furnishing fabric then you could leave the interfacing out as these fabrics tend to be a heavier weight. They’re really useful containers 😁
Curious about using double fabric and interfacing as well - other patterns use a single piece of fabric and interfacing. Agree about the music being distracting. :)
I'm thinking of making these to hold houseplants (of course using a water tray inside to catch any moisture) I've seen some lined with plastic but not keen.
Another great tutorial, thank you Sue, just what I was looking for. Am I the only person to wish you would lose the music? I find it so distracting, and know that people with impaired hearing, like my hubby, would also suffer!
Just found this and by far the best explained tutorial I've seen
I love the little general sewing tips sprinkled through the tutorial.

Very good explained. Thank you so much. Easy to follow❤ coquito
Great tutorial! I find it easier to leave my opening in the bottom of the lining. Then the turning point is inside where you can't see it.

If making even bigger ones, is there a guide for those bottom corners please?
I suppose the bigger the corner the more 'squat' they will be?

Thank you enjoyable.
Thank you for using inches 😊
I am soo please with storage box if I mwant bigger ones what size do you make the corners? Thanks again

It all really depends on how stiff you want your basket to be and what fabric you use. Taken on board re music ✅

Another great tutorial, thank you Sue, just what I was looking for.

Good tutorial music very annoying
Nice tutorial. Very irritating music.
