Blanche was such a brilliant character. Her delivery and comic timing were outstanding. The casting of Maggie Jones & Anne Kirkbride as mother & daughter was genius. Ken : "You interfering old.....goat !" 🐐 😂
The casting was spot on. I think the same with the actresses, playing Gemma and Bernie is too
She was a brilliant actress, her timing was perfect.
17:43 “now you try explaining thou shalt not steal to some kid who’s off his head on glue” 😂😂😂😂
Ken's face was a picture at that!
And then Rita’s face 😂😂
The only thing they understand... Is extreme violence 😂
She's Hilarious. Corries writing strong characters like Blanche these days has gone down the pan.
Another fantastic Blanche video. I don't care what they say about the golden age of Corrie, for me Blanche 1999-2009 was THE golden age of Corrie.
Lol. Of all the golden decades in Corrie’s history (that even a 16-year-old could tap-into and familiarise-themselves-with if they really wanted to), you’ve gone for a decade that featured some pretty-lacklustre years (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009)?
@@Anonymous_Anon882 were they lacklustre years for Blanche though?
@@kaysmith8992 no but Blanche was better when she was younger. In her later years she did kind-of morph more into a caricature on acid and at one point she was more annoying than the likes of Norris and Kirk.
@@kaysmith8992 (okay, maybe-not Kirk.)
this is fantastic! Blanche was one of the best CS characters of all time!
Brilliant! When Blanche thought Ken was gay you could tell Anne Kirkbrides laughter was for real. Great writing.
How I miss Blanche! Thanks for putting that together. What a fun trip down Corrie’s memory lane!
You’re welcome! There’s also a 1999 version in the Classics playlist that once again is worth it just for the final scene.
Thank you. I’ll be sure to check it out.
The scenes between Blanche, Deirdre & Ken are my favourite thing about Coronation Street. So so soooo good and funny.
I laughed and I cried. An iconic character and a fantastic actress. RIP.
Blanche was a brilliant character.
Miss Blanche so much.
EDIT 17:49 Oh my SIDES! "extreme violence" 😄
The woman was a natural. Comic genius.
my favourite blanche quote was when she made peter a cup of tea and he said "cheers nan". She replied "even his gratitude is soaked in alcohol...." lol
I used to have a mug with my favourite Blanche quote on it.
"Good looks are a curse Deidre. You and Kenneth should count yourselves lucky."
I was gutted when I broke it, I have been trying to find a replacement ever since.
One of the few characters I really like from this show
Blanche is an absolute legend
Blanche is the GOAT
Miss Blanche and Deirdie so much ❤❤
If only todays Corrie was as light hearted as this - stopped watching recent Corrie years ago when the story lines got unrealistic
I'd argue that it's always been unrealistic
It's terrible now.
Thank you so much! I hope you do all the years!
I love Blanche coronation Street is not the same without her
Awesome to see Blanche stand up for Alma like that 🙌
Blanche having Alma's back 🙌 18:25
What a fantastic Acterss blanch was
10:35 Blanche talking about Bethany not having a dad only for Adam to be her stepdad 21 years later
These Blanche superbcut videos are amazing - Well done! Cannot wait for the 2002 one when Classic Corrie moves onto the 2003 episodes in the next few days!
I’m working on it!
You're a LEGEND!!! Thank you so much!
Great writer's at that time...
I have not seen Half There’s Blanche Sense Before
I miss blanch so much 😢 😞
Blanche was so funny 😂😂😂😂
Love this 😂.. Fantastic.
7:17 "Are you just gonna sit there while he abuses your mother"
"Yes" 🤣🤣
😂😂 Blanche was gold
I love the way Blanche Spoke to Elliott
4:00 it's Jacqueline Chadwick who also played Tina Dingle on Emmerdale 😅
Blanche the much missed Maggie Jones should have had an open Mike night she was hilarious
Blanch is such a Funny actress
How many scarves did Blanche have 😂😂😂
Blanche was the mother in law Ken deserved, she always twisted the knife in after the initial blow. Loved watching her verbally annihilate him at every opportunity. 😂❤😂
EXTREAM VIOLENCE!! HAHAHHAHAHA This is making me LOL
Oh listen to him the mouse that roars 😂
Never watch now..Blanch was a true character. The best.. Lancashire humour,,,,
Oh my goodness. Its me mother!!!!
Only the insane write letters to newspapers 🤣🤣 truth
"Common as muck as that one, at least she's got some go about her"...
Ken goes off.
Blanche " I don't know why you're picking on me?"
Every scene with her was golden.
When Sarah was pregnant we all knew Blanche was going to open her mouth.
"If they come in here drinking away it's no wonder they've no idea what they're kiddie gets up to".
"I mean Audrey was what we used to call a Gym Slip Mam". ..oooh Blanche
If Tracy has gone they have a perfect opportunity to wait five years then get a really good actress back to play her and make her a mini blanch. No Mrs Hunt is one of the many many things the show is missing.
16:36
Our Heritage... these were the good days. Wish I could sign Max's petition.
Thus began Ken's nine year long nightmare!
7:19 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 YES
Please can you do one of these for Norris
It should have been DAME Maggie Jones rather than DAME Maureen Lipman... bestowed for Consistent Services to Entertainment...
Even in 2023, Maureen's mutterings don't fill the sheer lyrical lynchings that Maggie showcased so slickly...
An almost impossible shadow to recreate...
Makes me sad...I used to love it....Then came to a point...
Blanch could certainly run rings round Ken and Deardrie
17:50 😂
Will best bits 2001 be coming sometime???
Sometime soon, yes.
@@TheTalkoftheStreetPodcast look forward to it!!
@@evanslater4551 it's up now ❤
The script writers seemed to forget that Blanche was a totally different character before her final return. She was certainly not a prude. She had several men friends. When she started to badmouth Gail, Audrey & Sarah she seemed to conveniently forget that her own daughter was the biggest slapper of them all. Blanche was a really nasty character with no heart or compassion and was totally self centred. She has been compared to Ena Sharples but whilst Ena could be vicious she was never plain evil.
She different when she is in the 70s coronation street she nothing like this
I think blanche couldve been a real person
And you look at Coronation street today with all the bland, boring and uncharismatic characters.....same with Home and Away and all other soaps....the golden age is well and truly over for soaps
The acting was much better then as well 👍
UGH, I couldn't stand Blanche.
What’s wrong with you
No sense of humour
Extreme violence is all they get that's true Blanche.
Keilworth (kennel for a pup) bit rude writers!
Are you jus gonna sit there while he abuses your own mother? Yes.
A flibbity jibbit. Who doesn't know that? Dev is a terrible actor. Always reading his lines.
Dev can't understand english and can barely speak it.
Bit racist
