Gabriel marihuana with THC content is illegal to sell so all those shops in tourist area are scams
look video of this czech guy who is specialized with uncovering tourist traps and they are many in Prague
th-cam.com/video/J0Al4qCnZcU/w-d-xo.html
I see, thanks for the info. I watched the video and am still confused. 🙃
I bought weed in a Chinese shop in Prague and it was certainly real. I smoke every day at home in the US so I would know. It wasn't bad stuff either.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosHow is it confusing? Cannabis with THC is illegal. So either they are lying about it having THC, or they are selling illegal cannabis. I'm assuming most are just lying since it seems that there is a loophole as long as they write "not for human consumption" in Czech.
@@StephanosBlack See the other comment above, they bought some at one of the shops and it was the real deal. The buds I saw certainly looked real, doesn't seem like they would be super low THC. One way to find out I guess is give it a try.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Right. So that's why I'm saying that the shops that sell the "CBD Cannabis" may also sometimes have some THC Cannabis that they are selling illegally too. But most of the time they are probably just lying about the Cannabis having THC in it.
In Italy, I saw Cannabis shops but they were only selling the CBD kind and were honest about it not having any THC.
I was serving as a soldier at the Prague castle back in the 90's (Prague castel guard) and when I had a duty at night I was walking around the castle totally alone with no turists around at all as the castle close its gates in the evening. It was surreal walking around the old walls at night in winter and hearing the bustling life and music bellow in the city whilst at the castle it was eerily silent.
What an interesting assignment to receive. I assume only the best get selected for the honor of being a castle guard. We watched changing of the guards a couple of times, but yeah, it must be a bit erie being there at night when there’s no one around.
woow
Spent 10 good years in Prague, never been mugged or beaten and boy did i get regularly drunk. Good memories!
I live in Prague now, but prior to moving here visited numerous times a year for the past 15 years. I have been all over the city at night in various states of drunkenness and also never once felt the least bit concerned about safety.
Weed is better
I got mugged walking home late one night in Smichov across the street from the Vltava! Two young skater punks grabbed me from behind then grabbed my bag and ran...Stupidly, I had loud industrial music pounding in my ears, and didn't hear them coming up behind me when I was putting my key in the door... Lesson learned. Other than that, as a woman I have never felt unsafe in Prague. 👍👍👍
@@stevemcgowen Now, when I think back of all the blac-out-nights going home on the trams, I'm surprised I am still alive! 😬But because it is Prague, it makes sense! Even stumbling home at 4am in Zizkov was never any problem... Lost a few mobile phones on some crazy nights, though...😂
@@tigerspiritjourneyi have a friend in Prague who already lost about 5 mobile phones, fell asleep in bushes and even got attacked by a street light while walking home half asleep :)
Right in the heart of Central Europe. Prague is a beautiful city that I love to go back to and have visited since 1993 from the USA. Proud that I have Czech heritage.
I lived in Prague for over 20 years! Best city in Europe! 💜💜💜💜💜
Postcard city, Stunning Architecture & beautiful Views everywhere. Classic European marvel. One of my favorites. Great Choice to start Europe again.
Prague is such a charming city, we really loved our visit there some years ago.
That's some amazing old world architecture! Thanks for the insider look.
One of your best,I would love to go to Prague, Im 77 so have lots of time.. Seen lots of the world on my little phone. Thanks to you Gabriel ❤
Prague, unlike most european cities, is very fortunate to have avoided the destruction of WWII. All buildings are original.
Amazing
Actually, there was some destruction when Prague was mistaken for Dresden by one American bomber plane february 1945, which destroyed some buildings. Also, the Astronomical clock building is half size of what it used to be. There used to be a cathedral attached to it, now there is a park. This building was damaged by mortar fire of Russian troops in May 1945. Overall, and compared to other cities, yes, the damage was not extensive.
@dudoklasovity2093 yes many were really bombed out like torino in Italy and others but then great reconstruction happened and they look just as great as prague now. Including your mentioned dresden which also looks great now with old reconstructed architecture. Budapest was bombed so much and that city actually took longer than many others to reconstruct but eventually they did and now it also looks wonderful
All the cities of the iberian peninsula have no idea what you’re talking about..
