Altar is in the mdidle, candles to the side of the altar and three chairs behind the altar, the middle chair being the biggest (where the priest sits). My childhood church was setup up just like that.

Around the age of 15 I was going to a non-denominational church of Christ part of the Candlestick movement my pastor had quite often trying to say how we are like all the other children but we're a mixture of them but yet we denounce quite a few things about them on what day he was bashing the Catholic Church specifically the one here in our town I hate touching his message so dearly too heart that I walked to that church and said Sagat in dark angry voice burn this effing Church to the ground and a voice responded back to that saying you are no better then what you think they're guilty of I responded but sir they're not Christian Alpha sent back yes they are Christian it took me a day before I can finally reconcile this and I just decided to go back to that church Saint Mary's sit outside of it and pondering for a while and that's when I really started to want to come into the Catholic Faith now that I'm going I feel like I'm home all throughout my life people kept saying don't be Catholic only to find they don't know what they're missing I feel like I'm closer to God than I've ever been

The Mass is an unbloody sacrifice. We aren't literally crucifying Our Lord again or something. The sacrifice was initiated at the last supper and culminated at Calvary. The Last Supper is literally Our Lord teaching the apostles how to say Mass and the substance of the canon of the Mass has been unchanged since St. Peter.
The roman arrogant mindset of Byzantine empire influenced orthodox church very much. After fall of Roman Empire catholics wanted to start over and be more like the early christians which Romans persecueted, but the Byzantines sticked to their Roman traditions. The orthodox church is definitely not the worst, but it is not logical to say it is better than catholism
Veneration and adoration are two separate things. Veneration is having respect for the closest to god, like the saints and Holy Mary. Adoration is reserved for God.
