I Still Shed No Tears For Maggie Thatcher.
The Queen had a state funeral and that horses, Thatcher had a ceremonial funeral with soldiers. So what's the difference?
Just more soldiers on parade and the use of the state gun carriage. A state funeral is only reserved for the monarch, unless the govt grants one to a commoner (Churchill, Gladstone). You can have a period of lying in state for both a ceremonial funeral (Queen Mother) and a state funersl (QEII)

At a state funeral the guns carriage is pulled by Navy ratings, at a ceremonial funeral it’s pulled by horses. There’s not that much difference apart from that.

It's sad there are still some peddling the lie that she somehow, either through malice or ignorance, hurt the poor. Compare the standard of living for Britain's poorest in 1979 with that of 1990 and beyond. A massive improvement, and she was a major factor in delivering that.

As for the problems in industrial towns, it was Scargill and the Unions that started that fight. She only finished it.
