I use a plain hose. Put the hose down in liquid as deep as possible. Put thumb over hose end. Pull out of liquid so that it is below the liquid level and release thumb. Should start the siphon with out issue. I use this method to siphon 5 gal. gas cans in to fuel tank of car, lawn mower, etc. Easy peasy.
Great review!! I picked up a 10 footer for my Gerry can while towing my trailer. Your right. The pour spouts of the can suck. So with this. I can keep the can in the back in my Taco, slip in safety siphon and put the other end of hose directly into tank. Brilliant!!! No lifting heavy can, no spilling fuel. It’s perfect.
I can’t believe you didn’t know, I’ve been using them for five or six years now. You’re the greatest thing since sliced bread. Don’t bother with the one from Harbor freight, it’s worthless. The one you have is a good one.
Agree! I have the Harbor Freight version and just tried to use it for the 1st time. The plastic hose has 2 permanent kinks in it from sitting in packaging and the metal pump mechanism is absolute junk. Couldn’t siphon even a drop of gas. Don’t waste your money on the Chinese garbage people!
Hi Brian. I recently bought two each of the Ontario Marine Raider knives you recommended. One is for a friend for his birthday. One is for me. Thank you for the Intel. Love your content. Keep it up!
I'm a year late, but I ordered one. I'm your neighbor down South and I've never seen one. I live near rugged suppressors. You need to come up and go view the Facility. Great suppressors, I own 3.
Ah yes, I often leave a little puzzle, I'll explain. The fitting with the ball rattling around is just a check valve to only allow flow up and out from the liquid source. By moving the tubing up and down rapidly the check valve opens and closes as a little more fluid is pushed into the tubing with each downstroke. You can use your thumb on the outflow end to accomplish the same check flow function. Just remove your thumb during the downstroke and replace it on the tubing for the upstroke. The tubing will fill even quicker once you get your coordinated thumb-hand- arm timing perfected. Another method is to submerge as much tubing as possible, seal the outbound end, and lift. A partial vacuum forms which allows the liquid to be lifted with the tubing. Then just quickly lower the end you're sealing to below the liquid source level source and release the seal... A siphon will commence. Thanks for the reply. Please let me know if I'm leaving a clear enough picture behind. Actually I'll write a simple version shortly. Replacing our burst water main right at the moment. I'll be back.
You made me laugh when you told yourself to shut up, because I was thinking "he's a bit long winded" ...I fast forwarded to when you was ready to demo!!!! I had to subscribe after you said that to yourself! I like your channel name & the catch phrase!!!
Bryan, what size of that device will have a hose that fits into a modern car's fuel fill hole? I'm more interested in getting gas out of a can and into my car than the other way around. I think that even if you could get the "pump" end of the device to go into the fill hole, it wouldn't be able to get down into the gas. There are screens in there to thwart thieves and check valves to keep fuel from running out if the car overturns, so the days of siphoning gas FROM a car are over. I want the biggest size that will fit into my tank and the website doesn't give that info. Thanks bro.
As long as the eventual outlet is lower than the water you are siphoning. Basically, once the water makes it over the high point in the hose it pulls the rear of the water down.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose I can believe it. The one I had for so long the hose wouldn't bend anymore. I have a new one I do not use it often but it's a handy device. Never know when you might need it.

OK, it took me a minute to visualize what you meant. Yep, that should work.

I've had one for nearly 10 years and now thanks to you I know how to use it. Thanks brian!
I purchased a few of these about 10 years ago, and they came in handy for siphoning gas out of my lawnmower.

I've seen something similar, but they make it for changing your fish tank water.
I'm gonna get two, one for water, one for gas..thanks Bryan

I surely need this to siphon gas out of my f150 that's got a half tank & I need to to drop tank to fix pump .
iI had the check valve fall off the hose when shaking to start siphon.... beware of that potential...

I do indeed
Sorry get to the point
I totally agree with you. Take too long to get to the point
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BRIAN!!!!!
With a little coordinated thumb pneumatic check valving the tubing can become all you really need.
You lost me at "coordinated" ;-)

Great explanation. I get it now.
That's a first for me. I need one
Never seen it before. Never heard of it. I'm getting 2 at least. Thanks.
Should have one in every car and home.

Does this works with just a normal hose without any attachments?
Thats a cool siphon!
Not sure why but I want one !!!
We fellow gas siphoners know why. LOL!!
This tube is the same principle as my fish tank siphon. It's nothing new!
Will it work if you switch ends in the liquid? I think I saw someone do it that way too. Just asking.

Thanks for the helpful info!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing, I’ve never seen that either.🤔
You read the instructions! Oh! :).
Yes I do!
Brian, let me tell you about the wheel. LOL
Good review Brian , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thanks for watching!
I just brought one yesterday at Harbor Freight 1/2 inch for 5.00 dollars on sale, who cares about overpaying if is USA
I got this exact hose....inserted into my cars gas cap....NOW IT IS STUCK!!!!!!!!! Anyone know how to get this out????
Those have been around for decades floating ball
💥THAT'S PRETTY DARN COOL! 😎👍
I WONDER WHY I NEVER SAW THAT EITHER ALL THESE YEARS??🤔 I ALSO WONDER IF IT COULD WORK AS WELL AS A SUMP PUMP?

@@SurvivalOnPurpose INTERESTING...Worth a Try!👍
Especially if there's NO POWER.
Kool. Deal. Thank u
It's a jiggle siphon
awesome
This does not work on a car
Oh Man, you sure know how to make a short story, long.
Can you see it?
Get to it ? 7 min waiting?
Does this work on cars
If you get one with a small enough hose to get down the gas tank fill tube
@@SurvivalOnPurpose Thank you.
This thing has to be 15-20 years old
around 40

Enough forget !
Would you just look at that! 🤣
Yeah man we see ittttt ;)
Ahhh, the simplest things in life.
Wait, you don't know how this works?
Of course I do. Magic ;-)
6 mins into a 9 mins video before he shows how to use the tube for 20s!
Hose is too short
Too much talking show us how it works
Too much talking!
Omg all this waisted time!!! 5:25 guys!! It almost got dark on him!! 😮
Joe Friday
you wasted 9 minutes of my time when 30 seconds would be enough
To much talking just get on with it.
Get to the point of video
