    Well done! Could you please make a video on SMB multi-channel? You have been doing an awesome job.

      Thank you!! Glad you liked the video. You read my mind on a video on SMB multi-channel. That will likely be my next video so stay tuned 😉.

    Thx, very useful. It is a shame that we are in the year 2024 and Synology is still not offering native 2.5 Gb/s Ethernet. Only option is to buy the expensive 10 Gb extension card.

      You're welcome!! Yeah, would be nice if there were 2.5 Gb/s options through Synology.

      @@digital_aloha Hi, I just found out, you can buy a USB-A Ethernet adapter which upgrades the network speed to 2.5 GBit/s.
      Could you test this, please? I don't have a Synology NAS yet. Will buy it in a few weeks, I guess.

      @@klauserwin9860 Cool... Which one specifically were you looking at? I'll pick one up and test (maybe create a video as well).

      The users report that the UGREEN USB 2.5G LAN Adapter Ethernet Adapter USB 3.0 to RJ45 2500Mbps Gigabit should be working fine. Code: B0CWV2Q6HJ for German store.
      I wonder if the Ping takes a hit, because the controller converts an ethernet signal to USB. Maybe you have some loss there.

      Just saw your response. I'll purchase the UGREEN USB Ethernet Adapter that you mentioned and will see how things work. Looks like the Amazon code is the same in the US. Thanks!!

    I tried the Link Aggregation method and USB 2.5GbE method with my DS918+. I don't see any difference with the file transfer from the PC connected to a 2.5GB PCle network card running 2gig internet speed. My file transfer speed rate is 85-90MB/s. Everyone else using the same method gets a 200-plus transfer rate. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

    so based on your video, it's better to use the the adaptive load balancing compared to to static LAG and LACP..

    • @digital_aloha
      @digital_aloha  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is what I found in my testing, but I'm not sure if the results would have been different if I were using better managed switches.

    I thnk everybody misses the detail that physical hard drives 3.5" are the bottleneck. They cant write further than 120-150Mbps. The hard drives of your synology are the bottleneck. If you want speed, get M2 pool drives into the newest synologies with 10GB network card into the synology Nas
