- Spartan Race Herc Hoist video by Spartan Ireland. Here's a few tips on what works for me, (a light weight human hoisting a heavy weight). Legs, leverage, big chunks at a time, and grip-saver option to help you conquer this obstacle. Hope this helps, see you at a Finish Line soon, AROO!
Thank you for this! Did this strategy today and it WORKED!!!
Woohoo! So good to hear. Congrats, Spartan! AROO!
Great advice, thanks! This should be much easier for me tomorrow. I did it the hard way laying on my back all the way up last November!
Great advice as find this the hardest strength wise but with this technique hopefully be easier next time 👍💪
It was much easier for me using this technique!
You are so genius, less effort more efficiency
Thanks! Hopefully I'll see you out there. Going to Kelowna?
I’m about to do Spartan kids rn and I have never done this before- so I’m glad to watch this video and I will try my best to follow. Thanks for the video tho, was able to see the proper posture!
Have fun, crush it! Thanks for watching my video. 👊
@@spartanireland2922 I was able to get 3rd place for my overall age category! But I wasn’t able to get my medal because I joined the open category instead of the competitive category...But now that I know it, I will be sure to win back gold in my next Spartan races! 😁💪💪
Woah. Loving this. The veins on his body look like he eats steel rope for spaghetti.
nailed it
I found out if you pull it continuously its much easier compared to taking the breaks. It simply moves with momentum.
I am running my first sprint in August. Any other tips you can offer? Thanks
Awesome! Welcome to Spartan racing. Warning: high risk of being hooked on #Spartan lifestyle. Check out my other videos. In general, run speed, endurance & grip are the 3 keys to performance. I recommend long forearm/grip workouts where you continue to work those muscles after they are tired. Hanging grip, climbing, pulling, etc. The races continue to tax your grip, hand strength, endurance over and over. Don't forget to enjoy it, embrace the difficulty and know you can finish what you start. AROO!
@@spartanireland2922 Thank you. I am definitely going to work on my grip as my friend who runs them told me the same thing. I will check out your other vids. Very helpful, thanks!
I’m a beginner also and just did my first one today - for this obstacle I started the same way but since I’m a heavy guy I would use my weight to bring it down, step on the rope (opposite arm opposite foot) and repeat, hoist down, step, hoist down, step. Worked perfectly.
Good luck saturday
My first sprint, I walked fast, did not run much, did not pause at obstacles, and finished without doing any burpees. I was fit enough for running or obstacles, but not both. Walking does not cause burpees. So, learning the obstacles is more important to me.
Im 62 kilos but i can do pullups with 30 kgs. Will my weight be a problem?
I don't see why your weight would be a problem. I am a similar weight. The obstacle is mostly about leverage (kicking off the gate with 1 foot), and train those back & shoulder muscles
Trying to build one to train on, what width is the rope used in the races?
I believe if you train for rope climb, you will be sufficiently prepared for this as well.
how heavy is it
It's 80-100, but sometimes it feels like 130. I recommend you train with 130 lbs (60 kilos).
how much weight is needed to lift? for men
I think it's about 60-65 kilograms
¿Cuánto pesa?
80 libra, Aporximadamente. Mas pesado cuando esta mojado
