Escaping the Tutorial Area? | Pikmin 3 Glitches

I went back and tried a couple more things to be clear on what worked and what didn't. I found one singular new thing, that unfortunately led nowhere. If you do NOT kill the Vehemoth Phosbat, but trigger the cutscene for the first appearance for the boss (by connecting the bulb with the yellows in the room where Charlie's day ends), and then you make your way back to that room, the cutscene for Charlie being eaten immediately plays.
Right afterwards, you go to Alph. However, Alph's day is bugged, where it's post-day 1 tropical wilds, with Brittany (even with Brittany, there's nothing special you can do. I tried. I even went back to the landing site). So it seems like triggering literally any cutscene out of order breaks the game, making you unable to progress.
Additionally, entering and leaving the exit of the starting cave for Alph's area crashes the game after a short dialogue, whether you skip the cutscene or not.
Unfortunately, seems like it's pretty hard to sequence break in regards to Day 1, because if you do, you're bricked. Really unfortunate, but the trick is hard to pull off in the first place, so maybe better to not destroy people's thumbs.

There's various things that weren't tested or not reported on in this video.
You CAN clip out of bounds with a snitchbug after getting multiple captains, so it may be possible to keep a glitched onion.
A cutscene occurs when you leave Brittany's cave for the first time. If you don't skip it, the game crashes when it pans over to see Alph, because he's not there.
Landing in Tropical Wilds and going into and back out of the first loading zone to the drake (first sunset after Alph's tutorial day) will crash the game.
The area in which red pikmin are initially found is replaced by a fruit and bulborbs, but interestingly the bridge pieces are still there.
Garden of Hope is unplayable without any pikmin. With, it's unknown if you could get access to rock pikmin.
First time using many options in Premiere, sorry if it's a bit scuffed in portions. Tried to speed up to save time.

Is there a way to out of bounds to where the red onion should spawn? Was wondering if that would correct the softlock
yes! but in-bounds actually. starting from the onion, you can throw two captains over the green bridge to that portion of tropical wilds, then throw a captain up to the path with the suit upgrade and that path takes you to where the red onion should be, however it is replaced by the fruit there with bulborbs. interestingly, the bridge pieces are still there too. that’s the only interesting bit and it took a while to explain in video, which is part of why i didn’t include it. unfortunately, no leads there. good idea though!
Some one uploaded a video called unused onion boot of them escaping the beginning of the area with charlie and seeing a unused onion boot up. I recommend watching it

If you can save the cut scene where Charlie gets consumed for when else rise, you can move on to the next day, day “2”
oh that’s true, that’s an interesting idea. i’m not sure what the implications might be for that, since if that cutscene hasn’t been activated, it might not break. the concern would be making your way over there, but you could probably do it since you have infinite time.
if it does work, it would be groundbreaking in the minimum day, minimum fruit and It’s definitely worth trying.
@@HunterIWolf unfortunately, i went in and tried this just now. Once you kill the Vehemoth phosbat, it puts the game in a state where it assumes you have the red onion, removes that cutscene, and bricks the game. It's pretty sad

yes, but there’s most likely some cutscene flags that were passed since we already activated the earlier cutscene of obtaining charlie.

If you do the 3rd boss then use the bridge skip on twilight river to get winged pikmin perhaps you could beat the 4th boss?
After that you could probably trigger the rock pikmin by going to the spot in the cave where they usually are & you could save Brittany after which could possibly give you 4 captains for the day then you go and kill the 1st and 5th boss quick enough you could then possibly beat the game?

First you have to enter formidable oak for the first time.Let Brittany go inside the oak [the cutscene].After she does,DO NOT GO WITH HER.Go back to the base and follow this video

Another side effect is how you can control both captains at the same time.When you go intona warp zone,you go to it twice tricking the game thinking you went in to it,making every asset invisible.Even the plasm wraith is invisible