It's sad to think how many beautiful buildings were destroyed by bombings.
WOW... this city looks amazing!!! ❤ I love the Charles Bridge and the Medieval Tavern... so cool!!! 😊 Cool looking weed shops too!!! 💚
The city definitely has the best architecture in Europe.
London has the best modern architecture in Europe. But prague definitely has the most historical old town in Europe prague looks phenomenal
booo, I saw how they ruined the nice-looking bridge in London. It may look modern, but it's disgusting
WH0A!!! Gabe’s back in action and it’s TWO travel videos today?!?!!! Alright, alright, alright!!!! My day just got a whole lot better!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yeah, the urgency, I feel it too. Times are very volatile, and any TH-cam creator is an easy target. An asset and a liability at the same time.
We really enjoyed our visit to Strahov Library while in Prague. You do have to book with a trained guide to be allowed to enter and not just look in from the doorway. It’s amazing. Our visit was delayed by a few minutes, as there was a reception being attended by the former First Lady that was just wrapping up.
We also discovered an artist colony while walking down towards the river. No tourists at all, lots of art pieces, sculptures, paintings etc. our guide used to live in the area and took us through.
When you say chechya or checcia I remember 2013 when I was also in Prague and the difference between the two countries was a big topic in the media. The Boston marathon terrorist was a chechen. And Obama or his secretary were talking about a czech attacker and the Czech Republic began trending on Twitter as people mixed up the two locations . It made the czech people pretty angry then, which is very understandable. The Czech Republic and Chechnya are two very different entities - the Czech Republic is a Central European country; Chechnya is a part of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus of Eastern Europe, between the Caspian Sea and Black Sea. US citizens are advised not to travel to Chechnya, due to terrorism, kidnapping, and risk of civil unrest
I see, thanks for the info.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I thank you for your travel videos!
My parents are Czech and they told me that Czechs far prefer Czech Republic to Czechia for the country name in English.
@@japankofunmy Czech friends just say CR. Kind of like how you will almost never hear any Dominican say Dominican Republic, they say DR.
@@stevemcgowen A little joke - because of huge amount of German tourists, some people call the Dominican Republic the DDR - Deutsche Dominikanische Republik. (DDR stood for Deutsche Demokratische Republik - former communist East Germany.)
Thank you for this tour of Prague. You are right: ''This is one of the most intersting cities in Europe.'' Listening to your travrlling plans, I would recomend Cesky Krumlov - a very picturesque town , to the south of Prague. Slovakia is a very beautiful country: nice nature, forests, castles, wooden churches, the Danube river and so on. Madeira and Acores are unique. Norway is a splendid country with breathtaking views- fjords, mountains and sea sights.
i've been here going on 18 years but originally from Virginia. Prague is definitely an amazing city. I hope you get a chance to venture out away from the tourists area and check some other areas in the city. More than happy to meet up and show you around...Saturdays are also a great time to check out our Farmer's Markets, such as on Naplavka, which is on the Vltava river. Enjoy your time here!!
The perfect day trip from Prague is the town of Kutna Hora, with the chapel with human bone interior and the totally amazing St. Barbara's Church in the town centre, even more impressive than the cathedral in Prague, and just exploring the town in general. The town is near Prague, you can get there by bus or train. Take note that the bone chapel is a bit outside the town centre though.
Cesky Krumlov and the South Bohemia area in general is amazing, you can also check out the bigger town of Ceske Budejovice (where you sometimes change trains to Cesky Krumlov, if going by train), much less touristy than Cesky Krumlov. I do recommend exploring the Czech Republic with trains even if the trains are a bit slower than the buses, but a more comfortable way to see the landscapes. Also it's cheaper!
Our tour guide said most guests were ready to go home after seeing The Bone Church = they weren't too interested in seeing the cathedral or the mint.
I presume the number of tourists vistitting Kutná hora and especially Church of St. Barbara will skyrocket thanks to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Really quirky and fun place. The Frank Kafka stuff is interesting, along with a bunch of other quirky stuff. The paternoster lift, etc. Cool city.
Prague is a beautiful city, great videos so far! I would love to go back there again. My girlfriend and I are currently at the end of our trip in Italy, it hasn’t been to busy for us visiting Rome and Naples. It has been fun. Keep the great content coming! Cheers from Idaho USA!
