- Pikmin 2 HD can also be played on the switch just like Pikmin 1! But it also has some differences to it as well from the OG... some better than others. But that's why we got these clips here all taken from twitter with the people's reactions to what happen to them as well!
Hope you do all enjoy the true Pikmin 2 HD experience. Not as a crazy as Pikmin 1 but still a decent thing.
Please don't harass or make fun of anyone in this video. A lot of new people in here are their first time playing this game.

I think I will do these every once per week or so since I notice you all really do enjoy these sort of videos! The cave videos might slow down because of it but hey, I also enjoying these as well.
Might do them for Pikmin 3. But that game is already been out for the switch a few years already so might do them for Pikmin 4 demo instead and even when the game gets released!

Minecraft was like that for me. Not because the game was bad, it was great. I just keep dying in caves and losing all my gear in lava and the Nether 😅

Not only have I never seen the Waterwraith drop on the player during its first appearance before, but I have NEVER seen what happens at 3:00 happen before.
Yeh I thought the game world time is supposed to freeze during cutscenes lol.
In case you were curious, the player had their captain near the electric line when the treasure was grabbed, and Pikmin automatically join with the players squad if they are close enough, that was a case of the player just being in the wrong place at the wrong time
Long time Pikmin fan here, I’ve been playing the switch versions recently. I’ve done everything outside of Wistful Wild and I’ve had 4 notable glitches/goofy moments. I had Frontier Cavern spawn a Bulbear and Bulbmin on top of me, I had the Water Wraith get stuck in my only path back to the ship on sublevel 4 so I had to sacrifice some Bulbmin to get the treasure past him. I had a floating Cannon Beetle catch me by surprise because he was so high only yellows could reach him, and of course, the classic Snitchbug flying over the void with 20 Pikmin on him, instead of just falling back over or shaking them off. There’s a reason the game saves after every sublevel. I’ll update if anything else happens in Wistful Wild.
The last clip is clealry a troll. since they didn't get the cutscene, they already knew water is lethal to Pikmin
actually that is the only hazard that doesnt get a cutscene to warn you (all other hazards including water spraying enemies do get the cutscene, but regular ol water for some reason doesnt). that type of water also doesnt trigger the water hazard warning at the cave entrance (bulblax kingdom cave has water in the final floor, but no water spewing enemies and the hazard warnings dont say there is water inside when you want to enter it). but yeah still most likely a troll lol

I know people are playing these games for the first time, but dear God do I have a headache from some of these.
how did the person kill all of their red pikmin like that???? they either played 2 before 1 or they were trolling, that is the most obvious "uh... don't do that" move ever
If you're ever going somewhere you don't know anything about with 100 Pikmin, you're playing it wrong.
Pikmin 2 is fair 95% of the time. You've just gotta be strategic, considering it's, well... a strategy game.

I love how the majority of these clips aren't even glitches. Just bad luck, bad Pikmin AI, people learning basic mechanics, or new players experiencing the "wonders" of Pikmin 2 for the first time. This is how it felt to play this game for the first time, I fell into most of the traps shown in the video.

@@LuckyOwI777 I never assumed they were all glitches, I just found it funny that most of the clips where just "normal" Pikmin 2 things, things people who have played the game for a while are used to, but new players get surprised by.
That water wraith boss shouldn't be able to spawn right on top of you right??? I don't remember that happening back on the GameCube.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing while watching this; a lot of these are frustrating because a few more hours of experience or just a couple facts of precursor knowledge to some of these things would make the difference (like the rolling bulborb, just throw them on his head when he's stopped rolling, then recall them and fall back while he's rolling and you'll never lose any pikmin)

Basically what I said is that it always could, you just had to be REALLY, but REALLY unlucky (or put yourself below its shadow intentionally). So there's this big Pikmin TH-camr called Heff, who made a short, called "the infamous Waterwraith clip".
Where the THING suddenly falls on top of all his Pikmin, crushing most of them to death.
From what I've seen myself the Waterwraith tends to spawn in square-shaped sections of rooms or halls, so I normally never position myself in places where it can spawn, just in case that happened.
so glad so many people that are new to the franchise are witnessing the chaos that is pikmin 2

seeing people who didn’t know the empress crushed pikmin, were generally inexperienced with some of the game’s enemies or had bad rng made me go “oh, you sweet summer child.”
then olimar casually gets dropped into the void and fades in and out of reality
Really thought that Chuggaa had burned the Empress Strategy into enough people's minds back then to not have this happen
I thought people would know if a boss looks very big, they can def crush shit. Also if a boss throws a tantrum, you don’t fight it, you wait for it to stop. But hey, these clips are hilarious to watch as we’ve all been there

I missed this game so much and I'm so glad new players get to experience the horrors of the Frontier Cavern and the Submerged Castle blind
Frontier cavern isn't that bad for me but submerged castle...that cave is freaking scary because of the infamous waterwraith
tbh frontier cavern wasn't too bad, i knew to punch the shit out of the bulborb larvae beforehand. The worst it got was stressful trying to micromanage both Olimar with the Pikmin and Louie punching the larvae. Subterranean complex on the other hand can go to hell.

