    Some good ideas. From someone who has a wall of Folgers coffee cans with brass and various jars with cast bullets among other things.

      Yep I too have the Folgers cans in the barn. They're pretty tough to beat.

    John- great stuff here! My problem is that I grew up poor, and through a life time of being frugal and limited income I have a difficult time throwing ANYTHING that could be used for a later project. There are so many things on my bucket list to make from recycled parts I have collected over the years……….. but there is a consensus about cluttered desks are acceptable if you are a part time genius. Back to cleaning my bench top.

    I thought about this video this week.
    I had a empty 1# Hodgdon container and cut the top off and used it a a funnel when filling a powder meter hopper from a 8# keg.
    When I was done reloading, I used the same 1# makeshift funnel to transfer the remaining powder back to the keg. It fits the hopper and the neck of the keg perfect.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome. That's a great use (or re-use) of that container.

    I use the same sandwich meat containers for my live reloads, pistol calibers are kinda nice in them if you load in bulk a lot.

    That's a really good idea for the cleaning patches... I shoot a bunch of AR15's and handguns so I have a ton of jugs filled with brass. I put my prepped brass in the 1lb jugs and dirty brass in the 8lb jugs but the lunch meat containers make a lot of sense also especially if you're always cycling through multiple batches of brass that way you're not buying a million ammo boxes to keep them all separated. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

    You can lay thoes big jugs on their side and cut one side out. With the cap on makes a good storage bin or drip pan. When I used to work as an auto mechanic we did that all the time with coolant jugs. Uses are endless.

    Great idea on the cleaning bucket. Looks better than a bottle. Now if you can come up with an idea for the Federal primer plastic, that would be great. There is no recyclable symbol on them.
    I can't believe you don't recycle in the NW. I live in the NE and it is MANDATORY. I take the label off the powder bottles. I don't want everyone who drives by my house on recycle day to know what I have. Better safe than sorry.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. We try to recycle as much as we can but honestly even the garbage companies say they aren’t even sure the recycling gets recycled. They site costs and labor issues and I’ve heard some or most of it gets landfilled anyway. It’s a messed up business model for sure with no clear solution out there yet.

      @@FClassJohn I'm really glad you responded with some personal insight. It's been 12 agonizing years trying to get VA to do something but all they really ever did was dope me up. I went through a serious depression and was heavily addicted to oxy, yet I somehow made it to the other side. I don't really want the surgery but I really don't have very many options left to explore. Knowing now that most surgeries have a low success rate, I'm relieved that I declined a couple years ago, but my condition has only declined further and I'm told I might be wheelchair bound in my later years. I truly hate the situation I am in and I detest the VA for failing me and thousands of other veterans in similar predicaments.
