Or run your set up though a small 4 channel outboard mixer like the Yamaha and have that Ipod plugged in and run your masteraudio out through the mixer so you have an independant source input for the back up - I run the Yamaha MG06, has balanced XLR for the materoutput and XLR ins on thchannel 1 and 2 w the stereo splitter button but you need 1/8" in to 1/4" cable to have the aux source go in and must have a crossfade function like what I use in the iPOD nano
Your XLR to RCA cable is clutch but running everything through a small mixer (Soundcraft Notepad 8, Bose TS4 come to mind) not only do you get better gain and most often better quality mic use, but also the ever handy RCA option. There are compact and inexpensive options that will just make everything better and ensure you are 100% able to perform SOMETHING.
Add 100ft foot extension cord! if you're a private event DJ, those banquet halls are NOT designed with you in mind! Either the outlets can be too far or the event planners and decorators want you in a spot far from an outlet and there you go running to the closest hardware store!
I have to controllers the ddj 1000 and xdj r1 with usb input, both controllers go in to a small Allen & heath mixer, the option I have is one of hard ware fails I can go directly into my powers speaker, my xdjr1 is my backup player with usb copy of my playlist and more
Nice advice. Right now I play music on a party bus 🚌. I do walk with extra cables as back but I saw few of them cable that I haven't think about. I'm looking for a dj controller for the party bus. Denon prime go is not a bad idea to use. Good review 👍🏽 keep up good work brother 👊🏽💯
I actually bring a backup hard drive with a clone of my laptop in case my laptop goes down, and i'm doing a club set where can use someone else's laptop. And on private/corporate parties I bring my old mixer, and DJ laptop with serato on it, cos if I pulled out a phone or ipad, the client would still want their money back.
I didn’t mention hard drive because that’s a given. . If you opened up djay and DJd like you normally do, there’s absolutely no reason you should have to give money back.
I always have a ziplock bag loaded with adapters of all types and a larger bag with assorted short jumper cord 4" to 6" long. Super handy. Thanks Cleveland
Do you recommend using the usb-b to usb-c WITH dual ferrite core choke for noise reduction or maybe not necessary? Occasionally I’ve been getting static build-up in my headphones after using my new Panasonic DDJ-SB3. When that happens, I have to disconnect my usb-b from my new M1 MacBook Pro and immediately plug it back in then it goes away- but static returns every half hour approx. I’ve been using a usb-b to usb-a with the usb-a female to usb-c male adapter piece this whole time. Now I’m about to buy a new usb-b to usb-c code so I can eliminate the adapter and make a direct connection . For an extra $10 I can get the cod with dual ferrite core choke they advertise will reduce or eliminate excesses noise. I was curious if you recommend that or maybe not necessary?
It seems my friends only bring one thing with them in case of emergencies…which is my phone number 🤦♂️
HAHAHAHA!!!! Why do you think I make videos.
@@ClevelandTerry same here! "Press 1 to hear why you should buy a headphone adapter"
LOOOOOOL

ALSO RCA TO RCA cable, when connecting to a clubs setup sometimes u have to connect to there mixer
You know what? I don't know that i've seen an 1/8" Headphone to Dual XLR split cable like that. Excellent!
This video is dope, maybe make a video on a tech “survival kit” box full of these and other nice things to have at a gig or event
I bring 3 laptops and 3 hard drives, ipad, a tablet and 2 old phones with music on them. Its Over kill but you never inow
Serious overkill but if it works with you then that’s what you do.
Better to have, then to have not!!! (Yoda's voice)
Salute!
Lol I go raw dog with only my laptop, lol one day it is gonna blow up in my face 😂
That's what I call "redundancy"! Lol

Excellent point.
@@ClevelandTerry PS only say what I said because I had a main board fail on a SX3 so even the line in wasn't a option.
I couldn't agree with you more mate!
Thank you! I've been on the losing end of not having a headphone jack. I have 5 on me when I go out now.

I carry 3 of those RCA > 1/8inch cables - they are lifesavers :)
Another Great video! Thanks!

@@ClevelandTerry agreed, they wanted a scratch DJ set not someone playing off an iphone. Learnt the lesson the hard way.
@@halfmanhalfcat1058 iPad Djay and a rane one are pretty top notch. I have a video coming out about it soon.
Good stuff!👍🏾👍🏾
Always back your music on the cloud and bring a back up drive via usb and SD card
Backup HDs are a given
@@ClevelandTerry I have friends who still haven’t backed up their HD
So do I lol
Several headphone adapters, cos someone will always want to borrow yours and forget to give it back.

Definitely go direct if you can. Any additional thing added may introduce noise in the chain.
@@ClevelandTerry ok thank you. ✊🏽💥
