I love Victoria's aura! She is outspoken, opinionated, eloquent, and has a mind of her own. I really do hope she surrounds herself with people who will not try to silence her.
She already seems very mature. Her father should listen and take this as a wakeup call. She will not talk to him once she's an adult if he keeps this up. Edit: if I said to my dad 10% of what she told him he would not sleep the next night and ask himself what he could change, what his mistakes were. That he can just be like "I'm her dad, she will always love me", no my dude, it should be the other way around. Do you tell her you love her every day? At least once a week? If your kid sees your presence in her live as just a burden you have failed as a father. I'm a very lacking person, I'm mid 20s and whenever I call my father he asks me "are you happy? That's the most important thing". And that's why my father is still my superhero. 2. Edit holy, he just admitted to his daughter her mom was just a replica? 😢 And he named her after his ex he couldn't marry? Throw the whole man in the trash. I hold she heals and can get some good therapy and I hope her mom leaves him and frees her of his presence in his live. He doesn't deserve to call himself father. Even when she calmly and reasonably expresses her wishes and reaches out and asks "how can we fix this?" He just dismisses her. She deserves so much better. 3. Edit: why would you blame the other woman girl? Your father would be the cheater. Don't blame the other woman. If my father cheated he would know the consequences. He knows.
It is definitely her business. It's crazy that she said "it wasn't bad." I would be distraught if my husband named my daughter after the women she loved. This proof that he was STILL in love with that girl even though he was already married & had a new born. Because he couldn't have her, he named his daughter after her so that her existence is somehow present in the house.

And as a father you should respect your kids enough to listen to them and find solutions together, especially when the kids are already as old and beautifully mature as she is. My parents did tell me no, but they explained and discussed and found compromises and so I never resented it.
Lastly Victoria's Dad, I understand you and how hard it is but beyond money and giving your children the best, please listen, please be present, please create an environment where your children can feel safe with you

Feel pressured I mean I never want to be in a position where they need something and I am not able to meet up." I equally enjoyed the understanding Victoria and her Dad came to have at the end of the show. Their hug warmed my heart.
@@gerhardchang5315 I had a very present father in my life, he was and still is the best man I have ever met. Telling ur child that u want to marry someone else because u want male children sounds very annoying, because he can still give birth to girls. There is something he also said I married ur mum just because I wanted to get married, this particular info is not necessary. I was raised by very intentional parents especially my father, he was present and he respected and adored my mum.
Oh my gosh watching this brought tear in my eyes because I didn’t experience any fatherly love growing up even till date, Wished my dad was present in my life 😢
I guess the African nature in the brought about that, some of us had some sort of love expression but it was so mechanical, they never seem to express the love physically even though they love us. We have learned thru this platform to do better with our own children.
I only wondered what this conversation would be like between me and my dad😢😢😢😢, so many hurt, so many areas that need closure.. This is a very personal episode, big ups

