    I did the layout and installation by studying the on line videos Husqvarna had on the web th-cam.com/users/postUgkx2KDztGvdU79XTmlqIMSUyPq8CjprGJOR also recommended it When I started the unit it stated it would take a few days to learn all the spots in the yard. So I thought it was just finding the areas till I noticed it was cutting. It is so quite you don't know it is cutting.

    NB : You show installing around the fountain bowl at 10cm. Howerever, it has a raised edge so it should be at 26cm as if it was a tree.

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That is a debate here at HQ. Technically it is too small a circle for the mower to pick up on the wire and run in a circle around it, so the 10cm is enough just for it to bump off the bird bath. but if the circle were any bigger it would definitely need to be 26cm in case the mower decided to treat it as part of the boundary and try follow the wire.

      @@WorxUK I digg the transparency and openess. I'm curious about putting the base station next to/on an island like a shed or gazebo for the shade and power

      @@cdoublejj as long as it has enough room to maneuver it should be fine. It needs enough to approach in a straight line and pull off straight, although it usually does turn off the base right away. There are retractable roof garages available but a lot of people just install a simple shelf/shelter.

    I like to see the use of the magnetic Flux of the conductors to cancel out another conductor. As a diesel tech I have to make sure i do the opposite to not disturb other circuits and their individual magnetic Flux fields.

    Hello, just purchased a L2000 model and figuring out how to lay the wire. I have a place where two wires converge into a point, i.e. a path and the fence. how tight a loop can I make for it to cut a maximum space? Didn't find helpful advice on this in the manual.

    Hi, what if the distance of the object like that fountain or the flower bed is less than a 1m to the edge, then what to do?

  • @ZmzgZis
    @ZmzgZis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dig the wire down. My wire has been cut at least 12 times. The robot lifts the wire up when turning and cut the wire. Does not matter how much you pin it down. When in the ground no problem.

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear this has been an issue for you. It shouldn't be necessary to bury the wire, but as you say, if you want it to be hassle free it's worth the extra work. Just pegging it down should be enough but you need to ensure you do it frequently enough along the boundary, your lawn is cut short so it's not lying on top of longer grass and that it's a fairly even surface.

    I live in tropical sunshine Scotland, lol is this thing (electric prong charging station) even weather proof, there's no mention of cover sheds anywhere

      @WorxUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it is fairly tropical at the moment even in Scotland ;) Yes it is all fully waterproof. Slightly south of you we're had no cover and had it out three years with no issues so far. As part of the yearly maintenance we do advise cleaning the prongs by rubbing with light sandpaper to remove oxidisation but we are also developing a removable charging station for those in more extreme climates. Garages are available from Amazon and E-Bay and a lot of people also make their own.

    I just got one today. It works fine but I sent it home once from my phone. That's when it hit a no go area around a tree and decided to follow that home. Only it just kept going around and around the tree. Any suggestions?

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David, the best approach is either to pull your tree ring of wire out to be a bigger, preferably squared off shape rather than a tight circle or to widen the wires going out to the circle around the tree to further than 15cm apart so that the mower recognises them, and will incorporate the tree into the boundary. Hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with your customer service team or the Worx Landroid Fan Club for a quicker response should you need further advice.

    • @davidmllebjerg1321
      @davidmllebjerg1321 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WorxUK Thanks - I think your last suggestion will work well. The mower will have a patch of grass between the wires leading to the tree, that will not be cut. But when the mower does the edge cutting twice a week it will probably get it there. I haven't had the problem other then that one time, so I will probably just leave it as it is.

      @@davidmllebjerg1321 Hi David, yes I think if it's only 15-20 cm the edge cut shout cover it. Great, hope it doesn't happen again, the AI is normally quite good at learning as it goes, but if it does, you have a solution.

    I have section of about a foot and a half of grass between my patio and swimming pool. If I put boundary wire around pool and patio, will the landroid mower have any issues cutting in-between this section? Thanks.

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jeff, that's a bit narrow for the mower to mow. It may pass through but only on a boundary cut. You might have to exclude the pool as an island the way the bird bath is done in the video, but it's difficult to best advise without seeing your set up. If you need more advice, the Worx Landroid Fan Club on facebooks are full of Fans who are very experienced and knowledgeable or you can message our team on there showing photos of your set up for more advice.

    Isn't the barrier wire just 16 or 18 gauge insulated wire? The reason I ask is my house is in the middle of my yard and I would like the mower to mow all the way around. What happens if I just make a perimeter around the yard but not the house? Is it like a robot vacuum and will just turn if it touches the outside house walls?

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HI, absolutely it is 18 gauge insulated wire and you could just do a perimeter around the house and the mower would bounce off the walls and eventually learn but for the sake of the possible scraping and continual bumping, we would advise doing the house too. You treat it like an exclusion zone and just wire a 'lollipop' at 90 degrees to the boundary, around the house, and then back to the boundary again, keeping the parallel wires very close or touching. Hope this helps.

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the ACS was specifically designed to avoid trees and run around the base and resume mowing to continue in a line from where it avoided the tree. Unless there are above ground roots that it will get stuck on, you should be fine to not need to isolate each tree.

    How to make Landroid cross the driveway and mow another side of the lawn? Certainly buying two Landroids for a lawn is expensive and I wanted to see if there is a way to solve my issue by using a Landroid L.

