I watched till the end! :) I loved Monster Garage and all of those shows including the motorcycle building shows and keep wondering why no one does it anymore. :(
What happened to Jesse James was what happened to the entire motorcycle industry. It was huge, the custom bike scene, the sportbike world, dirt bikes, etc until the whole recession in 2008. The motorcycle world shrank massively and has not recovered. The prices of new motorcycles are basically double what they were back in the early 2000s.
I worked at a body shop that started painting bikes in like 2003, by 2005 we had two guys actually building bikes. In 2007 it was down to one guy, and a couple tanks a month. Then in January 2009, it was over, and even techs got laid off. A lot of the guys buying choppers were the dudes signing loans on the loans that tanked the economy in my area. It was a joke.
I've heard that he can fight good , Great , Well that's great yet and tuff that's great too and build junk that's great too yet can he doge a bullet? Lol!!
Unfortunately a lot of bikes built for those TV shows were poorly built and engineered, giving their creations a bad reputation. Building sculpture art is one thing, building custom motorcycles involved more, skills. It’s interesting watching some of those custom bikes come up for auction, and what they sell for.
I don’t think that was the case with the stuff JJ built. OCC absolutely, mainly due to how over the top the designs were. A chopper is already unpractical enough without going nuts on the design.

Like the choppers craze of the early 70's, they died out when riders realized they suck to actually ride. Then it happened again in the 90's with West coast and orange county reality shows. Again people eventually realized they were over priced p.o.s. and everyone went back to buying real bikes from companies that know what they're doing. They were fun shows to watch at first but it was the same drama skit over and over. Massive burnout imo.
Cheats on partners, steals customers' money, doesnt pay staff, makes bikes that poisons people, ignores the laws, and makes bikes that are not road worthy and are virtually unrideable, He then treats everyone as if they are the problem, sounds like the perfect American TV show to me. . . OCC !

The dude has the hand made talent of the old world..Where no computer drafted plans exist and everything is done from an idea in your head. It takes hard earned skills and craftsmanship. We now exist in a world where computers design and build everything and people will tolerate mistakes in the name of speed and price. Sad really
This is what happened. They gave him that show just for the sake of having 2 different Biker Build Off specials. The first one was good. Then he publicly burnt his bridge with Discovery. They brought back Monster Garage, not sure if it was successful or not. He released a pilot that nobody picked up, but History channel stole the concept and created Forged In Fire.
So many errors in this video. The fab series of Austin speed shop had 3 episodes. But the reality show had many more, I think 8? Also, it’s called “hot rods by Boyd “ not coddington whatever you said. Pay up sucker tattoo came AFTER he had his business established and people weren’t paying him, hence it being in his palm facing the reader.
I'm sure Jesse James is doing fine, just cuz he's not on TV doesn't mean he's not killing it building bikes
A very talented man.
Jesse was cool at first then as time money and fame went to his head i lost respect for him.
And cheating, no honor bro.
Totally agree
@@thetvbaby83 idc about his personal life behind closed doors thats his business but in public eye his behavior got to be little over the top
I've heard that he can fight good , Great , Well that's great yet and tuff that's great too and build junk that's great too yet can he doge a bullet?
Lol!!
@@thetvbaby83 a man's going to roam as far as he can. Honor has nothing to do with it.
@@user-te3qq1rb7u I remember Jr crying when building a bike because the gas tank wasn't on the shelf and it was missing.
OMG what are we gonna do?
Meanwhile Jesse pounds one out of some sheet steel.
Still ,he's like the Axl Rose of bike building ,great at his craft and a right prick the rest of the time.
Yup. Suckers bought them jj bikes as status symbols. No real biker wants any of those turds Jessica or pauline 'built'
nobody misses this dude.
Thats nuts that unelected state regulations can fine a civilian and have the authority to enforce it.
Thats called California.
His problem was/is that he lets his ego make most of his decisions! You can never be a real man until you have control of your ego.
Went there on a trip to Austin. It was a cool shop but not alot of work going on. Definately different vibe from a regular shop or other custom shops
He's fun to watch. Definitely talented and never know what he's gonna say or do.
The problem is I'm not sure he has an off screen persona .
Not sure his on screen persona is a good fit for being a normal family guy.
He's dream of playing in the NFL was already over when the only school he could play at was Riverside Community College...
Was at Barret Jackson the year all the Monster Garage builds were sold. Interesting to see !!!!
Cheats on partners, steals customers' money, doesnt pay staff, makes bikes that poisons people, ignores the laws, and makes bikes that are not road worthy and are virtually unrideable, He then treats everyone as if they are the problem,
sounds like the perfect American TV show to me. . . OCC !
Has that look when he is talking that he is ready to lose it at any moment.
He had another show in Austin creating custom guns. Made a custom .45cal for the 45th president
I tried to visit the Austin speed shop in Austin but was ran off by some factory workers across the street. I just wanted to meet the man, incould give a shit less about a TV show or a shop.
" factory workers"? in Austin Texas? Lol
So talented but his personality gets to everyone.
🤣🗣Said Mr. Personality himself Mustard on Rye.
Jesse had the skill set, and the personality to be bigger than any Discovery Channel, Spike, or any other Influencer out there. I'm sure he is doing well. He seemed like he had a sh*t ton of common sense and skills. Wish I could meet him
.
