Book of Acts Lecture 13 AC 240624

This lecture is about Acts chapter 16, where there is a transition between the Gospels and Epistles. The transition goes from Peter to Paul - exclusive to inclusive of the Gentiles. The centre of missionry activity transfers from Jerusalem to Antioch.
In this chapter we see the fiirst mention of Timothy. We also see that Paul and his companions are turned from goining East (Macedonia) to going west into Europe. In Philippi, Lydia, the seller of purple, is the first Christian convrt in Europe.
After delivering a slave girl from a spirit of divination, Paul and Silas are beaten and thown into prison.
Then there is the famous earthquake and the prison gurad and his family are baptise and saved.
Paul refuses to leave the city quietly since he is a Roman citizen and shuild not have been beaten and imprisoned in the first place.
