  • Hello everyone, and welcome to my latest adventure, where I walk around a rather well-known resort hotel! Unfortunately, due to a possibility of encountering workers, and the arrival of a white truck near the end of the video, I was unable to get inside (😞). I approached the new arrival before I left (he was a construction foreman, if I recall correctly) and while we had a pleasant and informative conversation, he was unable to allow me further access to the fenced in property. I did learn one piece of info that I would like to correct; this hotel is NOT going to be demolished. It was listed on the Register of Historic Places in the early 90s, and is currently under renovation.
I don't know a lot of history on this hotel, except that it was built around 1925, and would become abandoned in 2006.
The pink hotel was designed by architect William Manly King in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, and featured six stories of guest rooms, an observation tower, and several patios and arcades surrounded by abundant tropical foliage.
While quite a lavish and upscale hotel, it would barely be able to remain open during the Great Depression, and the property would pass through the hands of several owners until 1986, when bankruptcy was declared. Some notable guests of the hotel were; Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, Ali MacGraw, and Mario Andretti.
I hope you all enjoy this; I really wish I could've gotten in, but I was glad to at least see this one at all. I thank you for watching, and encourage you to like, comment, and subscribe; and look for new explores!
As an urban explorer, I don't give out specific location information publicly, and I do not vandalize, steal, destroy, or force entry into locations, and I do my best to respect the integrity of the site and anything associated with it. Urban exploration can be a dangerous and illegal activity, even when proper precautions are made, and I do not intend to encourage or inspire others to undertake this activity due to a direct result of my choices or experiences.

Oh, I'm sure it was...really wish I could have seen the spiral staircase inside; though the guy I talked to said it had been pretty destroyed.
I'm glad you enjoyed this; and I'm happy to have been able to see what I was able to.
Hope you had a great weekend, and have an equally great week! 👍❤😁

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I kind of hit and missed that day; kept running into people...but at least I didn't get chased off at this one. Had a lot of exploring luck on the way home, too! 👍😁

Thank you so much! I was upset when I heard originally that it was slated for demo...fortunately, after talking to the worker, I found I'd been misinformed, and that this historic beauty will be saved. 👍😁

WOW, they're actually going to renovate. That will be quite expensive. It mustn't be too far gone. That would have been interesting to see the interior. YOU TRIED. 👏👏

Yeah, I was shocked too...the wrecking ball is often the likeliest choice anymore, but I'm glad to see it'll get used again.
I almost regret not going in when I found the hole, but given that the worker showed up, I was safer from trouble not being inside...I'm sure even with it being stripped, there would've been alot to see.
Thanks for watching and commenting, have a great weekend! 👍🤗😁

Thank you so much! Yeah, I found a few interesting places here (and likely missed more than a few); definitely an area I'd revisit if given more time! 👍😁

Thank you; yes, this seemed to be quite the hotspot in its day; and still for the intrepid explorer. I wish I'd been able to infiltrate, but this was still an impressive place to see, even from the outside! 👍😁
