70 Star -

Welcome To My 70 Star Guide. I made this to help people learn 70 star and to show you that you do need to be insane to get Sub hour. all the tricks in this run are beginner friendly and the route is fairly up to date. once you get better swap toxic maze for the cruiser star in RR and swap SL reds for TTC 100.

I've running this category about 1 month and in the past i played 3d All-Stars, and my PB right now is 1:00:03 . I watched all the tutorial and there are tricks that a beginner cannot make. For example in the level TTM a beginner can't instaclip in the waterfall, the block trick. In HMC a beginner can't do a double walk jump, and in the christmas miracle you hit the bottom . Finally in Tick Tock Clock the triple cube isn't beginner, and the wall kicks cage too.

You make a good point however I did consider that while making it but I still included the tricks because they are not much harder than some of the stuff in the run and with mountain clip and cube triple jump, they are tricks that are done more than once so they can save double the time.

Also I had a hard time with the wing cap island, but I think overall the strats are good to strive for and then just do the best you can and if you can't get them in the run then go the long way. I'm probably not going to do the wing cap or the mountain clip now but will try to lean them soon.

hello, really nice and clear job, do you have some advices about the instruments to use to do sm64 speedruns (which controller, emulator and how does this layout with timers work)? I used to play 25 year ago on TV PAL with N64 console, but to play the game on PC some years later I used project64 emulator and original n64 controller with UBS adapter, but it's quite old stuff, maybe there are better things to use, thank you a lot

I play on Project64 on my Lenovo laptop and I use a PowerA Nintendo Switch Wired Controller and before that I used a PS3 Controller.
I Use Project64 2.3.2.202 Because whenever I use the other version I end up having audio problems and random crashes.
Way back in 2017 before I took speedrunning seriously I ran on PAL Wii VC however looking back the PAL version is awful.
For the layout I use a program called live split. It's pretty easy to set up and there are lots of TH-cam tutorials on how to do so.
