Man you killing me Jesse. Counting the days and I will be after them in NC. If it’s not so hot I can’t stand it. 96 today and now this storm is coming but I don’t think it will be bad. We need some rain.
George Petron I Live in Kinston and fish mostly in the Neuse below New Bern. Slocum Creek Dawson’s creek and Hancock Creek. Sometimes I go to the coast. Had a camper at Swansboro and use to fish that area a lot. Pamlico river and bay river. Mostly inshore now. You probably got some killer spots your way. Prayers that you didn’t get it to bad during the storm.
Great flounder fishing. I’ve never caught a flounder but I’ve never really tried. Pitch some shrimp around and something always grabs them before they get to the bottom. Great video brother
My husband and I go to the concrete ships alot. Fishing and crabbing at the beach. This video your there at low tide. Current is an issue. Seems like you're there ebbtide. Not Current or wind. The perfect time. We anchor out there on our boat or drive there and pitch a tent. Love Kiptopeak. Four hours to sail across the bay and anchor out. One hour to drive and pitch a tent with a small boat. Love your videos.
Jesse you are killing me. I live in NC and as you know they closed our Flounder til Aug the 16 I think and I just got me two kayaks so I am ready. I went first time and got blistered by the sun. I had sunscreen but it didn’t work. Learned a lot but have been watching you for a while so maybe I’m a head of the game but we will see.
Yeah the sun is a killer. Definitely cover up and wear sunscreen. Long sleeves, pants, shoes, and a face mask and hat are a must. I'm ready for them to open the Flounder season in NC. I;m going to do some Pier Videos in the obx coming up soon
A few buddies and my self are coming up in a few weeks so leave us some lol nice job and love to see new videos it’s like a live fishing report keep it up brother 🎣
Well done with the bird. He'll be telling that story for a while. I'll bet his parents were really mad. Anyway, please let me know what brand is the the stringer, measuring board and the net you use? Thanks for all the videos, just subbed.
Thanks for your videos Jesse. I can't hit up the eastern shore or CBBT like I used to. Now mainly Rappahannock, piankatank, and gwynn island areas. Do you have any videos of those places? Please do some. 😁
You ever try making your own bucktails? It's not that difficult and for the cost of two bucktails, you can make five or six depending on how much hair you tie on them.
Thanks for the video , I don't live too far from there and would love to go fishing with you sometime when you're on the shore. Sorry to say I don't have the success you do when I fish the same spot as you did. I must not be holding my mouth right.
is it difficult to fish this type stuff with a normal kayak? I have a Jackson cuda 14 and a cruise 10. I want to take it to that Atlantic beach area in NC. Try the bridge for sheepshead and the cargo ships for some flounder
Can you provide information where to get the net and fish holder you used. I started to fish in a kayak and will like to get things that will help me keep the fish in the water other than a stringer. Thanks

Both are bouncing. I drop it every 20 second or so to check how close to the bottom I am then give it one crank to get the bottom one just off the bottom and go back to jigging.
Jesse, I think I might hit those ships next month on my vacation. I've wanted to fish them for a while, but its about a two hour ride for me to get there. What is the current like there? I have a small Jon boat, and would like to drift, but I don't want to go too fast. Also, I have some year old gulp. How long does the juice stay good?
@@matthewwhite3444 yeah pretty much, you have to remember though I fished the inlet and bay a whole lot. I caught lots of short fish, if your planning on going off shore on a boat you might be alright.
No hard feelings to some people but you do a whole lot better job than one fish two fish Jesse keep it up you the man I send all my friends straight to your videos cuz Jeff makes me sick I'm sorry I can't help he is one of your friends but he uses his girl too much the dipsea dolphin
Thanks man I appreciate the comment. They have their style, I have mine. I try to focus on good clean fishing. If I do it right there's no need for any fluff or eye candy to get views.
Lol! Maybe so, even though all the bigger ones were caught in the end of the video. This year it seems that 18 to 20 inches are the bigger ones that are caught...
Lol fair enough. Although these size Flounder have been tougher to get in the Chesapeake Bay this year. Few years ago 20 inch plus fish were abundant. Thanks for watching
You have become my favorite channel to watch in reference to fishing in the Tidewater / Eastern Shore areas. Thank you Sir.
Wow, thanks!