From what people are saying about meeting him in the comments, he is a A-Hole
I saw him the other day when I saw bill burr live. He seemed a lot happier than so many who live a dead end life complaining on the internet that’s for sure
I would drop $30k at the drop of a hat a few years ago... now, I hold that same hat on the street corner.
It doesn't hurt Jesse looks cool, is handsome, marketable, and has a cool name. If it was me building stuff on a show, it wouldn't work at all lol
And his early days of wcc was him making fenders for Harley’s that had the chopper look, . I’m only 4 minutes into the video but I can’t finish too many errors
What do you think Boyd's last name was?
I live in same area where he moved after he left CA. Don't know him but used to see him driving around, voting etc. He just got divorced again, 2nd divorce since Sandra divorce. Not sure why he get's married, definitely not his institution.
Correction. His pregnant 29 yr old wife has recently filed for divorce this month.
Good doc, but for future reference, the word awry is pronounced 'a-rye' and not 'aw-rey'
guy was married to a beautiful movie star and pissed it all away.
I worked in Hollywood as a art director graphic designer. I designed the poster for his spike TV show. 😂 I wondered what happened to him.
Dudes fucken rich I’m sure he’s fine 😂 his guns go for so much money it’s ridiculous
I watched it ALLLLLL THE way to the End, Jesse created a lot of awesome
Bikes and classic HOT RODS. BRING him back ❗
That’s what happens when your ego gets in the way ..
Jesse will always survive
I watched till the end. This dide is so talented. No matter what, I'll always dig him.
He smoked occ in the bike build off imo. His bikes were real works of art.
Seen Jessie at the GoodGuys show in Scottsdale. The line for pics was a mile long. He's fine......
What was that carb fine again?
Was he Danzig's body guard before or after Dan Marianino knocked Danzig out?
He got the "Pay Up Sucker" tattoo after he was on TV. I remember seeing it shown when he got it.
He's a heck of a fabricator really like to show you made some cool looking cars👍👍👍👍💯🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲😎👌👌
Sandra Bullock or Kat Von Drachenburg? What you guys think?
Kat 😍 She is my neighbor now since she moved to Indiana
@@shonuff5297 To be honest I’m stuck on Sandra.
I watched a couple of shows. I tried to like the guy, but I simply couldn’t manage. He made old man Teutul of Orange County seem pleasant.
This man is a millionaire & a direct descendent of a legendary bank robber !! I grew up watching west coast coast choppers, biker build off & monster garage !! Jesse James is cool
He is not a descendant of the real man. It been shown over and over
@@dougc190 that's where his Fabrication skills shined... He fabricated the story of him being a descendant of Jesse James..I know a guy in Indiana with the same name... he aint related either... it's just a Fucking name...
I watched till the end! 👍🏻
I tried to get a tour of the current facility but got ignored at the gate.
I was just like Jessie when I was a kid but obviously I just didn't have the ambition he had. Now I drive a milk tanker truck
I watched to the end because I love Monster Garage. hahahah
My uncle filmed a segment with Jesse for a documentary about the Drake water cooled motorcycle engine. About 2 months before it was to air the shit with Sandra blew up and the documentary got shelved by history channel.
My uncle still built his Drake powered bike, takes it to shows and rallies but it coulda been so much more if Jesse coulda kept his little head in check 🤦♂️
I like the way you pronounce awry. Lol
My sister worked at Discovery on his shows. She said he was impossible to work with. Never tried to make deadlines or content deliveries.
Maybe your sister should have picked up a hammer and showed us all how it's done.
@@1pcfred 😂 maybe you could show Jesse how to run a business or not date porn stars. Don't understand what your comment adds? Defending a dude you don't know or have no business knowledge of.
@@racer14glr91 everyone's the same so I don't need to know anyone personally to know them. People that claim different are just bigger liars.
@@1pcfred you calling me a lair?
@@racer14glr91 I am getting that vibe off of you. You strike me as someone that's full of it at the very least.
Jesse James didn’t get the pay up sucker tattoo until he did the discovery show as he got the tattoo on the show.
I watched till the end. An amazing builder
just not a fan of his attitude. wish him well.
He got fined 27 hundred thousand dollars?
Twenty seven hundred thousand dollars…?!?!
Nice video, but you didn't mention his custom firearms?
A skilled craftsman and innovator but I never cared for him as the person he presented himself as. I think a strong reason he went down with the Austin thing and celebrity life in general was the sordid situation with Sandra Bullock. Even in these days of enlightenment one does not cheat on a woman regarded by so many as an American girl next door.
I have a friend whose childhood was a torture due to abusive parents but he managed to become a doctor of veterinary medicine. Sadly, James always had that hint of a yahoo that hung over him.
I watched until the end ... I was also born in Lynnwood Cali ...
What happened? Joe Martin came into town! A way better builder/fabricator
Yep and no drama and bullshit attitude.
Jesse told it like he say it. At least in the Garage he was right. Then Fame hits along with the demands and pressure. Then married a high profile actress. Bad Combo for a guy like this.
2:35 Bro, I know it’s spelled “awry”, but it’s pronounced uhrye.
I wonder how much money he made in the years when monster garage hit big. I heard it was going great.
