First of all, your hair and make up is lovely!! Your living room is so inviting and warm with various textures. Don't stress about painting your french doors. You have four small sons. Enjoy these years with them and your husband. There will be plenty of time to paint them when they are older. I am a grandma now and cherish the years when our children were all at home. You can never get this time back.
Driftwood from a local beach would be cool on that wall. Your boys could each find a piece and scratch their initials in it.
I like that you have some natural wood, all white is so cliché. White, wood, and wicker is so pretty. I call it the www’s and greenery makes it perfect.
Also ..I really like the chairs pulled in..the seating area with the couch and chairs do look a little smaller..but very cozy..great for conversations..but at the same time you have room for decor behind it..bonus!
I would replace the gold lamp with something more farmhouse or country and yes more lamps. It makes it more cozy
Maybe a mirror on that wall would be nice to reflect the light from the other side of the room.

I can't live without art! You cannot go wrong with something you love. I wouldn't worry about your french door color! They look just fine! I just moved and have really changed things up as far as art placement and buying some new things. I have had so many compliments. Just go with your gut!
I would leave the french doors as is... I like that they contrast with the trim. On that sofa wall , I could see a mirror, round to soften that space. Or I could see 4 black and white square framed photos of your boys . Very neutral in raw wood frames.
I think the French doors are beautiful the way they are.

Add an antique mirror over on the bare wall in the living room.
We recently had some painting in our rooms done, which allowed me to re-decorate my rooms. So exciting!! It really caused me to re-think everything I have. The biggest tip I can share is to switch out items from one room to another. It's amazing to see furniture or accessories in a new room. It gives them a new life and it is budget friendly!!

Andrea so beautiful. Everything looks curated, elegantly simple, functional. Might I modestly suggest on your little wall that you are stumped over....a trio of empty vintage different size & style frames stacked on top of one another (amost a sculpture) to the left and two medium sized framed with museum mats black and white pictures of your little ones stacked one above the other on the right. Again lovely.
Just an fyi- Sara from she holds dearly has a great hack for painting French doors. I wish I would of seen her video before I tackled mine.. 😊
We are in the same home we built more than 25 years ago before and during when my babies were born. They are all grown and now I have a new granddaughter! Although we’ve considered downsizing, or moving to my husbands family home (we own that now too), with the housing market we’ve decided to stay and update and make more functional at this juncture in life. It’s funny how the things that were so important when raising my children have changed and evolved. I made the decision to add shiplap in my foyer. It I am loving the board and batten! Thanks for the inspiration!

On the wall you were talking about to the right of the sofa, what about a large woven basket, or a straw wide brimmed hat? I feel like something round and textural there would look really good.
How about small recessed lights? You could put them on a dimmer. I know it may be more expensive so just and idea.

I would like to see your booth at the antique store. Have you ever shown it? I think a nice framed print would look very nice over the sofa...something more substantial than what's there now. You can move that piece to another area. Love the slipcover choice.

Andrea, I really love the room and furniture placing this way. I would worry though when the children went in the back room, you know the first place their hands, body is going to skim those white covers as there's not much room to go around the chairs. Even though the covers are washable they will water out fast. Other than that thought...I love the room! Your whole house is gorgeous!!!!
Very pretty. A portrait light over the pictures will add light. Get the plug kind my experience with the battery operated hasn’t been good. Waste of money. I could see a crystal candler working good in your room to replace the ceiling fan.
Great video thanks. I would keep the fan and paint the wooden part either black or soft white.

But when it comes to painting your French doors. Don’t even worry. You don’t even have to try to be neat. Don’t even use tape. Doors are sooo easy. Once your done just use a razor blade to clean off the glass. And boom 💥 you have perfect lines!!!!!
hmmm, how about a wrought (black) iron chandelier with the lights that look like candles? And, of course, you would want a dimmer switch ... living room looks fresh, inviting & beautiful.
More art work would look nice or a gallery wall with family pictures. Everything looks really nice.
Beautifully done my dear! On the one wall, continue the double art, picture above a picture, as you did on the opposite wall behind the chair above your baskets. Would tie together your style, and add a much more cohesive, collected look. My opinion..🥰 Very charming decor! By the way, I would leave your french doors white. So crisp and clean. Love!!
Seeing the ceiling fan with the black accent and the fireplace black wall sconces in the back really pops.. idk I like what you’ve done. Maybe put a medium sized chandelier that compliments the other black pieces in the corner, with a narrow side hutch? I love the chair slip covers and just the ease of the whole space. Well done YOU! :)

Also, I love the chairs, but I was wondering how one chair might look in that same corner with a chandelier.. putting ceiling lighting in would help with a lot of the darkness.. I will def be looking up those slip covers!!! I love the board and batten wall.. I think the artwork above that needs to be something to the same scale and reflective of the colors used in the room with a pop of sage or something you love. Lastly, Sarah from She Holds Dearly has a blog about a product she used on her French doors that made it so much quicker to paint. I will try to find it and then post.