Thank you for the comment and for watching! Go give it a try, they are delicious!
Jesse I watch them and wait a while and watch it again. I guess only a fisherman would understand that. Tight lines
Thank you!
Awesome saving the baby bird. Only a select few these days would make the effort, me included. I salute you!
I really like that net you are using. The folding design and the curve for the arm makes it totally efficient with probably any size fish.
But they're pricey. I have a telescoping one that I've started using keeping it short and it works well for a kayak
It is nice. Yak Attack Leverage net. Was 80 bucks I think. have had it for 4 years now
My favorite is live bait with an anchor setup I find it so relaxing.

Yes Kiptopeke is awesome. Gonna go this year and actually camp there at some point. I love fishing there.

Thanks 👍
The intro was awesome 😂🤙🤙
Lol! Thanks! Something different
Honestly though, literally just earned my subscription with that intro.
Awesome into for sure. Looks like fun flounder fishing. I enjoy your videos. Finally subscribed. Thanks for the content
Love those target ships/ Great video Capt.
Thanks 👍
Back in the mid 90s we caught a lot of sea trout there at The Concrete ships, Omega ruined that for everyone.
My hero for saving the bird. I Enjoy your vids. Tight lines.
Lol! Thanks
Great job on the baby bird. Definitely subscribing now.
We cant keep flounder in North Carolina until Aug 15th so then I'll be gigging every night I can...keep up the good videos
I thought it was closed all year
@@palletmachinery no opens August 15th closes Sept 30th
@@MichaelforGod that's a short season compared to Mass. what's the size and bag limit in NC?
@@ryanjamieson8779 5 @15in
Hopefully they have grown some since the closure. NC always seemed to have smaller Flounder compared to VA, at least from what I caught
Good job on the flatties! We got on a good flounder bite last week at the jetty at Rudee inlet.
Cool man! Any size to them?
@@SouthernReelsFishing 3 keepers were 17, 19 and 21!
I went out of Wachapreague and fished the inlet the flounder where biting pretty good yesterday great video keep them up
I've been wanting to get up that way, was going to try Oyster first, but it looks to be pretty shallow getting out of the boat ramp canal
Great to see ya out in ur yak!!! Excellent dat of fishing, thanks for sharing w us!!!!! W

Welcome aboard!
Hey bud, nicevideo ,I live in vb,fish with live bait, mullet menhaden and spot, over at great neck bridge,, try that?
Man, great video. Where do I find that stringer you use?
Great day to be on the water!
Who makes that stringer you use?
What kind of fish net are you using I like the folding action
🙄 this was the last straw for me, I've got to get a fishing license!! Haven't been since I was like 16
Right into the net smooth
Not always, but occasionally
I know I’m late to the show. But where is this at? Looks really cool
Kiptopeke state park in Virginia

I found it on amazon, just search for large hoop fish stringer/holder
Would you mind sharing where to purchase the tool you used to hold the fish in the water for them to bleed out? Thank you!
It’s called a fish stringer

Thanks for the sub!
Do these ships happen to be the ones in cape Charles ?
Question . When you make a video such as this one do you piece in scenes from other trips to make a full video or is this all one day of fishing?
Its always from one day. If anything maybe the intro or ending may be filmed later
Do you think 🤔 the flounders are still around this time of year ?
Oh yes for sure!
@@SouthernReelsFishing sweet !!! I'm going to be headed out asap...thanks bro
In florida little guys r keepers lol. 12" min size. Might b going up to 14" next year.
Not much of a filet off a 12 inch Flounder, hardly worth keeping it would seem... I honestly think the minimum size should be 18 here in VA.
@@SouthernReelsFishing yeah not a lot of meat for straight up eating, but to make ceviche which is raw fish cooked with citrus, its perfect.
Hey Jesse what month was this? I’m thinking on planning a trip with a bunch of kids.
July
With the duel set up are you bouncing both of them or is the top one staying suspended and the bottom one bouncing on the bottom?
Both are bouncing. I drop it every 20 second or so to check how close to the bottom I am then give it one crank to get the bottom one just off the bottom and go back to jigging.
Think that location is safe for a non-pedal 10ft kayak on a calm day? Or does the tide rip too hard through there?
On lower co-effecient days you would be fine