Never trust a treasure in a deadend, especially in later dungeons. Assume it's loaded, and take one white with you, as some traps don't spring unless you have pikmin with you.
Defuse a floor before you sweep it
I also got the weird physics when throwing Pikmin sometimes, wonder what causes it. The one where they just fly forward until they hit a wall.
Same I was throwing Pikmin at the 5 pellet behind the ship in valley of repose when it happened

I felt like I didn’t understand most of these bomb rock fails, but then I realized probably not everyone babysits their pikmin at the mere sight of bomb rocks like I do 😂
Or the SOUND of it. I'm more astonished no one in those clips HEARD the bomb fall and immediately do a once-over of their immediate surroundings

to be fair, that was on the player for not hearing the bomb or seeing it in the corner. you could see the bomb if you look now.
I love how these kinds of clips are more common now that Pikmin 2 is on a console with clips and clip sharing. I still love this game to death but man it can be incredibly unfair to the player in the funniest of ways sometimes. Also seeing new players trying to learn this game is comedy gold
I do not remember ever spawning and there's bulborbs immediately running you down from 3 directions at 2:30... It definitely seems that some code isn't working right.
@@lkjkhfggd The dungeons are all randomly generated, so it's (unfortunately) entirely possible that you get a layout where there are a lot of enemies that spawn immediately around the entry point to the dungeon sublevel. My first time through the submerged castle, I got basically nightmare rolls of all 4 sublevels leading up to the boss; I reset and tried again and only lost 2 pikmin the entire way down, and never hit the 5 minute mark for the water wraith to spawn.
@@tetrahedron_in_space That's pretty wild. I would have thought there was code in place to always ensure that the player spawns in a safe spot.

3:55 pretty sure some bomb traps only activate if a pikmin is under them carrying something. They're the most evil shits, and they love putting those traps right above a diggable object. Always gotta babysit in Pikmin 2 lol.
Even funnier is that since the dungeons are randomized to a certain extent, sometimes it just results in far more trolling than normal. Sometimes you just get unlucky with where they end up spawning.
I have to agree at 5:34 , especially in caves where stuff can appear even after you think you've clear the floor for traps only for them to activate like 10 minutes later (Wogpole are scaring the hell out of me in Shower room at the moment)
Its fucked that they have traps that go of normally and some that trigger when pikmin are carrying stuff so that you cant 100% clear them. Thankfully thats mostly in the Wistful Wild Dungeons so its only in the lategame lol.

2:55 this glitch is incredibly brutal if you arent careful. i lost like 6 white pikmin in the shower room cause they walked into water during the treasure cutscene. edit: actually this isnt the glitch im thinking of. occasionally instead of going to a nearby captain after collecting treasure, pikmin will run in the direction of where the treasure spawned in. edit 2: yeah there it is at 7:28
I understand that most of these mishaps were due to glitches or ppl just being new, but by God it hurt to watch anything w the Empress Bulblax

Getting the 100 pins in wii sports
The pikmin soaring through the air is a new glitch for these ports, right? I've played a decent amount of Pikmin and I've never seen that on GCN or Wii. Yet it's in the ports of both games.
New in official releases; the old gamecube disc of 1 also had a weird windows executable version of the game, where this could be encountered by messing with a certain variable. Something got messed up with the port for sure

There is a lot of timing and guidance involved in avoiding these things. Sometimes you may have no choice but to quickly swarm small enemies real quick. Get into the habit of calling pikmin back before they shake off and all shooter type enemies will always got straight for bit apart from a certain boss that isn’t too hard to avoid.
Huh. I thought the glitch at 2:10 where panicking pikmin are immune to explosions got fixed. Cool.

some things are just ??? like people trying to attack empress, some things are just unfair like waterwraith spawning ontop of them, the second part is the whole reason that i wait in floor 1 after doin everything there for his first spawn so the cutsceene dont make him spawn unprepared ontop of me

@@TheActionTourist well, lets say you fully completed the first floor, then you take all your pikmins and hug the wall next to the cave entrance, then you just wait the timer of him spawning, because only his very first spawn makes the cutsceene play, the other times you just hear him falling wich by that gives you enouoght time to react to get out of there if you see him falling close to you unlike the cutsceene wich freezes you and fully spawns in the enemy, and he cant reach you at the wall edge with the cave
I think the werid physics are caused by a fix, I heard that apparently there was a bug in the og releases where pikmin would sometimes get stuck under and randomly die on bridges, and by fixing it I guess they made more problems... oops

never never EVER trust eggs, behind walls in caves in pikmin 2. in fact....dont trust caves PERIOD! do what i do. scout every single crevice of each and every floor with a captain on hes own FIRST to activate ALL traps, and when you take down walls, call your pikmin back, open the egg with one captain, have the other captain keep the pikmin at the ready

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I 100% completed both 1 and 2 on switch and didn't encounter a single bug or glitch.
