    Prague's city center was not bombed during World War II.
    This is why Prague can still shine with its historical authenticity today.

      It was sadly, as during the last week of the WWII, there was a mishap - US bombers were supposed to bomb Dresden in Germany, but the pilots got lost in the fog and once they saw a city underneath, they thought they reached Dresden, sadly it was Prague - the river looks quite similar from above...
      Hundreds of people have been killed, f.e. a hospital has been bombed..
      Even the Astronomical clock got some damage + its other half has been destroyed completely. That's the point where the park these days on the Old Town square is standing...
      But compared to other towns/nations, you're right, it wasn't damaged at all....

    Prague - surely one of the best cities in the world, an old beauty. Beer looks cheap there for Europe but it is even cheaper in other Czech towns. For day trips, I recommend Karlovy Vary and Pilsen (Plzen) as very interesting cities, also Karlštejn Castle is beautiful (with possible hikes around) and Kutna Hora has interesting big ossuary (although it is also an interesting another ossuary in Brno under the St. James Church). For Česky Krumlov, Hluboka Castle and maybe little town of Trebon or Telč, I recommend having a base in Česke Budejovice (Budweis), another beer town. If you are going to Slovakia, too, then don't miss the second biggest Czech city Brno (for me, it was one of the most positive surprises in the country, it also has the Brno Circuit, a race track) as it is on the path to Trenčin, Prievidza (Bojnice Castle), Čičmany and later High Tatras (Lomnicky štit above Tatranska Lomnica, Štrbske Pleso, Poprad). Trdelnik is a traditional desert in both countries and there are many other traditional dishes, in Slovakia also very good smoked sheep milk oštiepok (called oscypek in Zakopane, Poland region). Very much to see and also very much to enjoy, mějte se krásně.

Lastly, just off the main square is the Gallery of Steel Figures. Life size statues made of scrap metal and car parts. I set my alarm super early one morning and did it. There were maybe 15 people on the bridge at that time. I got all the pictures I wanted (pre- cell phone days) I’ll never forget that experience as long as I live. So, now I can give you some pointers:
    1 - you should go visit the Sedlec Ossuary, in a town called Kutná Hora, around 70km (44mi) east of Prague;
    2 - they also have some very nice churches and museums, even an Aliens Vs Predators Experience Museum;
    3 - 66km (41mi) to the north of Prague, it's Terezín, with a huge fortress, a concentration camp and many different museums (even a car museum), also castles and churches;
    4 - just north of Prague, you can visit the château where Reinhard Heydrich lived, and where he was leaving from when he got attacked by the resistance (the famous Operation Anthropoid);
    5 - to the southwest, you can visit Pilsen and the breweries, the cathedral, the Museum Of Horrors and the Aviation Museum a bit to the north.
    And there's a lot more to do near Prague. This is just a tiny bit...

      @@spacedog_80 funniest thing is that in Österreich the goulash is in between the soup and the stew, basically an extreme dense soup.

    Hi Gabriel, time to get adjusted to jet lag again. You know if you don't say where you are it would seem like you're in Germany strangely enough the architecture appears remarkably similar. The weather is still a bit cool but pleasant enough to travel and walk around. Prague doesn't appear to be an extremely busy city but looks very pleasant.

      It can be ridiculously touristy part of the town but prices are lower there than in the USA and especially some other countries Gabriel has been to (like Switzerland, Norway, Iceland etc.). But if you look that Prague is much more expensive than other parts of Czechia and that it is the touristy part of the town (more expensive than others), just guess how low are prices in other parts of the country and outside touristy spots ...

    • @DK-vn7lr

      @Ojstra I've been to Prague and even in the tourist parts, I found the prices pretty reasonable, I work in NYC, so even expensive Prague was fair. It's not a big deal, but I've watched many of his videos and he usually doesn't eat at super touristy spots. Especially since he wasn't staying in the super tourism zone. It's all good👍

    No issues frames per second as he eye compensates via the persistence of visual (visual purple). You have to drop freq closer to 25Hz or c/s for most people to notice, once again depends on the individual. Really no concern. (Technically operating at 6oHz really means less iron used in transformers on the distribution network, cost saving, also smaller in size; there many other reasons. )
