      - find the ip-adresse from your NAS in the Router-Settings
      - install Putty
      - tipe in the NAS ip-adresse and the SSH Port (22)
      - LogIn to your NAS
      - command id

you lost me at 2:15 I'm a tech noob trying to understand how to update jellyfin to the latest..right now it's at 10.9.7 following the DSM version. But when I try to open on my android TV it's asking to update to 10.9.11..I can still access the jellyfin but keeps crashing and I tried to reset at the DSM but I'm getting confused.
I have no idea how I set it up the first time..How do I restart everything so that I can use the latest?

I have my jellyfin already installed from package center of community. How to set up my nas to let the jellyfin be able to hardware transcode?

It should work the same way. If you follow along from 4:10 along in the video you should see similar menus/options to setup hardware transcoding.

Hi, thanks for the great tutorial, this helped me a lot, but I just can't get the remote access to work. I did everything in the video: DDNS, certificate, reverse proxy and even the port forwarding. Please could you help me with maybe going over the port forwarding once again, because, I think that might be the problem. :D Thanks

Update: the problem is with my ISP, when my router, I have IPv6 which makes port forwarding harder for almost everything, that said, I just gave up on the idea of remote access, it's sad, but I was thinking of buying an SSD and copying the movies to it and taking it with me.
tl;dr: I can't do it, I will buy an SSD

hello. I have a ds416play and followed your instruction. When I try to test if hardware transcoding is working, I get an error saying "Playback failed due to a fatal error". If I turn off the transcoding setting, everything works again. Any idea why this would be happening?

Are there any risks with this method of remote access? Is it secure

Good question!! With the method described in this video you are exposing your Jellyfin setup to the Internet so I'd advise to make sure you use a secure username and password for your set up. If you would rather not expose your Jellyfin install over the Internet you should consider using a VPN for remote access instead. Hope that helps? Best of luck in your set up!!

I would appreciate it if you would quote me when you use instructions that are from my website.

Great video. Looks like jellyfin is a great replacement for the no longer supported Video Station. Is there a way to setup jellyfin in such a way that it is possible to stream to chromecast?