Mr. Paul saying that the mother of his children is a replica/replacement is so terrifyingly wrong! I feel so bad for the woman. Also, I don't think it was necessary to tell Victoria that now, maybe when she is a bit older. I can't even imagine what she thinks of her parents' relationship now. African parents and building childhood trauma, 5&6.
this tale on expectation folks tell isn’t the flex they think it is, listen to your kids! this is an excerpt from a piece i wrote about my childhood: ‘I wasn’t even allowed to be a kid, to grow at a pace every normal kid did. I did tons of adult stuffs. I couldn’t make mistakes. There was no room for emotions too. All of these because “I don’t want my kids to go through life the way I did”. And as motivating as that sounds, it was the most suffocating and trapping thing ever. For me. As a child.’
I love every scene and expressions from everyone in this video. I can relate with the situations of Maryam but a big Kudos to Victoria's Mum because the praises from her husband about how she is able to manage the home because her husband couldn't provide at the moment. May God bless her and i hope every woman here emulate her even despite not know her. I can relate with most stories and expression told here. I look forward to having such conversations with my sons and daugthers in the future. Thank you Cruise!
Victoria dear. If you see this, just keep working on your emotional intelligence… I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the analogy of labeling his behaviors. My dad vs the nagging. And you are also deeply wise enough to acknowledge your part in triggering him as well. Cos despite it all, he’s a human too living through his own human experience.. this will make you more aware and intuitive and also more present… Keep arming yourself with knowledge and understanding… God’s got you girl!❤ 💪🏽
Hugs to Victoria, carrying the burden of doing the right to earn the love and attention of a parent can be huge. I pray they get support through that. She is such an amazing little girl, may her confidence not wane.
Her impulsive need to leave the room when he walks in is sooo relatable to me. It’s a side effect of rigid parenting by someone with a closed-minded view of raising kids. Honestly, I don't think "blood is thicker than water". Strong relationships matter more, whether they're built on fear and power dynamics, conformity to tradition, or genuine respect and love for each other.
This episode is quite emotional. When Victoria and her dad hugged, I shed a tear. Here's a message to all the men out here reading this, I just y'all to know that life with you isn't easy at all especially companionship, family and all that sort. But despite the toughness and difficulty we all go through during the course of our relationship, I want y'all to know that Home is with you and no one else.❤❤
beating isn’t equal to protection, it’s not even synonymous; it’s a violation of trust and safety, and this is why kids grow up to walk on eggshells around their folks. true protection comes from love, understanding, and open communication, not fear and pain. idk why african parents believe they have to cause pain and fear in their kids before they can believe that they’ve been able to pass their message across. im a 24 year old adult that’s clinically diagnosed with gad, and the bulk of the symptoms my gad display is me constantly being anxious and feeling unsafe. even when im emotionally and physically assured, my typical day is me going about my day with fear that something or someone is trying to hurt to me. my father was so hot tempered growing, and beating was the only way he knew how to create an outlet for such emotion.
So sorry about your experience, It was because of how they were brought up themselves. Good thing is that our generation is trying to be better our parents
@@yomide_naturals better can mean a lot of things. I myself being beaten like a slave to carry the family can attest to the fact, that young children being built to absorb the trauma of years and years of broken people, being expected to heal their African parents after facing horrific abuse from them is insane. The resentment and pain always goes somewhere. So it’s better placed with the people who put it on you. And after letting them go.
I’m glad these daughters got to have this conversation with their fathers. I appreciate the honesty all around and hopefully they heal the parts of contention.
I have never cried for any podcast or show, this made me cry even at work. God bless all the fathers. This will bring me closer to my daughter even with the crazy distance.😢😢😢

This was heartwarming. There's nothing like the love and relationship between father and daughter. ❤❤❤ Well done to the fathers who have fathered well! 🎉🎉🎉 Including my own. ❤ We love you our dads! So much!
Victoria is so wise, sounds like she has been forced to grow up fast. Her father is difficult. Refuses to listen and expects her mother to do everything. Victoria has also figured out ways to communicate with her parents in the safest way without getting hit. Her life like many children of African parents is steeped in fear. How can an African parent expect their child to be open to saying what problems they have if the child fears getting hit or what comes next. Fear and trust cannot exist in the same place. Victoria was smart to choose this as a medium to talk to her father because it is a safe environment but she is taking a big risk as we don’t know what will happen when she goes home, brave young girl. It’s not that she is gen Z, or whatever generation, we all try to figure out ways to protect ourselves based on our childhood environments.

Victoria...I wish I was this smart, bold and daring at your age and even at this my big age.
We, the women folk, are proud of you.
NEVER loose your fire my love.
Im proud of all the fathers and the daughters. They all have a unique experience and it's lovely to see. No one is perfect and i see individuals trying to make it work somehow. So kudos to all of them!!!
Not proud 17:10 he must want his daughter to be lesbian. Don’t put hands on your daughter he could’ve slapped the men so the bad one will be scared to come around her .
Even just watching Victoria's Dad speak on TH-cam is already an experience i didnt want to have😭i cant imagine when she grows up and realises all this
I relate to Victoria so much she is only in year 10 and here he comes dumping things a child shouldn’t know onto her

