😀 As an Amateur Radio operator (ZL1SJC) we built our own PSU's, thus we *must know* the AU/NZ single phase wiring code! I have a 240v power drill, and one day it didn't work, so I opened it up and found the neutral (blue) wire came off, so I put it back on and put it back together, and it still goes today. I brought it about 15 years ago from Bunnings (Auckland) for about $20! 😀 I found this video "how to fix a power tool" very interesting, different though!

For intermittent cable test, best is to use alligator clip's with Fluke multimeter with continuity buzzer which is best in industry.
😀I noticed even with non-fluke meters, one can buy probes with clips as most meters to the sockets are basically the same (interchangeable)!
