Another nicname for Montana is the "Leave Me Alone" both in regards of how the people deal with the wilderness and how we tend to not like others being in our space or in our affairs. We are generally pleasant people
Hi Kyle, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your channel! I have been watching a video every night, and I am enjoying them so much!!!! ❤
I recommended in one of your earlier Montana videos to listen to "Montana Cafe" by Hank Williams Jr. I should have waited until this video to do that, because the lyrics "we're on Highway 93" (i.e. US 93) appear twice in the song.
A considerable amount of this segment was spent in the ancient lakebed of Glacial Lake Missoula. You can see wave-cut strandlines in the sides of the mountains from time to time, marking former lake levels, especially around Missoula proper. Ice dam failure of Glacial Lake Missoula is responsible for some of the most striking features of eastern Washington, including Grand Coulee, Dry Falls, and the channeled scablands.
If I am not mistaken, I 🤔 the City and County of Missoula, Montana are located in what used to be Oregon Territory [which means the lands are so, so, so, so, so beautiful 😀😀😀😀😀]. 17:24
The 2nd video from "The Biggest Season Ever" in as few of days. This is a treat as now Tropical Storm "Clinton" gets ready to make landfall in SoCal. Nature's been on a rampage as of late. From these storms hitting SoCal for the 1st time since 1939 to the fires in Maui- which makes the fires in Paradise, CA look like child's play. I'm just hoping that where I'm at, it's just some rain & a little wind & that's it as I'm seen the amount of damage that even a tropical storm can bring to an area from when these storm make downfall in the East Coast or Asian where they're called typhoons.
Good one once again. And some very scenic country there. At least you weren't there in winter! As for "reasonable and prudent"? HAH! Back in the 55 ("Dumbest law since Prohibition") days, if you got caught going between 55 and 80? ISTR it was a $5 fine, payable on the spot to the officer, and not on your record. Folks just kept wads of $5 bills when they went on the interstates....
I agree it’s definitely a dumb law that I can’t believe was implemented for like 20 years. It got repealed right before I was born. Glad I didn’t drive in that era!
@@InterstateKyle It was really dumb-by the end, only the insurance industry, highway patrolmen, and nanny-state types like Ralph Nader and Joan Claybrook were in favor of it. Bill Clinton did the country a favor when he signed the repeal. He knew it was unpopular-and that many in Western States were not happy with Washington telling states what to do. One line from The Gumball Rally sums it up: "55 Miles per Hour is unsafe." "It's boring." "That's why it's unsafe. It's fast enough to kill you, but slow enough to make you think you're safe."
The problem with reasonable was it was left up to law enforcement which means you could get a ticket at 55 mph if the officer felt like it. You could not go as fast as you wanted
Missoula.... I moved there in 1967 from Butte Montana-- the richest hill on earth.. I was 14 years old... I was a UPS driver down town and the rattlesnake area.... loved the town.... now it is a left woke insane gay queer town...... RIP MISSOULA MONTANA..... IT WAS THE LAST BEST PLACE.....
What nonsense! Missoula's UM gathers millions in research dollars, it was cited with the Best New Library in the World award, and people support the community....I'm an old gal and a 5th gen Montanan. PS My Grandpa worked underground in the Butte mines for 40 years.
I have never set foot in the American State of Montana; also known as The Treasure State. Yet, The Treasure State happens to be among my most favorite States in the Union 😀😀😀😀😀. Why is that so? The men, and women of The Treasure State are also what makes it great; in that I consider male and female Montanans, 25≤x

Amen brother!
Lived in Missoula for about 5 years while attending UM. Nothing else like it. Missoula will hold a piece of my heart forever. Go Griz!
Missoula County is bigger then the state of Delaware. One of 56 counties in Montana.
It’s amazing to believe that this highway in the middle of the wilderness also connects 20+ million people.
Very true! Amazing journey that this road goes on across the country.
Montana had no speed limit prior to the national 55 MPH limit. They have only had a speed limit since the middle 70’s. Nevada was the same.
A lot of us still drive like that too.
The reason "reasonable and prudent" couldn't last is substantive due process.
100 pct correct. I recall when safe and prudent was declared against the law. It was a sad day.

Thank you so much! This comment made my day!
"Reasonable and prudent, since humans are neither of those", truer words have never been said.
GO Griz! Very "reasonable and prudent" of you to include that. Looks like I'll get my wish on lookout pass, looking forward to it.

Go Griz! From (smoky, it’s fire season) Missoula, Montana. Cool video!

6-18-2021... We almost crossed paths! We were up in Coeur d'Alene that very day.
I passed through Coeur d’Alene on that day! I drove all the way to the Tri-Cities, Washington from Billings, Montana.

Comical that "Reasonable and Prudent" was replaced with an 80mph limit. Deckchairs duly shuffled. 🤣
The song is Giants' Nest - Holding Anchor. you're welcome.
Driving the true trans Canada highway.

What a dumb comment. Missoula has always been “weird” and is a liberal college town.