Hi Gabriel, one of our all time favourites, we were here in 2014. Thanks so much for the trip down memory lane. Can’t wait for the rest of your travels.
Hi Gabe! Welcome back to Europe 🇪🇺 Let the adventures begin.😊😊😊
Ever since I saw that music video filmed in Prague by INXS (Michael Hutchinson) called Never Tear Us Apart I have been wanting to visit that city. I was only like 16 years old at the time in Queens, New York. Thanks Gabriel. 😎😎🙏🙏
To see this musicians in the st Charles bridge is very cool ❤

Nice dreaming. There are few skyscapers, but out of the way of view on the historical centre and only 109m for the tallest one. For the most part you can ignore their existence. They are seen at 16:16 in a distance. Plus TV tower on the left.
Always nice to see Prague. It IS one of the most interesting cities in Europe and worldwide. For day trips here - Karlovy Vary, Pilsen, Karlštejn and Kutna Hora are all very nice options.
Prague really does look like a beautiful city.
I had lived there and I never realized how special the city is in its beauty and charming vibe, until I left to live abroad. Now I see why many people find it a special place. At least when it comes to appearance.
I often wonder if the people who grew up there are just used to it and think nothing of it.
@@rexx9496 If they have been nowhere else, I guess they normalize it. If one travels the world, appreciates it much more. There’s so much to do there. Now I live in LA and I find the city life kinda trashy and boring (don’t mean to be snobby but that’s how I feel.🤷♂️ Anyways, I am moving back to Prague next year and will buy an apartment there❤️
@@dudoklasovity2093 I'm originally from L.A. No longer live there. I'd be depressed if I had to live in L.A. after growing up in Prague, lol. L.A. is not the prettiest place, though it has some nice parts.
Prague is very picturesque! I'm happy you were able to be back in the US, but I am glad you are back making your epic videos.
I enjoyed your US vlogs a lot, but I’m glad you’re back in Europe. Once again. Let the adventures begin!
Fantastic follow-up video. Great tour of Prague, very interesting and informative. Beautiful views from Charles Bridge. Prague castle is absolutely a sight to see and you managed to convey just how big it really is. Loved it. 😊❤
Great to see you rollin around again Gabe, that stunning Prague church you went in i think was st Nicholas church a stunning Baroque master piece.😎
I think that this is a common baroque style interior of a church. Also saw many of these kinds of vilnius Lithuania also a lot of baroque there
you should already have a million subscribers, man, and even more, although 601k is quite an achievement, as well.
amazing footage, great job, gabriel. greetings from the hot bangkok 🤙🏻
2:19 crazy weather these days in Europe. I was in Prague last weekend 12-13-14 April and it was boiling hot. Almost 30°C at times(above 80 °F). Everyone around in shorts and t-shirts.
Its called "April"
It's been miserable in the UK. Rain for weeks and little sign of Spring, sadly.
@@philoza1000 Czech weather is literally the same as British weather, just steel sky and rain for most of the year.
My favorite city
Went to Prague in 2010. Amazing city. Wanted to visit something outside Prague and chose Olomouc and it didn't disappoint.
Great to see you are still traveling Gabriel. I think you were around the first travel TH-camrs I heard of or one that left a mark in memory, and u are still going strong, that is so cool
Just wandering around the places you like, perceiving their beauty, that is the magic of your videos.👍
Hey Gabe, American jazz knows no boundaries.
Here is a small tip about Scandinavia: In Sweden and Norway, which both does not use the Euro, the nationall currencies have decreased in value by alot to the US dollar in the past few years, much, much more so than the Euro has. Thus Sweden and Norway are for an American much cheaper to visit than they have been before. For 12 years ago, you got 6.50 Swedish krona for 1 US dollar, now you get 10.95. And also for 12 years ago, you got 6 Norwegian krone for 1 US dollar, now you get as much as 11.05! As of today's rates that is. This does however not apply in Denmark as the Danish krone has a fixed exchange rate with the Euro.
Sweden unlike Norway world famous for it's fjords and mountains, is an underrated country by world travelers outside the capital Stockholm. There are many other cool places like the west coast city of Gothenburg and also the island of Gotland, the biggest island in the Baltic Sea with it's beautiful and very well preserved medieval capital Visby, widely considered the best preserved medieval town in Northern Europe and is a UNESCO world heritage site.