Dear Victoria, just know that you are no longer going to Chioma's house😂😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wanted to say this too😂😂😂😂
Mr John and Bolu his daughter and Mr Razaq and Mariam his daughter won my heart really good.
I observed that constant words of affirmation will help Bolu a lot.
Mr Razaq is my kind of man " I equally feel pressured to meet the needs of my loved ones. Feel pressured I mean I never want to be in a position where they need something and I am not able to meet up."
I equally enjoyed the understanding Victoria and her Dad came to have at the end of the show. Their hug warmed my heart.
😂😂😂😂
Victoria is so bold and interesting. She is super intelligent and eloquent. And that’s all I’m gonna say😂
This episode is good for the small girl and the dad, you can tell they’ll heal after this. 🙏
That’s not true because he said so many stupid stuff

@@gerhardchang5315 I had a very present father in my life, he was and still is the best man I have ever met. Telling ur child that u want to marry someone else because u want male children sounds very annoying, because he can still give birth to girls.
And here is me regretting ever knowing my father 😑😑

Literally
Despite all, Esther Dad really love his daughter, and the daughter also took after him. They are both bold and expressive ❤
Almost at the end of the video and I agree. They're so similar 😂
I love Victoria, she’s super outspoken
I got emotional at the way they were genuinely pouring their hearts to each other😢 There's this unexplainable bond between a father and a daughter that is so unique honestly. I love my father so much and he has been through a lot to see that his family lacks nothing🙁My prayers for him is for him to live long to enjoy the fruits of his labor 🙏

S.I unit of family talks. Sorry o!
IT'S good thing he told her now than wait for her to imagine a perfect family that she will never get from her parents. That's bad thing
It certainly wasn't appropriate to say it online.
Right I’m not from this culture but it almost felt like he wanted to hurt her and her mom with that secret
Real!
I felt like the father who made her kids do hard labour is such a wonderful man, so vulnerable and honest. I hope his kids make him proud
Yes He is so cool

WOW!
this tale on expectation folks tell isn’t the flex they think it is, listen to your kids!
this is an excerpt from a piece i wrote about my childhood:
‘I wasn’t even allowed to be a kid, to grow at a pace every normal kid did. I did tons of adult stuffs. I couldn’t make mistakes. There was no room for emotions too. All of these because “I don’t want my kids to go through life the way I did”.
And as motivating as that sounds, it was the most suffocating and trapping thing ever. For me. As a child.’
❤❤❤❤
Wow, just screen shotted this. Well said!!! 🎉❤

If you see this, just keep working on your emotional intelligence…
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the analogy of labeling his behaviors. My dad vs the nagging.
And you are also deeply wise enough to acknowledge your part in triggering him as well. Cos despite it all, he’s a human too living through his own human experience.. this will make you more aware and intuitive and also more present…
Keep arming yourself with knowledge and understanding…
God’s got you girl!❤ 💪🏽

Oh my 🥹 thank you❤
Hugs to Victoria, carrying the burden of doing the right to earn the love and attention of a parent can be huge.
I pray they get support through that.

Victoria father should listen to his daughter for god sake! 😮
Like 😢😢😢😢
Likeeee man stress the little girl
Her impulsive need to leave the room when he walks in is sooo relatable to me. It’s a side effect of rigid parenting by someone with a closed-minded view of raising kids. Honestly, I don't think "blood is thicker than water". Strong relationships matter more, whether they're built on fear and power dynamics, conformity to tradition, or genuine respect and love for each other.
I am trusting she gets good mentors in her life that keep her spirit alive.
I am trusting she gets good mentors in her life that keep her spirit alive.
Our slave owners whipped us and we passed it down to our children 😔
So sorry about your experience, It was because of how they were brought up themselves.
Good thing is that our generation is trying to be better our parents
This episode is quite emotional

Love Semilore and her dad relationship
I couldn't pick a favourite as they were all amazing. However, I was captivated by Victoria because I feel a connection to her personality type.
The love Mr Razak has for his daughter is too sweet. The man has no airs just all love and wanting the best for his daughter.

This was heartwarming. There's nothing like the love and relationship between father and daughter. ❤❤❤ Well done to the fathers who have fathered well! 🎉🎉🎉 Including my own. ❤ We love you our dads! So much!
Mr Razaq is my favourite. I can feel the gentleness
I love Mr chartered account and his daughters relationship. It's beautiful to watch.
