The intro never gets old. These 2 dudes had so many handles it's crazy. Their flash always made sense because they did it at the right times. What made Skip special was his body coordination and fluent movements. A lot of dudes got handles, but it's stiff looking because their body coordination and hip movement is not right. It's hard to develop free flowing handles because everybody is learning how to dribble from trainers. But it's not that they're learning from trainers. It's the way the trainers are teaching them. They try to give cats all these moves they're not going to use in a game. Basketball is instinct, and for your handles to be effective in game time situations, you have to know what style of handles naturally works for you, similar to how you recognize which form works best for you on your jump shot. Also your moves can't be rehearsed or scripted, they must happen within the flow of the game.
Thank you I thought I was the only one seeing that same style type of ball handling it so boring and you are absolutely right the rhythm is gone, it's really sad
@@danieljones7495 No it's not just you. Dribbling and having actual handles are dead because dudes are doing moves that any regular cat can pull off. Trainers teach players how to dribble in stationary formats, which explains that wack spam dribble that would actually be effective if they used it like a triple threat to get a good shot. In order to have sick handles, dudes need to take the best ball handlers moves and practice them until they're mastered. Ball handling has to be treated like shooting. Back in the day Shammgod developed his handles by emulating what he saw on T.V and practicing it as if he was being guarded by a defender. When the best shooters get shots up during individual workouts, they always practice game time shots as if they're getting off a clean look before the defender can actually contest. Dribbling and free flowing handles must be developed by emulating in game situations. The imagination and discovering moves that come natural to you allows you to develop those free flowing handles. Steph Curry, Klay, Reggie Miller, Dennis Scott, Mark Price, Ray Allen, and Glen Rice were great shooters because they discovered the shooting form that worked for them and tailored based on the one motion quick release. I never saw them trying to literally shoot someone else's form. I see dudes now literally trying to do Kyrie's moves, rather than emulating. There's a difference between incorporating that player's move into your game and then being that specific player. Dudes are like clones when they try to master Kyrie's moves or Harden's step back.
@@davidhall4401 Well said bro I am totally with you... I guess that's why I can't get into watching the NBA games anymore...just no style...and for the life of me why are the uniforms so gotdamn tight 😂 them bitches definitely not free-flowing, that makes them look even more stiff while they play
@@danieljones7495 yes my gosh. I told so many cats that those tight uniforms make it hard to be shifty. They make the movements look like rubber bands. You can't extend your arms and legs on crossovers.
when NBA players like Shaq, and other say you should've been in the league....you know you good, and Alimoe was that! he was my fav streetballer and will always be my fav streetballer.
@jessesam I don't think so. I remember Alimoe saying on an episode of Streetball that he had the opportunity to go to Fresno State to play for Jerry Tarkanian like Skip did but he didn't take it. Playing for legit D1 program and learning from a legendary coach, who knows how much more he could have improved. Tark sent a few guys to the league from Fresno.

I had this tape of VHS!!!!! My two fav street ballers of all time!!!! The Professor would have to be number 3!! RIP Alimoe he had so much potential to play in the NBA, and S/O to Skip for being the legacy and foundation for AND1
I remember when Alimoe came to Dunn Sports Center in Elizabeth for a streetball tour. He was unguardable for real. Probably the best streetball player ever.
Harlem is in Manhattan. Manhattan is more than just Harlem. Harlem is considered the Upper East Side. Then you got Midtown and Lower East Side. I love Harlem but I'm from The Lowa
I swear the version of After Midnite with last emperor during the ending credits doesn't exist anywhere! I've been looking for 5 years...if anyone knows where I can find it, please let me know.