As it looks, maybe still in our lifetimes, these Scandinavian countries will be like Mediterranean 20 years ago. :) Or at least countries around the Baltic Sea will be like that - I believe Sopot-Gdynia-Gdansk (PL), Pärnu (EE), Palanga (LT) an Jurmala (LV) are really nice beach places today, too.
@@Ojstra Sweden and Denmark has some really nice beach places in the Baltic Sea too, like the islands of Bornholm (DK), Öland (S) and Gotland (S), the sand on the Danish island of Bornholm is so fine that it used to be in hourglasses, and 2 of these islands, Bornholm and Gotland has really interesting historical places too. Problem is the weather, sad fact is that many days are grey and rainy even if it may be warm, this applies to the entire Baltic Sea area, every summer. I am a Swede and I am going to the beach town of Swinoujscie, Poland for a week in July by the way, hoping for good weather! It's a 6 hours ferry ride south from here.
Has Norway got cheaper?
@@vaultkeeper2a lot of people know sweden because of jonna jinton and she really doesn't like being in larger cities much so she rarely goes to Stockholm when needed and only for a few days. She likes her place in northern Sweden
The annual medieval festival week in Visby is well worth experiencing.
Liked how the salad bar at the Coop in Gothenburg came with seafood options (at least in pre-Covid times).
Karlštejn Castle 🏰 is nice to visit for a day trip and also you can do some nice treks there if people want to go out of Prague and experience the countryside/rural nature side
29:39 LOL I literally could not stop laughing ! 🤣🤣
Pens!
Excellent. 👍😁
what a stunning city indeed
It is so nice to see Prague in all of its glory now. My husband was stationed with the US Army in West Germany when the wall came down. We made several trips across the border into Czechoslovakia mainly to Prague, days after western tourists were allowed in. It was quite a different scene then. The buildings were beautiful but in disrepair with much peeling paint, etc., and the communist soldiers and police presence was ominous.
it was still like that around 2000 - dirt everywhere, black buildings from smog, trash everywhere, now it's much better in this case, but prices like in germany
It looks like a fantastic City. 😲👍😊
So great Gabriel
Thank you Gabriel for a great video! I just wanted to add that the soldier Sveik (Shveik) painted on the restaurant's front sign is a funny character that was created by Yaroslav Gashek.
How lucky you are Mr. Morris..I think life is nothing but a bunch of experiences ........ and you live to the limit....
I love the price of the hotel room with breakfast included love the weather looks like a cool 😎 place
thank you for your vlogs! Greetings from Lithuania!
Was here October 2023, one of the most beautiful cities , I loved the Astronomical Clock
Prague is too crowded nowadays. So many tourists. Price is getting higher and higher. 10 years ago was much better place to travel.
This comment applies to most mainstream places in the world now
You should have been there in ‘89 or even ‘98. Beer less than a a U.S. dollar. Dinner was 5-7 usd
Gabe, when you did your into, your hand was pointing at the Archbishop’s residence. That’s where the Palace scenes In Amadeus were filmed.
I wonder what it was like before it became touristy.
+ housing crisis which changed population in last 10 years, no native people live in center anymore + hundreds of scammers and thieves from balkan and russian mafia everywhere
Went to Prague for the first time in summer of 2022. Absolute tourist zoo of course, but for good reason. The entire center city is might as well be a giant UNESCO world heritage sight.
amazing beautiful city
Hand washing dishes, really enjoy it while watching high roller Gabe vids 👍🥓🍺🇨🇦
If You have time, you should also visit, Cesky Krumlov and Karlovy Vary. It worth it. I like all your videos, keep going. Greetings from Romania.
sweet!
Had to watch again Gabriel 😅❤😊
Yeah. Gabrielle. Craig the seen the previous two vids. WOW! You waste
no time. You say that you will fill us in more along the way. You make me happy thank you Gabrielle. From Craig. UK. Nice tram ( the older faster one;)
Be good!
Glad to hear you plan to return to Greece. This time around I'd strongly recommend visiting the Peloponnese and specifically Mistras, Monemvasia & the Mani.
