tour of the old farm house, and I thought,,,oh my,,,what a lot of work, and you guys soldiered through and made it into a beautiful home. I have no doubt you will work your magic again with the energy and drive you both have as one powerful team!!! Congratulations. You are very inspiring to other young couples.

Thank you for the tour. It seems like a more overwhelming project than I thought. If anyone can attack this project is you two; however, I hope you have some help. Realistically, it seems a financial, intensive project. Again, thanks for sharing.
It’s gonna cost a lot. But we did our house with cash. We just had do earn as we went. And we do have money tucked away. It’s never enough. But we have faith ❤️. I can’t believe how many times we needed money with our home renovation a we were able to work hard and sell more and it was there.

There isn’t anywhere to store heavy furniture. Plus he’s working on the furniture. That’s what he does. So if he has no furniture in the workshop. What will he work on?
@@JamiRayVintageI would assume he would take the piece he needs to work on out to the shop when he was ready to work on it. Most workshops stay plenty busy even though they aren’t used as storage. I wasn’t trying to be rude, but your response tells me you took it that way. Good luck on the project.
@@conniesisco6468 sorry. It’s just hard when it’s lots of people not realizing that we were joking. And that the stuff is not solely mine. The plan had always been that we would store our furniture on one side of the garage since it’s heavy and we can drive right up to it.

" We have only rehabilitated ONE house" You two crack me up and will smash this challenge as well!🤩😍🤩 Now two more topics: that textured wall is somewhere I can speak to and believe me it was a true learning experience. Take dry wall mud, add a little water to thin it out and workable. Backfill that wall. It will be done in a under a day easy! I only learned this after REPLACING drywall, sanded and scraped it. Backfill was a breeze! Now the 2nd and last topic...the tire and mechanics shop there is Lehi, right off mainstream was my Ex husbands business. Rosenhan (%#$!) Love the history you bought and will make. Hugs to all of you that are JRV😍💃🌻

Hey guys. Could be balloon framing in the building. Keep at least one kitchen area for breaks, etc. You need to be sure the changes to your building will not require expensive extensive code upgrades.
I would keep the entire kitchen with the white cabinets and cool, old enamel over cast iron sink to sell kitchen related items from cookbooks to crocks, bowls, etc. Congrats on this purchase - I think it is going to be amazing. I would have to demolish that workshop/barn building because it takes away from the beauty of the church. It's an eyesore because its so close to the church building. Just my opinion and I know what it's worth...TWO CENTS :-) Love y'all! Congrats again

Best of luck with your new venture. I own a 1889 Victorian farmhouse, the house I grew up in. There will be challenges but when you love old stuff you will rise to all of them. Hope you have the benjamins cause it ain't cheep my friends and nothing is standard size. I will be watching and cheering you on all the way. It will all be worth it in the end. You guys got this.
We just renovated our 1917 home and built a huge addition. It is spendy but zeb is a carpenter and we do all the work ourselves. Luckily we are going to work on this a little at a time and the first stuff will mostly be ripping out all they added and patching. Oh and windows. Those will be spendy. We need to replace quite a few.

My husband makes fun of me because i know all your kids names and I say "my friends Jami and Zeb are on now please don't talk to me till it's over" Love you guys and I don't watch TV but I always watch you. I'll design the church and Zeb has his workshop Jami you said,then you tell Zeb you need storage.For all he does and the hard labor he has put into building your dream he deserves his workshop how he wants it and how to set it up and use it. Being organized is going to be very useful

We were just bantering. And what he does in his work shop is fix the furniture we buy. He teases that it’s my junk. But it’s what we both work on and what we sell. You should see him when we’re out junking, he’s an enabler lol.

@@debbyetheridge6368 you better bet he’ll have a tape line we don’t cross lol. He usually sets up sort of a tent for his lathe to keep the paint chips in. I think eventually we’ll get a storage connex in the back. But for now we’ll have to share since the church will be all retail and website on the first floor ❤️

As I watched the tour I kept thinking I want the dumpster delivered and to start cleaning out all the stuff that needs to go. It will be so fun to watch your progress. What will the barn be used for? Could that be for storing all the junk that needs to be fixed?

It looked like snow when you were taking the paneling off the wall. What a great adventure, you may need some help. Been watching for a couple of years, can’t wait to see what you do.
I had friends who lived in a very small cement cottage and found that putting up 3" styrofoam and insulation - very cheap - did the job quite well in keeping them warm during the winter months with the fireplace and upstairs.

Yes and yes. We aren’t changing the exterior at all. Just cleaning, fixing, repairing and landscaping. The interior will get changed but it will be more like what it looked like before.
