Fiery tanker crash shuts down major Connecticut thoroughfare

- A tanker truck loaded with thousands of gallons of gasoline was involved in a fiery collision under an overpass of Interstate 95 in Norwalk, Connecticut, Thursday, one of the nation's busiest freeways. Officials said the damage was extensive and the bridge will need to be removed. No one was hurt, but the highway remains closed. Tony Aiello has the latest.

If you are driving a loaded fuel truck and see that your trailer is on fire, the only thing that would be on your mind is to run away.
Why does this keep on happening? It is like someone is attacking our nation's road and bridge instructor. And they're covering it up.
I think sadly soooo much more is coming. Many who want to do us harm have already entered and many more are coming. The riots are very telling of this and it’s not good.

I can see how a car could have caused this accident. At 5:30 AM in the morning, I-95 is an open highway. Drivers treat I-95 and the Merritt Parkway like a racetrack. I hope the driver is charged and made to foot the bill.

It looke like someone ran into the tanker. Yet, headline blame the tanker. "Tanker Crash'.
A friendly reminder this becomes a thing of the past if we move to electric vehicles. Electrons travel on transmission lines not trucks.
Has Homeland Security / FBI etc. brainstormed possible sleeper cell attacks whereby many individuals in a sleeper cell within the USA purposefully ignite tanker trucks nearly simultaneously underneath bridges and inside tunnels of multiple major highways in an effort to cause serious delays and traffic congestion (most importantly for logistical reasons such as trucking transport) in an effort to cripple regions economically?
I could see such an attack easily occurring without much effort on the part of a sleeper cell other than multiple individuals gaining access to trucking gasoline refueling trucks.
If they pulled off such an "attack" it could really destabilize the economics of an area if they hit enough major roadways and caused enough damage that the repairs would take days/weeks/months and or even longer as the numerosity of the damaged infrastructure would backlog the available crews.
It would be a more subtle and blunt "attack", but it would cause significant disruption IF it was organized and orchestrated very intelligently.
Just something to think about and I hope they have thought about it and any ways to potentially deal with such an coordinated event and ways to try and stave off such an event through background checks and surveillance of individuals involved in such trucking activities.

Headline: "Loaded Tanker Truck jack knifes, rolls over, and BURNS on RT. 7 bridge crossing over top the Norwalk River up in Ridgefield CT..." Date: July 12th 2005 (so almost 20 years ago at this point). naturally those who were just "born yesterday" will have NO KNOWLEDGE of this crash that occurred only a mere 15 miles away (to the North) from this accident, and it ALSO took out a bridge which then had to be replaced, btw CT DOT did an amazing job on the reconstruction...
SOURCE: in the mid 2000's i was actually working/traveling regularly between Danbury CT, Newtown CT, and Hartford CT, so "Pepperidge Farm Remembers". but see the problem happening with the "conspiracy kids" in the comments is simply that they are "baby young to the world" and LACK any sort of life experience (unfortunately even worse, their EGOS blind them from being able to recognize this).

No matter what the truck driver is always at fault. Tanker hazmat drivers hauling chemical bombs earning peanuts on a dollar. Why do petroleum hazmat drivers earning 22 or $24 an hour? That's what a McDonald's manager earn. This is why I hope that all petroleum drivers boycott and protest stop hauling petroleum until the pay is minimum of $50 an hour.
Now imagine a child seeing that type of effect happening all around, including their house or the playground.