Great video, Gabriel! Prague reminds me of Budapest, Hungary with the architecture. Very beautiful and charming.
Prague is a very popular tourist destination. If you want to see something, you have to buy tickets on-line in advance. The other option is to wait in line at the ticket office with no guarantee that tickets will still be available.
6c, that's a bit cold for me, 12c here in the UK. Somewhere warmer next month for me, maybe Praha in July for a friends 50th birthday.
One of the nicest castles in the world you still find in Ooidonk next to my hometown Ghent. Worth seeing if you visit the most beautiful medieval town Ghent.
Ghent? Isnt this a card-game in the videogame Witcher 3? 🤔😃
Sure it is. Ghent also homebase of studio best videogame of the year Baldur’s gate 3.
The mosaic on the Golden gate of the Cathedral depicts the last judgement day and is from 1372 or so.
Oh, if you go to Norway, you should rent a car and drive the Trollstigen, a mountain pass just like the Transfăgărășan you drove through in Romania, but very, very steep, going through the fjords!! There's a loop road there.
Also, drive the Atlanterhavsveien (Atlantic Ocean Road) from north to south, with bridges over the water, where very famous pictures of Norway are taken!!
You should also visit Bergen, Ålesund and Trondheim. If you decide to go further north, don't miss Bodø, the Lofoten archipelago and Tromsø, which is way up north!
Sounds great, looking forward to seeing more of Norway. Not sure when I'll go there at this point, first I'll be headed to the Mediterranean to get some sunshine.

Gabriel, as far as i know weed is not legal in prague. These are cbd products. Thc seeds are not illegal however prior to germination.
It is decriminalized. Not legal to buy or sell, but my friends and I roll up at our local which is next to a police outpost and smoke in the alley while police are coming and going and they don’t look twice. Same with walking around. For tourists I wouldn’t recommend it, however.
Nice vid 👍
GREAT VIDEO THANKS. SALUDOS
Great upload speed
On my way to Prague rigtig now
Prague was a capital of Czechoslovakia, that's correct, however Czechoslovakia was not a communist state for the whole duration. In fact, it was founded in 1918 as a parliamentary democracy and it stayed that way until 1938 when the Munich Dictate was signed. And before that it was the seat of Bohemian kings and even few Holy Roman Emperors until 1611. It was also one of the largest cities in the whole Europe back in the late Middle Age (the largest one north of the Alps and east of the Rhine river).
Nice video 😊 Come to the Bosnian Olympic mountains near Sarajevo 😊❤🇧🇦
The confused and strange looks you get when just walking around and talking to yourself.
Maybe a vid about how you deal with that?
Does it feel good to be back traveling? I can tell you it feels good to see you back after a well deserved break. BTW: I did enjoy your videos from the west coast and El Salvador

V Praze si ještě dejte Petřín, rozhledna, malá kopie Eiffelovky, park, hvězdárna, bludiště. Dolu s Petřina do unikátního Strahovského kláštera , vedle je pak Loreta se zvonkohrou atd.
Z Prahy krásný výlet do starobylé Kutné Hory, cca 70 km. Na jih asi 50 km do Benešova, kde je významný zámek Konopiště Ferdinanda dEste. Atentát na něj v Sarajevu vedl k 1.světové válce.
Looks like another typical European city I’d love to visit but the rest of the world thinks exactly the same as me. Unfortunately cities like Prague and many others in Europe are suffering from over tourism.
I live an hour from London. London is the number 1 most visited and touristy city in Europe you are correct tho the beautiful European city's are getting too crowded by tourists
@Leojw10 Totally agree, I live outside London but rarely visit the centre because of all the tourists.
No tourists when you know where to go, Prague is a big city, there is much more than just "stupid" Charles Bridge and Disneyland around castle and oldtown square. Each district was independent city in the past and has it's own historical center with 0 tourists.

@GabrielTraveler is there any airport you try to avoid? We went through Amsterdam last year. It's just too big when changing flights, too many lines between terminals. Lucky we had a long layover between flights.
Airports in general are terrible places to be, this is way many people try to avoid them as much as possible
I love AMS. I usually schedule a 3 hour layover to get through immigration and have a coffee and shopping.
