I cried a little watching this. John's music has always held a very high and special place in my heart, but Lake Marie is my favorite song of all time. Watching him in the chair but still giving it his all is amazing.
Saw him in Paris on February 13 for his last ever concert. The finale ("Lake Marie", "When I Get To Heaven" & "Paradise") was a pure moment of anthology. Unforgettable...
I had just watched him dance the jig off stage to Lake Marie just a few short months before. Seeing him play from that chair broke my heart! Two months later he jigged his way to heaven over a Pink Moon, a song left unwritten here on Earth. They should rename one of the lunar mares, Lake Marie!
Celebrate that we live in a world where we can listen to John Prine sing his incomparable compositions with his totally Prine way of singing ANY song. A great human and unchallenged in the amount of god given talent he shares with us all- even after passing. His music insures John Prine will never die. May he rest near peaceful waters.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! John does get better and better like a bottle of the finest wine. May the lord receive you and bless you for the fruits of your labor.
He never saw what was about to come his way. Just enjoyed his life as only he knew how. Let this be a lesson for all of us JP fans. Live very minute of your life as you don’t know what’s gonna come our way. May God bless and keep John Prine.
Johnny, thank you for posting this. Wonderful to hear him perform the beautiful Lake Marie one more time. He is clearly short of breath and in failing health here. Tragic, but understandable given his health, that Covid took him out. A truly gifted songwriter, and a wonderful human being. His final record, Tree of Forgiveness, is a masterpiece.
From a PAINLESS and MISERABLE country (Chile), I posthumously greet my new IDOL .. JOHN PRINE (before it was Bob Dylan from 1976 until April 7, 2020 when I first heard a song from John). What a great artist, poet of the daily life and prophet for everything there is to live ... I feel very sorry and I thank Johnny Borgan for this legacy that I feel may be his last concert in life .. THANK YOU ... from my deep being with 63 years lived and grateful ... I say goodbye from my country ... from where today it seems to be REBORN from the disastrous ashes of the hands of the DICTATORSHIP-OLIGARCHIC here reigning for more than 30 years. .........................................................................................................................
. . . On the day that I heard here in the U.K. (20.12.21) of your just-elected new leader , a 35 year-old , with , very hopefully , centrist and democratic beliefs - which we can only wish to become policies for the betterment and the inclusion of all Chileans . Mr. Prine would truly wish that also . I , myself , only heard of his name and music at his death from this life ... just ' h o w ' that happened is a bafflement to so very many like ourselves who have so much to discover .

"Lake Marie" is my favorite. You all were so lucky to see this. Good bye Mr. John Prine. My memories of the now canceled 2020 Tønder festival, will forever be perfect- and unashamedly proud. Thank-you in ways God only knows.
He had a collapsed hip and couldn't walk and was in terrible pain; he had emergency hip surgery when he got back to the States, but not long after, because he'd been travelling, he was tested and found to be positive for CV19. Triste.

RIP, wonderful human being and brilliant artist.
Heart breaking less than 2 months later, he's gone. A writer and singer of poetry.

This was shortly before hip surgery. That's why he's sitting down. Lots of pain I imagine.
Legend.
He will be with us all forever

Tror jeg var den yngste på konserten der hehe. (15)
