Adam Kinzinger has my utmost respect for being the first ex GOP Congressman from one party to endorse a Democrat. He sees the danger and is doing what a true patriot does! Thank you sir!
Funny thing is, there are a lot of Republicans that are breaking ties with their party, at least during this election, that will support a Democrat!
Hopefully, that will offset those that may vote the couch, vote 3rd party, or vote Republican!
I am deeply opposed to Kinzinger's policy positions but I deeply respect his conservative approach to preservation of our shared Constitution.

At this point I cannot endorse voting third party. We need to crush this horrible Project 2025 plan. We need to reject it because its fundamentally un-American.

The idea of giving nine people, who often have shown less integrity than Mobsters, life time appointment is simply absurd. This is the court that has ruled: 1) That Bribery (Campaign Contribution) is legal and is Freedom Of Speech. 2) That Corporations are people and can give unlimited Bribes. 3) That Non-profit outfits can provide Bribes for political figures without revealing the names of the people who are providing the Bribes. 4) That the people who use Brand name meds have legal protection for side effects, but the majority of people who use the Generics, have no protection. 5) That a bunch of old men in different states can decide about women health and reproductive rights. So, don't expect anything positive from such corrupt court.

In the words of my marketing teacher way back in '78, I don't know how to run a nuclear power plant, but I know people who are electrical engineers, transportation engineers, planing engineers, etc. General Eisenhower could not, would not try to do all the jobs of the Normandy Invasion, he recognized the strengths of people and he knew how to delegate responsibility to more capable persons.

I think he misses the point for all the rules: to test Trump's patience & "genius", to see if he can think clearly & function under pressure. Debates are like any test: in the real world you would indeed have all the support & access needed, but first you must prove yourself in testing. None the less, his cult will lick his boots no matter what- as history shows, but maybe such a debate will switch the few percentage points needed to give Joe what should be a landslide win, if not for this nation's clear lack of morality.

Ridiculous, self-serving ruling! I recently volunteered with a local charity preparing income taxes for low-income folks. Because the IRS allows the program to directly file for our "clients," we were under its strict ethics code for federal employees. For example, one grateful couple offered to take me out to dinner after I spent several hours figuring out their back taxes--absolutely not allowed!!! Thank goodness for Justice Jackson!
I worked for the federal government for 20 years. We absolutely could not accept outside gratuities. I got a paycheck and that was good enough for me as a public servant. I worked for the NPS.
Will Trump even show? He challenged Biden to debate months before it's traditionally done in August, and now it seems his base is looking for reasons to back out. The whole thing feels like the lead up to the series finale of a reality show.
He might not show. He doesn't like rules placed on him and he is scared to death of President Biden who won't be bullied.

The story is rather simple: Don the Con asked for Absolute Immunity for President. And his supporters in the court figured if they rule that the President has Absolute Immunity, not only looks bad for the court, but also gives Biden the freedom to do whatever he wants with Don the Con. So, they came up with a solution that the court would frame the issue in a way to create Maximum Confusion and Delay and Prevent his Criminal Trials.
Most important debate in history, and the rules are beyond childish. The rules sound like a high school debate.

There’s inflation everywhere in the world, but America’s inflation is one of the lowest and our economy is literally the strongest (you don’t mention that) - inflation is a worldwide phenomenon and it’s improving here…thank goodness.
By the way, Trump added 7.8 trillion to the national debt while in office - if you don’t like inflation, you can (in part) blame that - I dare you.

1. created chaos at NATO
2. added almost $ 8 trillion to the National Debt after inheriting a booming economy from the Obama administration, when he should have been paying down the debt, LIKE HE PROMISED!
3. mishandled the pandemic to the point where he has proved to be responsible for the death of more than half a million Americans
4. caused the loss of millions of jobs
5. left the USA in a deep recession, just as the previous republican administration did
6. incited an insurrection and planned a coup in an attempt to overturn an election and overthrow the rule of law and our great democratic republic
7. refused to concede and allow the peaceful transition of power one of the basic tenets of our republic.

A lot of those 34 prior presidents didn't have the electoral college to win either. It was all popular vote and the candidates had to win over the people.
The electoral college was enacted in 1787. Many Republican presidents would have lost who did not win the popular vote.
The President of the USA has always been elected by the electoral college. It has never been by popular vote.
They ALL had to contend with the electoral college. The first President to win the EC and not the popular vote was in the 1800's.

I am in grateful harmony with Mr. Kinzinger! I am a Conservative and a former Republican activist at the local level. I also believe that Constitutional Democracy is the best form of government for human flourishing. As another Conservative has put it, "This is for all the marbles." (George Conway, at the time of his donating to Biden Campaign just under $1million, the maximum FEC allowable donation.
Instead of a debate, they should have a 5th grade history/ government quiz contest. Multiple choice answers would insure instant fact-checking.

Actually I disagree. Keeping it as simple as possible is really important --- we hear the candidate and nothing is diluted.
Debates are about as pertinent as the electoral college.
Why don't we just give them both a history, math....etc. test? Throw in a test of compassion and common sense!

I cannot disagree more thoroughly with the first argument here. It matters if a president can think on their own. Of course they'll have experts helping them on the job, but the person sitting at the resolute desk will have the final say, and I, for one, would like to know that my president is an intelligent, thoughtful, and capable human being who can function on their own.

Last night over here in England we had a TV debate on the BBC between our current Conservative prime minister, Rishi Sunak, and the leader of the opposition Labour party Sir Keir Starmer. It was a wholly unedifying and pointless thing to watch. Thankfully however it's the last one we'll have to endure, because our general election campaign only lasts 6 weeks, with people going to the polls on ( **_perhaps ironically?_** ) the 4th of July, your Independence Day. Whatever the election result ( **_Labour have a 20 point lead in the polls_** ) at least we shall be spared anymore TV debates for the next 4 or 5 years, and I say **_"CHEERS TO THAT!"_* 👍😎🇬🇧🇺🇸💙🥃
Exactly right! The debates do not really have anything to do with the job I think they are stupid and a waste of time ..and if they are done purely for entertainment on TV there are a lot of other much more interesting things I'd rather watch!
Perhaps the debates then should exclude asking the candidates to address each other but instead just have the moderator's question the candidates and their staff and advisors.
