This is by far best and most comprehensive video about Calf injuries. Talking straight to the point, easy to understand, direct, usable advice - excellent work 👏👏👏
This is the best video I have ever seen !!! I have been dealing with Achilles tendonitis for quite some time - unable to run or bike without the pain. These exercises and detailed explanation for slow progression has helped me a lot . I definitely recommend this ! Thank you so much . I can’t wait to get back to my triathlons
For anyone asking how well this video works: I'd say it works 1000% I used to be a track and field and cross country runner in highschool, but didn't play any sports for about 7-8 years of my life after highschool. Fast forward to that time, I was at 207 pounds (the heaviest i've ever been) When I decided to get fit again, i'd always feel calf pains from running, and hit a wall so i'd stop doing excercises altogether and wouldn't know what to do. I got down to about 176 pounds. However, after seeing this video it was the answer I was looking for, for years. It was a slow, steady climb, but after getting the right shoes, dieting right, and extra stretching a bit for about 5 minutes, i'm back to feeling better than ever. I didn't know if I was making any true progress because I kept seeing if the pain was still there, but after a lot of patience and following this video, i'm finally recovered and even stronger than before. This morning, I weighed in at 158.4 pounds, the lightest i've been in YEARS. Thank you so much for the video, it really has changed my life, and I can finally continue to lose weight.
I strained my Gastro last night. I wish I could say I was sprinting away from a bear while holding my newborn in my arms, but I was jumping around with my 3 year old in the living room. I started running for the first time in a while, 3 days before, so I think it was just overworked. Great video. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
This video is by far amongst the best ones for calf muscle injury rehab. I had been struggling with my routine runs because of soleus muscle injury. Thanks for guiding to build up the necessary muscles..
wow. you nailed my exact injury to the TEE!!! started running all of a sudden 3 days a week. Gastrocenemius injury 1000%. you are really good at what you do. Thanks for the post this will help me out so much in the future.
Same here mate. Started running about 6 months ago (from about 7-8 years off) was slowly building up and steadily running 4-5 miles 4x’s per week. Felt great last week and decided to go for a 8 mile run. Run felt fine. Two days later went for a 4 miler and around 3 miles in got a horrible tightness/ cramp on the lower our portion of my calf. After warm hi g this video seems like the soleous. Nonetheless. I started some of these exercises and already feel better. Here’s to hoping to get back into running soon.
This was one of the better videos I found. I guess how to prevent a calf injury returning, is to to incorporate at least some of these routines into your regular routines, warm up and warm down.
Any of these exercises i should specifically focus on to go back play 2v2 beach volleyball? I first reinjured my soleus, went back 2 weeks after....reinjured....now my gastric popped (felt like someone kicked me). Grade 1 or 2 i would say. It was 2 weeks ago. My PT is not this comprehensive as you, just gave me some of those exercises but not a plan
I have had issues with "tennis leg" and the complete mystery of when it would be safe to return to playing without the fear of a re-injury. This is the first advice I have seen on both the exercises and the benchmarks of muscle preparedness to follow before returning to play. Thank you!
This was by fr the most educational and to the point analysis. I have been suffering of these issues for so long and no one has ever been capable to give so direct information.
This is the most comprehensive explanation and exercise progression programme! Subscribed just because of this video, can't wait to watch what else you have on your channel. I am on my way to fix my achilles tendonitis and definitely going to use those. 🙏
Been struggling with calf tears and soleus strains last few years and physios don’t take it seriously. This is quality work. Looking forward to trying it
I've watched some good videos on calf strain and some very good ones, but THIS!! This is the BEST one I have seen!! Thank you so much for all this information!
Woah this has to be by far the most comprehensive calf strain rehab video I have seen. So organized, and perfectly explained. Amazing job my friend. I think you sir will be a huge reason why I will be able to complete my first ironman in November
This is an insanely good and helpful video. Even if you are not injured, it gives you a baseline and a goal to meet if you haven't exercised in a while. Thank you so much!!
This is by far the best video I've seen on calf strain recovery. I've had problems with my calves for years but I see now I am not rehabbing them in a consistent and continuous manner. Most people say just do calf raises. This gives a variety of exercises and levels of progression to improve and a guideline of when it's okay to start running again. Awesome video, thank you!
This is a great video! I'm 67 years old and picked up tennis after a year of abscence, resulting in mild calf injury twice. I still have very strong and explosive gastrocnemius', but now know how to make them meet their own strength! Thanks!
THANK YOU!!! Sustained calf injuries to each calf in back to back weeks of playing football. Hadn't played in a few years and am in decent shape but not really great football shape. Will let you know how things progress after I follow your advice and suggestions. Thanks again for this insightful video. Perfect timing!!!!
Thank you so much. *downloaded. I have tried getting back into running after a period of relative inactivity and im experiencing recurrent right calf strain. I finally decided enough is enough, i need to strengthen my calves. These exercises are golden and will be a wonderful complement and progression the things I already do.
I love this, thank you so much, have had calf strains on and off for years and this has been so good for me to regain my confidence in running again. ❤
Excellent videos man… definitely one of the best in TH-cam. Well detailed and easy to follow. I play soccer and in the past years I am suffering a lot of muscle injuries. 😢
Calf injury from too sudden increase in running. Very informative and good. The best I have seen so far on youtube! I will certainly follow the instructions.
@@KITTYCATALERT best thing that worked for me is taking a rest from running for about 2 weeks mine was a soleus strain so every couple days I would use a foam roller which helped me a lot in holding a position on the calf which hurt the most and other trigger points also the heel raises is good too but make sure to stop if you feel any pain also building my strength back up using the seated calf machine is awesome too wishing you a speedy recovery

Thank you very much for sharing this video. It is incredibly comprehensive and has the potential to benefit numerous individuals in their journey to gradually strengthen their muscles and recover from injuries. I recently began running last year and increased my training volume significantly this year. Unfortunately, due to this sudden increase, I encountered an issue with my left soleus muscle, which prevented me from continuing my running or even hopping on that leg. However, I was still able to hop on both legs without any issues. After more than a month, I have experienced gradual improvement, and I recently completed a 5k run at our local Parkrun. To aid in the strengthening of my calf muscles, particularly the soleus muscle, I have been diligently performing the exercises you outlined. Additionally, I have found that using a foam roller has been beneficial in releasing any knots or tightness in the area.

How does recovery/nutrition fit into this? Would you advise increasing protein intake during all of the strength training?
Nice video. Injured myself rushing the weather. Went biking over the weekend and rode each day for an hour. Ugh!! Now cramp in leg and tightness. Feel a tightness and a cramp just ready to get me again. Ugh! Started using ice and seens to give me some relief...biking on hold now. 😢
Best video in youtube about calve recovery!

Best resource out there
This is legit. Strengthening always takes priority over stretching that most online gurus would recommend.
Especially useful to see quantified what's needed to stay injury-free! ( like 3x 25 reps footraises ) At 67 I find it hard to run without strains, probably because lack of strenth.
Thnx for the video!
this bloke is awesome
Very informative video. Thank you.
Just 1 question. How much time does it usually take to do this rehabilitation?
I am still searching for an answer to this question too :)
That is a very comprehensive method of rehab. I love your system
