Such an underrated channel, The camera work is superb, the music sublime, top notch narration and faultless editing.

Don’t freeze, what would Freedom do?. And the puppies. Carol and I are heading your way from Houston to visit our brother. You have so inspired both of us. We are preparing to take Trawles school and purchase a 31 Tug, probably Ranger but I have a close eye on a Nordic. Do you guys have a preference. I am thinking semi displacement hull. Shawn is soo lucky to have you. You are quieter happy with Shawn and it shows. What is your end game? How long will you cruise the North west . I hope always Richard and carol

Wonderful videography! I/We have been up to Princess Louisa & Chatterbox falls in the summer and it is gorgeous. I couldn't get over the calm seas and lack of rain you experienced in winter and to be that alone on glass-like water in that beautiful weather was really special. I had to laugh, however, over the fear of cougars and bears. You really didn't have to worry. Just carry a big stick and a loud whistle for reassurance. If cougars had been around they are more scared of you than you them. Personally, I consider seeing a bear a highlight, and I would absolutely LOVE to see a cougar in the wild! Thanks for the great video!

I spent some time in the late sixties, as a volunteer for young life, at Club Malibu. Working for a month in the summer and a week at Easter. I even took groups of high school seniors hiking through the mountains completely circling the inlet one summer. Your visit brought back some very fond memories.
Thank you for sharing this with me.

We visited there twice over the years with our children and relatives aboard our yacht "Tonya Lynn". It truly is our favorite cruising destination and shouldn't be missed as it is magical! It's well worth your time to visit as access is limited to boats and seaplanes. However, being a fresh water inlet, it is subject to freezing over in winter, and summers can be crowded... ❤

Thank you for sharing. The inlet is as beautiful as I remember. I was a camper at the Malibu Young Life camp in 1970 for a week. An amazing experience remembered. You were so lucky to have the place to yourself this winter.

What a great place. Very different in the winter. In the summer when we visited, the camp was full of kids and activity. The float at the falls was almost full of boats, and Chatterbox Falls itself was spilling water at a much greater rate. You were very fortunate to have such a magnificent place all to yourselves.

  • @Colinpark

If you plan on more remote cruising, whistles, bear bangers and bearspary are a good idea. Also by the water, don't expect bears to hibernate as they often will not if there is enough food to stay awake. We went up to a remote inlet and came around the corner to check out a old log dump and there was a young Grizzly that had gone out about 200m on the boomsticks. He was as surprised to see us as we were of him.

From our summer house near the mouth of Jervis, as young teenagers, we used to go up there all the time in small 10-12’ boats! At that time there were still some leftover abandon cabins and orchards, and we found old letters in probably Scandinavian from about the 1930's or 40’s it seemed, plus some handmade cross country skis. One trip, some of our cousins and friends were adjusting the outboard’s carburettor at the head of Jervis only have a spring pop out and go deep down into the inlet. They made it to a logging camp where they radioed down to us to come and rescue them. In the meantime, they were treated to a ride on the logging roads up the mountain side. The next day, my cousin and I headed up with a spare outboard in the boat, put on the extra engine and all returned home. Amazing up there! And lots of stories from the area!

Our most favorite place to go on the west coast from Seattle to Sitka. Nothing in the world like it………Not sure if someone commented or not but the sat dish at the head of the inlet is for the ranger that stays at the Ranger’s Station during the summer months. Also, there are some trails that no one knows about 1/2 way down the inlet on the north side. Very well maintained and a great workout the higher you go. They are mountain bike trails with 5 heli-pads as you go up the trails. Also, towards the head of the inlet there are natural water slides (better enjoyed during the summer). Thanks for sharing

There are vets/jackets for dogs that have what look like decoration, but the are predators spikes. There are dangers on the ground and from the air - eagles. I don't think they make those jackets large enough for Shawn, but maybe should each have a can of bear spray - works on cougars too. For cougars - wear your baseball cap backwards with sunglasses facing backwards. 😎 confuse the cougars! Lol

I have to say very pretty, the Canuucks got some pretty real estate there. As a avid north Idaho outdoorsman, you kids have nothing to worry about as far as a bear, they are sleepy time till March. Sean is going to scare your cougars off. They might go for a short woman or a small child. If you guys want to come to Sand Point sometime, I'll take you Snipe hunting :)

Thank you for this video! We were there in early September, on our 24' homebuilt cabin cruiser, a Tolman Jumbo 24. We docked on the inside, same end of the dock. When we got in, there was a nice 40' Nordhaven where you docked. Their Star Link was set up on the upper deck. Ours was still stowed inside our boat. Next trip, we'll actually use it. Oh, and there was a heatwave when we were there. So very hot that we all went into that water, glacier-cold water, then hosed off with the "surface water" on the dock. Very refreshing.

We've been cruising the south coast of British Columbia for the last 5 summers and Princess Louisa is definitely one of our favorites. We were there last August and picked up a mooring ball at MacDonald Island as the dock at Chatterbox was very busy. The camp dock across from the mooring field is an out station for the main bible camp. They stage the older campers from there for their multiday wildness hikes. The tour of the main camp and a visit to the ice cream parlor is a must do in the summer months. I must say that seeing the peace and solitude of the area in the off season has made us reconsider the timing of our next visit! Thank you for the awesome video.