Laziness?! You are not lazy dear..NO WAY. It is a difficult job taping off all those panes and I would be reluctant too. I love that your personality shines through in your home. Every piece is well considered and well done. The chair covers are great. I am a HUGE lover of color but your home is one of the few I would feel perfectly at home in with a more neutral color scheme. So many choose neutral but miss the cozy and comfy mark but yours doesn’t. Maybe I am biased where you are concerned because I think you are great.😉 I never get tired of seeing your lovely updates.✨❤️✨I think maybe that wall needs an architectural piece maybe? Not an arch but maybe round to add texture and a different shape added to the rectangle of the Francavilla sign. A different light fixture changes the feel of a room and I love the idea of a feminine light. So soft and pretty.😊

Love it!!!! How about moving the small brass lamp behind the 2chairs and bringing back the former lamp beside your couch . Maybe just leave that wall blank that is stumping you . I am sooo bad to think I have to put something on every wall , but sometimes a small blank wall let’s the eye rest and keeps an uncluttered look …. Blessings !!
I'm so thrilled you talked about the slipcovers. Our Ikea couches need new slipcovers, but they have discontinued them. I'll be checking this company out.

There's a gal in Michigan that has many original art pieces, and she is very artistic, you might know her, i believe her first name is Andrea. It needs to be bigger than some she has done. And then she can be on the hunt for a neat vintage frame for it!

The new slip covers match beautiful, and they do like they fit better than the original ones 😂.
I could definitely see a picture light over the prints in the corner. Maybe the gold ones from Amazon ( they have plug- ins and hard wire ones.
I think a single picture on the other wall by the entry way (floor lamp area). If you dont need the fan light, they have beautiful lights that would match your decor (natural wood and metals).
I know you will choose what you love, and it will be beautiful.

It looks beautiful so Amazon and I believe they have rechargeable light bulbs so u can make lamps cordless not sure how great they work but u might want check in to them

What about a really cool BIG old clock? One with a pendulum that hangs in the wall?

I see quite a few of them on Facebook Marketplace. You definitely aren’t lazy. While the French doors would look great painted the same color as the trim, they also look beautiful just as they are. I have the Cindy Crawford furniture from Rooms To Go, that looks a lot like the IKEA furniture. I made covers for them from drop cloth fabric, several years ago after watching Lisa from Farmhouse on Boone make her covers. I was so happy with the way they turned out! I love your new covers, they look so soft!

I took Rub n Buff and did the metal on my ceiling fan in our bedrooms a gold leaf, then painted the blades white. It made is disappear into the ceiling, and looks much prettier, and is a cheap fix till you decide what you want. It looks very fresh and cozy in your beautiful living room, Andrea!! Yes, one more big breadboard! 😉☺️

I couldn’t give up my ceiling fan in the living room. Mine is a classic style fan with a schoolhouse style light that goes well in my home. Many people would consider it “dated” but my home was built in 1919 so to me it is the perfect style for the house.
Love the new layout, and the new slipcovers, and the new coffee table, it all says cozy cottage to me! You have a great eye Andrea, I hope you never stop sharing your home decor progress with us! Very cozy living room. For your ceiling fan, I like it and wouldn't change it. All I would do is paint the blades so that they blend in with the other colors in the room

It all looks so beautiful and fresh I love it. 🥰 You mentioned the wall that you’re struggling with, what about an old distressed French louvered or panelled shutter? I live in a 17th century stone cottage in France and have a couple on the walls in my lounge and they look so good and complement the art work on the other walls plus make a great contrast. 😊
Love the changes and mood your living room has. I recently changed up our wall decor from the wall plaques to artwork that I thrifted. I had a thought about your empty wall - maybe a framed inspirational piece - scripture or quote?