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kevin, there are various ways you can probably solve this, but it depends on what the layout is like. If the mower can cross the driveway, it’s fairly easy as it can be set up as a second zone. However, you will need to wire it and so it will rely on you having a way to lay down the wire. Pavers and paths are easier as you can pass the wire between them. Otherwise you could purchase just the base unit and wire it up as a whole new lawn, but you would need to lift the mower and place it in the second section when needed. Our helpful customer service team will be happy to advise you if you want to get in contact via the website support form.

    mich interessiert mal, wie der Worx landroid mit Spieltürmen (Schaukel und Rutsche) umgeht und diese problemlos drumherum mäht?

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it deals with children's playground equipment by a) installing the ACS sensors, it will just slalom around it and carry on mowing or b) you can hard wire the area out of the mowing area by creating an exclusion zone when you set up the mower or c) bouncing off it and then learning where it is eventually (not ideal) or d) you can use the 'off limits' module which is also an add on, to create a section which is avoided by the mower but this is usually used for temporary areas like paddling pools or seasonal bulbs. The ACS module is probably the best option, it can use it to navigate even complex areas where there are many trees so it should work well for playground equipment. Hope this helps.

    • @WorxUK

      Hi no you don't, you don't have to use it at all if you don't want to - we find rounding the corners also just helps the mower to move smoothly. It's just about how tight the corners are and sometimes a bit of trial and error. It is recommended for a very tight corner or if you are very fussy about your edges and want to ensure full coverage. Good luck with your installation!

      The best would be to incorporate that into your layout if possible, so you permanently exclude it by wiring it off. • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be possible to house your mower in the alcove as it only needs 80cm to run in, and can leave the docking station at an angle. However you may find it a little small. It is preferable to have a bit of space for it at the front and you also have the size of the charging plate to consider. But, the Landroid charging station is actually so discrete that you would hardly notice it in your lawn after a couple of weeks once the grass starts growing through the base. It really is hardly intrusive at all. It runs in from the side and requires no reversing unlike other mowers, so it is completely designed to leave the least impact on your lawn.

      Hi Jose, it can but you won't be able to bury the wire and this might cause an issue. It really doesn't need to be housed inside anywhere and the charging plate is pretty discrete once the grass grows. If you want to get advice from our technical team you can chat to them on the Worx Landroid Fan Club page (international) or via the website support.

    I wish my box came with the ruler

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, sorry to hears yours didn't. It's contained on the lid, the same as the triangle, you just press or cut it out? But it's just either 10cm or 26cm which you can also just cut out of cardboard using a tape measure or just use a normal ruler. This would be much faster than a tape measure. A tip would be to mark the two lengths on the ruler with a bit of coloured tape so you can check really quickly. Hope this helps.

      @@WorxUK The mower is expensive. How much would a plastic ruler and triangle cost? Having to punch it out of the box is ridiculous, not to mention that you do not mention that they are part of the box. Just shows they are included.

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jckrell It's not about the cost it's about reducing plastic in the environment. These are singular use items only used during installation, and a ruler or tape measure is an item most people would already have access to. As a responsible manufacturer we are committed to reducing single use plastics and have almost eliminated these from our packaging.

    Did you have any problems with the landroid runnning over and cutting the boundary wire? Mine cut the boundary wire 4 times within the first hour. But my lawn is not a flat as yours, I guess that’s why. This device does horrible on uneven terrain

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry to hear that. It does need to have the wire pegged flat or you can bury that section if it is sticking up. It will be pulled into the grass within a couple of weeks and then you won't have that issue again. The Landroid will eventually make your lawn look a lot more even but there is a particular model which is designed for very uneven terrain. Contact the Worx Customer Service team on 0345 202 9679 for any further advice.

    Seems like more trouble than it’s worth, why not just build one that has a camera and uses gps instead of having a tripping hazard with wires

      Because people won’t pay for it. Others companies do. I use autonomous mowers with my mowing business and they run about 50k each

    This is disappointing. I was ready to buy this but there is no way I'm just going to have a wire laying on top of the yard. Can it be buried? My entire backyard is fenced. Can't it just use bumpers and sensors like a Roomba?

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      The wire will eventually become buried over time and embed into the lawn itself. We do have our new Landroid Vision mowers coming out soon with are boundary less and need no wires.

      @@lopez8971 yes absolutely, there are rolls of wire available to purchase if you run out. It also comes with more than enough for your size of lawn and three connectors, but these are easily sourced at any DIY shop.

    Bought this thinking it would work sort of like a Roomba, power on and it starts working. Nope. This set up is tedious. Returning it tomorrow.

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Rasco, sorry you feel that way. The set up takes less than a couple of hours maximum depending on the size of your garden and saves so much time in the future. You literally never have to mow again. That is at least a couple of hours saved every single week, even more if you need to collect and drop off clippings (once we're able to again).

    Nice Toy, but does not appear to cut any grass

    • @WorxUK
      @WorxUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not a toy, it's a really hard working, super intelligent machine that saves hours of work. It does cut the grass, just a small amount every day which then mulches the lawn. You may not see it but you will always see perfectly cut grass which gets healthier and healthier and keeps the weeds away.
