I ordered my scooter today, saw someone riding one around the town and thought it was a great idea, I don't really have room for a bike, nor do I wish to haul it up and down 4 flights of stairs, plus this way I can hop on a bus if need be, had considered a folding bike, a unicycle (yes I can ride one) and skates but this seems the best all-round idea practically, I like skating but it's not easy to hop in and out of skates and bikes/unicycles are a bit more cumbersome if I needed to get a bus.
Hi Sandy, I too am a scooter rider. Faster than walking, foldable and can go in places where a bike cannot, to me it is the ultimate form of convenience travel in a normal walking environment. You will save a fortune in time, taxis and trying to find a parking spot. One thing though - do not use in wet weather. The polyurethane wheels do not hold the ground well in the wet and the the brakes (metal fender on plastic wheel) pretty much become non existent. Your amazing love of life is infectious. Keep going for it!
hi can you help me either of you need a scooter that will work on flat mowed grass that can be used in a garden ,what sort of wheels should i be looking for any suggestions.seen so many bad reviews of scooters .also want something that is not to heavy
Hi Simone, Scooters riding really works best on tarmac and concrete. If you have to ride on grass I would check out a Swifty Scooter. They have pneumatic tyres so you can ride on grass, beautifully made but might be a bit pricey. Make sure you check out the ones which are foldable for carrying because some of them do not fold away. Hope that helps.

Hi Simone, just checked out the xiaomi m365 - electric I see. Very nice and definitely the next wave in low spec personal travel. Unfortunately UK law at this point prohibits the riding of any electric powered scooters on the streets. Sad but true. However I have seen one or two people riding them around where I live and not get stopped. It really depends if you think you are unlikely to be challenged then it is a possible option to consider. Hope that helps

When I was still in Paris, I was going everywhere with my scooter, so much fun! But... I’ve been starting having high blood pressure because I was not walking anymore (according to the doctor). When we walk, the blood circulates better in the body. So I would recommend continuing walking as much as possible and using the scooter for maybe a little longer distances. High blood pressure is not fun at all, and sometimes, we don’t even realize we have that problem. Now, I am walking like crazy in L.A., which is really crazy because the distances are so big! I could use my scooter but I don’t to keep my pressure at the best. But it’s true that using a scooter is really very fun.

Honestly a bit of an extreme opinion but if everyone had bikes and scooter and used busses, boats and trains, the world would be a better place, emissions would plummet, we’d stop needing oil, kids wouldn’t get hit by drunk drivers and car parks would just be parks

Great video. ❤ I don’t live in London but when I visit I like a way to get around and used to hire the mobike bicycles to commute in London as the service also existed in Newcastle where I live. They sadly don’t operate in Newcastle anymore so my last visit to London was mainly walking and getting the bus and tube but this costs and doesn’t give u the freedom I had on a bike. I have considered a Brompton bike but the price is very expensive and maybe hard to justify though I’m sure it’s a great bike but then i realised a scooter is probably even better for my needs as it’s compact folds small lightweight and is ideal to get around a city like London or my home city. I chose a razor scooter with air tyres as I like the smooth ride it gives me across all surfaces. My next visit to London will be with my scooter as I can explore the city take it on public transport if I need to and travel at twice the speed of walking whereby I will cover 50% more of London in my short stay which makes scooting the future for my needs and I’m sure many others who need a simple green economical way to commute. I think a fold scooter is best for me as i dont have room to keep a bike and the distance to school is not that far about a 30 minute walk which would be a lot quicker on a scooter
I am a 66 year old retired old geezer, and blew up my right knee about 4 years ago. I read a message on a scooter forum from a tent about my age with knee problems. He took up kick scootering, and found that he could do it, and it is good exercise for him.I am also a prostate cancer survivor (so far at least), and do a pretty good 45 minute workout with barbells and a smallbench. I just ordered myself a folding kick scooter, and am hoping I will be able to ride it for fun and excercise. I could stand to lose some weight, and maybe this will help. I live on the big island of Hawaii near Hilo, and there are some beautiful places to ride along the beaches here. Thanks for the video.

Sandy, Hackney Wick is where I was moored up in my narrowboat earlier this year. Around the marshes there and near Stratford is one of my favourite places in East London to Moor up. A bit north is the river Lea. Lots of great mooring places there.

Razor are better, this one has a high and creaky deck, it’s parts look suspiciously similar to 6Degrees/Globber!
