Here representing odd fam. It’s the fact that I relate do well with the boarding school era and being here in the United States as an immigrant. I’m here for the growth of this podcast. HERE WE GO!!!
Hey Sophie I am usually a silent subscriber of your channels but I have to say this podcast and hearing your story has inspired me so much and made me feel like I can really do something great with my life. I am a 21 yr old from Ghana. I came to the US at 9 and I just graduated with my bs in public health. I’ve been feeling so scared and lost with my life and future and I just keep asking what do I want. I still don’t know the answer to that. I hope you keep it up with this podcast because your story is going to heal a lot of souls and inspire many out there. I just want to say THANK YOU!!!!
I’m sorry about the things you went through during your university days in Nigeria. I pray that you find a beautiful love that is very kind and that you continue to heal from the trauma that it may have caused. Also, you are doing great and your story is beautiful like you 😊. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Your video randomly showed up on my YT feed and I absolutely enjoyed watching and listening to you! I know you glossed over some of the struggles but as an immigrant myself, I can relate to some of the struggles. I’m so glad you’re living your best life now. I pray you continue to experience miracles and may your dreams be fulfilled!
Adding crying to the list of things you do as a human, we will cry with you. Thank you for sharing your life experiences and journey with us. Thank you for your authenticity, love you too. Xoxo
Woooooowwww girl i needed to hear your story being an international student is so stressful am almost done with school here in U.S. and am still figuring out what am going to do to stay here legally praying to get a job soon ❤️
12:03 damn the throwback is crazzy😂, this is why documentation is important damn you've been through so much, i actually shed tears yh that jeans video is sooo funny😂😂, "as a spec that i am" 😂 Your story is really touching and inspiring. thanks for sharing💯
Such a heartfelt story. This is YOUR podcast, you BLOCK! i.e 🚫Stop making excuses for speaking freely etc. etc. We love you. You make sense because we are your kinfolk. xoxo❤❤❤🎉
I remember finding you on twitter and followed because of the way your laugther is so pure, and since then i've sticked around with every of your content on all social media pages especially on youtube. I remember crying with you when you cried sharing how stressed out you were, and the funniest thing is that I was also stressed out. It felt like i was there with you. I'm so so happy of where you've gotten to now. Your successs always makes me happy @TheOdditty
Sofi. Your expression in your thumbnail speaks volumes. Was wondering about the cold as we get further into winter. Mother’s certainly have different relationships with sons and daughters. So sorry you went through these 2 situations. A professor called you the N word? Omg. 😳🥺. Virginia to Louisiana? Scholarship and RA. Wonderful. You’ve always been a fighter. Grad assistant. Masters 🙌🏼. Omg. This 1st vid in the jeans is adorable, precious and hilarious. Many layers to you indeed. Thanks for sharing such intimate and private details. See you next Wednesday ❤
This is a fun podcast. Thank you for being unfiltered and honest. I am currently in university and it is a predominantly white college. I am not an immigrant, but I am a black woman. Your older vlogs give me a special comfort and I’m excited for this podcast! Thank you Sofi 💜
You are such an inspiration Sofi! You’ve been through so much and what you’ve never done is give up or back down. As a new immigrant starting all over again, you’ve been an inspiration for me “If Sofi can pull this off, I can”. Proud of you and your journey. Wish you all the best!
Thank you for sharing your story. This video gave me hope. I had a tough day because I wasn’t happy with the position I was in, but you just lifted my spirit. Thank you!
It is how I can relate with your boarding school experience to an extent. It is really interesting how your boarding school experience helped you secure scholarships. I love this pod so much❤
The level of anger I was feeling when you told the assault stories, especially with the professor! I left Naija after I finished primary school so I never experienced the boarding school life, but the stories I hear from people about it. The impunity! Aspects of our society are rotten to the core! As a brother, I'm with your brother. If it were one of my sisters, people are getting dealt with, f*** the consequences.
I wish she mentioned his full government name(he’s a big fool). I thought the same thing too… can’t imagine what my Brother would’ve done cause it’s the same sibling dynamic here “2 children”. I am pissed.
This was honestly so beautifully well said👏🏾 sending you lots of strength and encouragement as you’re on this new endeavor, I can’t wait to see all the things going forward 🤎 thank you for sharing your story my girl ✨
I remember watching you for the first time on TH-cam in 2018. You were doing your postgrad. Your growth since then has been massive, and you inspire me to know that I can achieve so much. Love you Sofi😍
I enjoyed every bit of this… you gats have some courage to be able to say stuffs like this on camera I applaud you for that👏🏼… I relate a bit to your story and it’s so sweet to see someone come out and speak about things no one will talk about
Truthfully you are just amazing all round.never saw the discussion coming but trust me it was really helpful i don't know about anyone else but it was a wonderful video for me . I also experience some of the things you mentioned but coming from a country like ours were fear is been built into us more than self confidence we just have to leave with our pains. I know you don't know me but i will always root for you and I pray one day you eventually have it all figured out. Love always from one of your fans in Ibadan Nigeria ❤
Wow, I’m so sorry for all you went through and I’m proud of the outcome. I’m so glad you aren’t bitter towards your mom at any point. I’m so proud of you, I’m in a similar situation and I can’t help but to be bitter towards my dad. I hope I find my way out and tell my story someday❤❤
Great first episode!! I sat through the whole thing, even though I’ve been a follower for a while (so already know a lot of the stories here) but it was still entertaining. Congratulations Sofi🎉
Thank you for sharing sofi! I know it was not easy. I felt like I could relate to you in some aspects. Just know that you are a strong and wonderful person inside and out and you are inspiring others out there including me.

I came across your video over a year or 2 ago. I can't remember. I am African, too, and there is something about your personality that resonates so much with mine.
